Story
Late last December Stewie found himself in the shelter. While stuck in the shelter environment, Stewie's mental health decreased rapidly and he became a completely different dog. He was put on the Preventing Euthanasia path to ensure that all measures were being taken to get and keep him out of the shelter. He quickly became a staff favorite after being put on the Preventing Euthanasia track. The dogs on this path get extra outings and attention to help reduce their stress levels. They make lots of new friends, and Stewie wowed them all with his charm and affection. He makes the funniest noises and faces, making it impossible not to fall fall in love with him. His favorite thing in life is people.....and attention! He does very well meeting new people and making new human friends. He even enjoys having kid friends! Luckily, he now has a great foster to help him decompress and help us learn more about his behavior in a home. His foster says: Stewie is an AMAZING dog, does good with humans / adults & kids. He loves to go for rides in the car, to lay next to you & cuddle and loves to play tug of war. He's a pretty laid back dog most of the time. He also loves to sit for a treat. And he has the cutest snort when he breaths. Sometimes when you're sitting down or bent over he likes to jump up & give you a lick / kisses you. And when Stewie hasn't seen you for a little while, he'll get excited and jump on you with his two front feet because he wants to be hugged and petted. All this sweet boy wants is your love and attention. Stewie would do best with older kids because he thinks he's a little dog and doesn't understand his own strength. I have Stewie around my nieces & nephews / bigger kids all the time and they do great. Stewie is potty trained & crate trained, he has never had an accident in the house. He never barks, except when he has to go outside to the bathroom. Stewie is working on his walking manners, sometimes he likes to pull and for that would do best with a strong person to walk him. Stewie needs to be your one and only pet. He has a very high prey drive which means he can't live with cats, hamsters, bunnies etc. And we will never know why, but he really dislikes other dogs. They stress him out so much that he would be best in a home with a privacy fence, or a backyard where he can't see any other dogs. Stewie is such a great dog, who is looking for his very special person! He needs a hero! Could it be you?

Story
Meet Ford, a remarkable Bulldog whose presence is as powerful and steadfast as a mighty river. Just like the characteristics of his breed, Ford embodies kindness and courage, showcasing a unique blend of friendliness and dignity. Now you may not see it by looking into his gorgeous brown eyes, but Ford has suffered in his short life.... he came to the rescue from the streets with a HORRIFIC hernia on his back end, near his rectum. He required two surgeries to correct the hernia and allow him to have a normal life again. He came through with SHINING colors ;) With his well-muscled frame and low-slung stature, Ford is the epitome of a true bruiser, but it's his iconic "sourmug" face that represents his unwavering courage and tenacity. Despite his robust appearance, Ford is a docile and loyal companion, adapting seamlessly to any environment, be it the bustling city or the serene countryside. With Ford by your side, you'll experience the unwavering devotion and unmistakable presence of a Bulldog, a breed that leaves an indelible mark on your heart. Don't miss the opportunity to welcome this incredible Bulldog into your life, as Ford's unique spirit will bring joy, love, and an unmistakable charm that only he can deliver. Some basic information about Ford; he is male, a Bulldog mix, and is medium-sized (20-59lbs). Ford is not great with other dogs (or cats or other critters) and would be best in a home with either only adults or older children and as a single dog. But his heart will fill your home with all the love you need!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
