Story
Daisy was a foster dog at 5 months old and is now 1.5 and is the most loving dog. She LOVES people especially children. She has been around many dogs and does well. She is very playful and also can be super lazy. Sometimes she forgets her own size and wants to be a literal lap dog. She has a bit of food reactivity with other dogs when a bone or treat is around and for this reason, needs someone willing to work with her. She would make an amazing best friend, loyal and loving to any human. Would recommend no small dogs or small children (soley due to size) or cats. She needs proper intros with new dogs but does play well with most dogs. She is extremely loving and loves belly rubs and sleeping next to you.

Story
Kirby is a male, mixed breed,8 ish yrs old. Got him as a puppy from Los Banos shelter. The shelter told me he was a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix, i had a DNA done and report said 50% American Bulldog,25% Dachshund, 12.5% Jack Russell, 12.5% Chihuahua. He gets groomed every month. Enjoys walks and is a loving dog. When he's asleep, you can't pick up and carry, he has an attitude. Same when asleep when you go next to his crate scares him. He also likes to bury himself slowly under a blanket and sleep on couch. Still has zoomies. He sleeps in crate, he knows as "his room". He grew up with 2 dogs-a chiweenie and frenglish bulldog. I'd like to rehome him preferably bonds more to females, who can spend more time with him and maybe be the only dog. But maybe ok with 1 other dog, no cats.

Story
King is a 3-year-old bundle of strength, love, and personality. Don’t let his strong build fool you—this boy is a gentle soul at heart. He’s incredibly kid-friendly, patient, and knows how to match the energy of a home. Whether it’s playtime in the yard or just relaxing nearby, King wants to be part of the family. King has been raised in a home where he’s gotten love, structure, and consistency. He’s not just a pet—he’s family. This is not an easy decision. Our family is relocating, and unfortunately, the new housing restrictions do not allow his breed. We’ve tried to explore options and exceptions, but we’ve hit a hard stop. Keeping him is simply not something we can legally or safely do in this next chapter. We are committed to finding him a home where he will be loved, respected, and kept for life—not bounced around.

Story
Meet Hank! Hank is the sweetest lover boy ❤️ he just wants to be by your side and get ear scratches. He gets so excited when we come home from being out, he even has this wiggle dance he does. Hank is roughly around 5-6 years old. We have been fostering him and his friend Lola (she has a separate post) since August. A family friend had some urgent life changes and we agreed to help foster them till they found their forever home. We cannot take them on permanently as they do not get along with our dog. Hank and Lola can be separated but can go to the same home if the right family had the space for them. Hank is unaltered but is on a wait list with the SPCA to get neutered. We can help facilitate this as he comes off the wait-list but will leave this optional for the new owners. He is best suited at a home that is familiar with bulldog breeds. *Hank's adoption fee is higher than Lola's due to neutering costs - if the new owner takes over this the fee will be reduced*

Story
Juneau is a special girl looking for a special family! Juneau is about a year old, and she is a sweet girl who loves treats and being with her people and dog friends. Juneau came to us as a young puppy after being raised on the streets. She has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find her fur-ever home. Juneau currently weighs about 60lbs and is fully grown. Juneau was transferred to us from our friends at BONES Pet Rescue. She was found with her three brothers on the nearby Native American reservation without their mom. After some TLC with BONES, the puppies were transferred to us. The three boys have been adopted, so now it's Juneau's turn to have her happy ever after ending. Juneau is a bashful and submissive girl who will need a patient family. She is shy of new people and unsure of new things and being in new places, but once you earn her trust, she is such a wonderful companion. She loves cuddles on the couch and will happily keep you company while you work from home or get chores done around the house. Food is definitely the way to her heart. She has started to go on walks and has been doing better and better every day. Juneau is a goofy puppy who loves playing - especially with the other dogs in her foster home. She will need a committed family that understands that she needs lots of time to build trust. We are looking for someone with large-dog experience, extra points if you have owned a fearful dog before. Juneau loves other dogs and has been a great playmate to lots of other foster puppies who have been cared for in her foster home. Having a confident dog buddy really helps Juneau feel safe, so we think she would do best with a friendly dog sibling in her new home to help her succeed. Juneau currently lives with dog-savvy cats and can be pretty obnoxious trying to play with them. With a slow introduction and proper supervision, she may do well living with other dog-savvy cats, but would be too much to live with shy cats. Juneau has been doing well living with teenagers. Juneau is house and crate trained. She is happy to sleep in her crate overnight and hang out in there during the workday. She needs a home with a backyard and would do best in a quiet neighborhood, as she will take on the role as your house's alarm system. Juneau deserves to find a great family to love her as much as we do.  If you think that might be you, fill out an application today!   Juneau's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. May 16, 2026, 2:41 pm
