Story
*Courtesy Post of a Very Special Girl* Hello ALL my friends, and YES, everyone is my friend! My name is Kaya and I'm a 4 year old female American Bulldog Mix but my foster mom thinks there might be a bit of baby hippo mixed in.  I'm a BIG chunk of love weighing in at about 75 pounds and I'm here to bring to bring joy, love, and happiness to you...but know I'm a on the lazy side so you will need to provide me with a comfy bed or sturdy lap to lounge on! Please read more about me below: PERSONALITY: Kaya is a goof and a love bug! There’s not much she takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! She will do just about anything for a treat. She even thinks her own kibble is a treat! She’s overall an easy dog that is sweet, happy, cuddly and isn’t overly energetic. She loves playing and is a bulldozer but relaxes and naps most of the day too. She doesn’t require mass amounts of exercise and is more than happy to lounge around in bed and watch tv with her humans. Oh! Almost forgot! She snores. It’s not quiet so possibly investing in ear plugs is a good idea! KIDS: Yes! But how tough are your kids? She is a stumpy legged, thick bodied, giant headed, wrecking ball. No human, big nor small gets treated differently by Kaya, she loves them all. She thinks everyone is at the party for her so beware of being smooshed as she plays. She will then apologize by smothering your face with kisses and butt wiggles. She has lived with 3 kids, ages 3, 5 and 8. For the most part she is a lazy hippo letting kids of all ages pet and sleep next to her. Occasionally she will get the zoomies so littles need to be prepared to seek higher ground when Kaya tucks her legs under and kicks it into high speed. CRATE TRAINED: Perfection. Kaya never barks in it, chews, destroys, or has accidents while in her crate. She is also great with free roam once adjusted to a new environment. She happily snoozes in an open crate during the day if you’re working from home. No separation anxiety or barking while her humans are hard at work paying her food bills. POTTY TRAINED: Kaya will do her business on command on leash. She has never had an accident in her foster home. She lets out little whimpers letting you know she needs to go. A proper and tidy lady is what she is. HOME RECOMMENDATIONS: Family, or single human. She is ready to love all! There’s not much she takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! She will do just about anything for a treat. She even thinks her own kibble is a treat! She’s overall an easy dog that is sweet, happy, cuddly and isn’t overly energetic. This hilarious girl also loves her stuffies! She'll grab and go while frequently hitting herself in the head with them.  OTHER DOGS in HOME: At this time, we’re listing her as an only dog. Dog intros are tough. Kaya gets overstimulated and just goes right in. Other dogs don’t enjoy this. She does not have any barrier aggression and does not react when she meets another dog through a fence (foster mom has video of this) or on leash.  Kaya had to become somewhat of a dominant female to have survived for 3 months on the streets protecting herself. We are open to intros with a larger (50lb +) submissive male dog and continue to work on her impulse control. CATS: No…let’s go with no. No seems like a solid plan due to her HIGH PREY DRIVE. If you're loving for a huge head full of love, has jowls for days, can be a bulldozer but enjoys her naps most of the day this goofy love bug is for you! And as a bonus Kaya does not require mass amount of exercise. To meet this sweet adorable hippo, please apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org and be ready to fall in love! COURTESY POST! All meets will be conducted by her foster mom and she must be in indoor companion animal. Kaya is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, HeartWorm Negative, is on preventatives and is microchipped.        PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! August 13, 2025, 6:58 pm

