Story
Meet Koda! 🌸 Your new fluffy BFF! Age: 3 years | Weight: 63 lbs Koda is a stunning husky/malamute mix who is ready to find her forever home! Unlike many huskies, she’s a low-maintenance girl, perfectly content with a short walk or some yard time before heading back inside to enjoy the AC. Koda is crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and is potty trained. She’s gentle, curious, and independent, making her an easy companion who doesn’t demand constant attention. That said, Koda will do best with structure and boundaries. She can be protective of her food, toys, and favorite spots, so she will need a confident adopter who understands how to manage resource guarding or is open and willing to learn. Feeding her in her crate and skipping couch privileges will help set her up for success. Because she can be protective of her things with other dogs and is a bit too interested in cats, she will do best as an only pet in the home. Koda is also a true beauty queen! With her gorgeous coat, she’ll need regular brushing to keep her looking and feeling her best. 😍 If you’re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys a calmer lifestyle, Koda may be your perfect match. She’s ready to share her love and personality with the right family! 💕 Apply to adopt Koda at: acesplacerescue.org/availabledogs 📍Located in Denton, Texas

Story
Theo (aka Theodore, Ted, Teddy) is a five year old (turns 6 in January) purebred Alaskan Malamute. He is as Alaskan as they get, since we got him as a puppy in Anchorage, AK. Theo absolutely loves people, take him to the dog park and he is getting all the pets and ignoring all the other dogs! He enjoys napping the day away, but likes to run patrol around the perimeter of the yard and stare out the window for any neighbor drama. He likes to make people laugh, loves to get all the pets, is a treat aficionado (but do not ask him to catch it, because he cannot) but will also go and sleep the day away in some random corner of the house (or in the middle of the hallway). Unfortunately, Theo has discovered that he does not do well with toddlers. Honestly, they freak him out. And Theo does not tolerate other dogs near his food or treats he views as his. A perfect home would have no small children (or child-free) and no other pets. He needs to be the center of attention!

Story
We adopted Pyper in 2020, and she’s got such a big attitude! She’s sweet, and loves attention. We’re looking to rehome her due to space issues. She’s a big girl and she needs room that we simply do not have. We would love for Pyper to go to a home with a big yard, and she loves kids! She’s a snuggly indoor dog, but loves brief moments outside when the weather isn’t too hot. She does have issues with guarding her food around other animals, but she’s not aggressive. She’ll need a little training or a separate feeding area if there are other animals in the home!
