Buddy is currently in Sweetwater, TN but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee! We use Rescue Riders Transport (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road! Buddy was discovered covered in ticks (14 to be exact), emaciated, and matted by a Good Samaritan who searched for his owners to no avail. They got in contact with us and we made room for this special guy at our rescue! Buddy is DEAF but he doesn’t let that stop him!! He loves to use his nose to explore the world around him and still loves to talk to you like your typical husky/malamute mix. 🥰 He can also feel vibrations and this can be a good way to get his attention. Buddy currently lives in a dog run with a doggie door and access to a potty room. Buddy has done well with the 3 year old human on the property and every dog he’s met! He does like to use his nose and paws to greet and communicate with new dogs and humans, so if your dog doesn’t like other dogs in their space, Buddy may not be a good fit for your home. He takes correction from other dogs VERY well and he is all around a goofy, even tempered guy! One of our wonderful volunteers has been working with Buddy on learning hand signals and he is very smart! He knows ‘sit, come here’ and is learning other commands as well. He can be cat tested upon request! He weighs approximately 69 lbs but is a big boy and is expected to be around 90-100 at his ideal weight! The vet believes he is around 2-3 years old.

Story
Blue is a great dog! He is house and crate trained ?. Once outside EVERYTHING is fair game for peeing on though haha. He does learn quickly (He no longer pees on the upper deck) so you can teach him where you don’t want him to pee. He loves walks and listens well to a calm leader. He pulls more with my husband and son because he doesn’t view them as leaders but as friends who are along for his fun. He gets along well with our dog. He plays nicely and as his hormone levels are dropping he is not bothering her as much. In the beginning he had nothing on his mind but getting some love. Tia was not in the mood for his persistent , but super cute, attention.?. He never pushed or got aggressive about it. He was just “Aww come on baby. I LOVE you” He will not be good with small animals/birds. If he thinks you are not watching he will jump on the cages trying to catch the sugar gliders. Also we let him out not realizing one of chickens had gotten loose. Luckily she is fast and Blue only got a couple mouthfuls of feathers before she reached cover! I am not sure how he would be with a cat. He is a counter surfer and feels it is ok to sample anything he can reach if he thinks no one will see him. He is calm in the house, likes to rough house with my son, and enjoys toys. He does not resource guard from us or our dog. It’s really nice to give the dogs toys and not have to worry about them fighting over them.

Story
Hiya! I am Yukon. I am a very special, gentle, spirit. I have had a hard life and I am very fearful of new people and new environments. I will take some time to warm up to you. However, I LOVE dog friends and toys. In my foster home I have mastered being house and crate trained. This whole "house dog" gig isn't too bad! I have come a long way - and I am looking for a family with enough love to see my progress through.