Story
Topaz is a handsome, young Scott American Bulldog, born 3/27/2021. He is a super snuggly, very smart boy who knows basic commands (sit/stay/down/shake/kennel) and is looking for a home that can help boost his confidence and provide him with consistency and love so that his goofy, fun-lovin' personality can shine. Topaz prefers adult conversation and company. He's totally down for chill, adult-only dinner parties on the patio and will settle right in for an evening of fireside chats. Topaz chuckles and rolls his eyes when you ask about his potty behavior, "Are you kidding me? Of course I'm housetrained... who would do that inside." This smart boy is crate trained, 5 stars on a leash (enjoys walks), and so eager to please. He loves car rides, the open road, and you by his side. Topaz, as your forever buddy, will snuggle up in bed and is always up for a night of Netflix and popcorn after a busy day. Due to some experiences he had as a young pup, Topaz will require more than one meeting because he can be slow to trust new people. However, once you've made it into his circle of trust, he's all yours with lots of love to give! Apply today to meet Topaz and see if you're his match!  The suggested adoption fee for Topaz is $315. Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ is a non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR are adopted with DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already spayed or neutered if old enough, or a voucher will be provided once the dog becomes of age. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home. ##1632418##

Story
Ziggy is an American Bulldog mix, born Nov 2023.  Ziggy is very social with people and loves to interact with everyone, including young kids (although he might be better in a home with older kids, age 6+).  He seems to know when to be gentle and when it's okay to be hyper.  Ziggy is a very happy and active guy.  He loves to give kisses and he will lay on the couch with you (sometimes on you!). Ziggy likes to play fetch and knows some commands.  He is potty trained and will hold it while his people are away.  Ziggy is crate trained as long as you have a treat to give him when he goes in.  He will be okay with just a blanket in his crate.  (Anything else and he is likely to chew it up!)  Ziggy enjoys being active and he is leash trained, but he does pull a little initially especially when he's excited.  He needs a fenced yard where he's allowed to dig occasionally. Ziggy is very food motivated and territorial about his food and toys.  We believe he would do best in a home where he can be the only animal. Please help us find Ziggy an active home where he gets lots of love and kisses! The suggested adoption donation for Ziggy is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Adoptions for Ziggy are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that s/he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers.      Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2574376##

Norah is the sweetest pup! Her demeanor and personality are that of a playful, happy go lucky dog. She loves car rides, playing with her people and all the attention. She has a cute way of pawing at you when she wants your eyes on her or just simply pets. She is super easy as far as listening and obeying goes. She responds to kennel up, stop, no, sit, shake and lay down (especially for treats! and she loves Dentasticks!). She sleep and snores through the day and requires a couple stints of play time through the day, twice for 20 minutes or so, especially in the evening. She is ready for bed by 9pm and will snore the night away! She is a great addition to any household as she loves everyone, as long as they give her plenty of attention! She is a loving, snuggly, all around perfect pet! ##2161123##

Story
Biggie is a handsome fella who had one heck of a rough start to life.  He was surrendered to a partner shelter due to landlord issues.  Even entering the building then was hard for him--the slip leash going over his head was terrifying and doorways posed a challenge.  Over the next couple of days, he remained extremely guarded with physical touch and new items like microchip scanners entering his space.  With time, he began to settle in with the staff and volunteers, leaning into them for love when out of his kennel.  Unfortunately, a hectic shelter was not a place where he could succeed.  We were contacted as he began bar biting, painting his kennel, body slamming his door and showing more fear when in his kennel. Biggie was extremely shy/reticent when he was transported in to our foster--he slept in the car but required patience and lots of treats when trying to move from vehicle to vehicle, extremely unsure of the situation.  He allowed us to get a BullHug on him, again with lots of patience, and headed to his foster home.  Within a few hours, after a quick bath outside, Biggie's puppy side came out--he couldn't get enough of zooming around the yard and playing with the water! Biggie had been reported to be ok with dogs his size and larger but has shown reactivity to a neighboring lab and with a golden.  At this time, we believe Biggie would be best as an only dog, ready to receive all of your TLC as he comes to know and trust you. Biggie has done well with school-aged and older children but has not been exposed to cats or younger kids.  He's a full-sized guy with lots of energy so smaller kids may be inadvertently toppled over in his excitement. Biggie, like many bulldogs and squishfaces, has demonstrated some fall allergies and is currently on Apoquel and the normal bulldog skin care routine to keep his paws, ears, and facial folds in tip top shape! ##2566390##
