Story
Hey, this is Sam. He's a great guy—smart, calm, and friendly with cats. He loves to sleep and is very peaceful. He's looking for a home where he'll receive lots of love—a place where he'll get companionship and attention. Up for adoption! Things have gotten difficult, and I don't want him to end up alone without a home. I am giving up a true treasure—and what could be better than for them to go together? He and Banjie are brothers.

Story
Meet Chloe. You could call her a house hippo, or a pittie potamus, but we just call her Sweetie. She is extremely loyal and will shadow you where ever you go. If she's not cuddled up to her people, as is a proper pocket pittie's sworn duty, she's playing ball, or wrestling with her foster brother. She doesn't mind hanging out in her crate (if there isn't a cozier place available). Now, when she's not chillin', she's a high octane stalker of birds, world class "bitey face" champion, and ball chaser extraordinaire. She is comfortable in the car, loves walks, is ok with cats, and runs to her crate when it's chow time. With all that, she is reactive to anything moving outside while she is in the house or the car. She would also do best with a submissive dog brother or sister. Medication helps her contain those impulses and makes her a happy, loving, part of the family. Chloe is spayed, up to date on vaccines and on heartworm and flea prevention. She is being fostered in North Alabama

Story
Darcy is a quiet, introverted girl with a gentle heart and a calm personality. She can be shy at first and takes a little time to warm up to new people and surroundings. Once she feels safe, her sweet nature begins to show, and she enjoys simply being near the people she trusts. Darcy is very smart and does well with routine, finding comfort in consistency and a peaceful environment. While she may not be the life of the party, she has a soft, playful side that comes out in her own time. She would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will allow her to build confidence at her own pace. Darcy is looking for a family that will give her the love, security, and patience she deserves while she finds her place in the world.

Story
Sophie has done everything right. She’s waited patiently. She’s loved fully. She’s shown nothing but kindness and loyalty. And still… she gets overlooked. Sophie would be the most grateful, gentle, devoted companion you could ever ask for. She doesn’t ask for much — just a home to finally call her own. She needs a home without cats, but she’s perfectly happy with or without other dogs. She’s laid-back and lazy, happiest lounging in her bed… though she does enjoy a few playful laps around the yard with her foster siblings when the mood strikes. She’s a treat hog, loves being rewarded for her good behavior, and honestly? Sometimes she deserves a treat just for being cute. Please don’t pass her up. Sophie is the real deal — and she’s been waiting far too long. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LAPA/Dog

Story
Introducing SAGE! Sage is a 3 1/2 year old American Bully rescued from a backyard breeder. While recovering with our Bostons and Frenchies, she now believes she is a 45 lb Boston Terrier. We call her the “cartoon dog” or the “45 lb Chihuahua” because her antics are hilarious and just looking at her makes you smile. When rescued, she was very ill from an improper C-Section which caused a raging infection and was HW positive. Sage is now cured of HW and recovered from hysterectomy surgery. Even though she is a bigger dog, Sage loves to sit in the chair with her Foster Dad, romp and play with our Bostons and Frenchies, and sleep in the bed with her Dad. (Don’t tell Evelyn about Sage sleeping in bed with her Dad!) Sage goes to the door to ask for potty breaks or to see the UPS truck coming up the driveway. Playtime is good with smaller dogs, no loud barking, no food aggression, no chewing (except on her aggressive chewer toys). Larger dog or cat interaction is unknown. Sage’s ideal home would be loving, owner(s) that work from home, a fenced yard for play with her humans or other dogs, and lots of nutritional food. And yes, she has a heart on her head!!
