Story
Ziggy is an American Bulldog mix, born Nov 2023.  Ziggy is very social with people and loves to interact with everyone, including young kids (although he might be better in a home with older kids, age 6+).  He seems to know when to be gentle and when it's okay to be hyper.  Ziggy is a very happy and active guy.  He loves to give kisses and he will lay on the couch with you (sometimes on you!). Ziggy likes to play fetch and knows some commands.  He is potty trained and will hold it while his people are away.  Ziggy is crate trained as long as you have a treat to give him when he goes in.  He will be okay with just a blanket in his crate.  (Anything else and he is likely to chew it up!)  Ziggy enjoys being active and he is leash trained, but he does pull a little initially especially when he's excited.  He needs a fenced yard where he's allowed to dig occasionally. Ziggy is very food motivated and territorial about his food and toys.  We believe he would do best in a home where he can be the only animal. Please help us find Ziggy an active home where he gets lots of love and kisses! The suggested adoption donation for Ziggy is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Adoptions for Ziggy are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that s/he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers.      Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Kaya is an American Bulldog mix, born August 2021.  If you have ever dreamed of the perfect house hippo, congrats!  You've found her!  Kaya is the full package: spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative and healthy.  Weighing in at 85 pounds, Kaya is loyal, calm and absolutely devoted to her people (especially the little humans). She's got top notch manners!  No chewing, no potty accidents, crate trained and even a free roam queen.  Kaya loves being part of the action, but is also a chill "I'll nap while you do your thing" kind of girl.  She doesn't bark or cause chaos.  Kaya is an incredible guardian and best friend all rolled into one!  Because she has strong guarding instincts, prey drive and a confident personaility, Kaya will shine brightest as the only pet in the home.  If you are experienced with bully breeds and have a large submissive male, Kaya would consider it.  A 6 foot secured fenced yard or apartment living are her other requirements.  She's also got the sweetest quirks like snoring under the covers and cuddling as close to her people as possible.  Baths?  Easy.  Nail trims and vet visits?  No problem!  Kids and all humans?  YES!  Nyla bones and squeaky toys?  Her fave! Kaya's heart is huge despinte being abandoned and surviving the streets for 3+ months.  Her loyalty runs deep and her love for life is unmatched. If you are looking for a calm, polite, well-trained, affectionate partner - Kaya is your girl!! The suggested adoption donation for Kaya is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
