Surely you’ve seen Dottie’s beautiful face flash across this page a time or two. This gorgeous girl has been in rescue for far too long!  Dottie is an American Bulldog Mix approximately 7 years old. She is deaf and will need a family that is experienced in dealing with a special needs dog. She is house & crate trained. Dottie is a great car rider and very sweet. She is currently fostered with other dogs but would she would probably be more at ease being the only dog in the family. Story
Being an urgent medical case and the shelter already overcrowded, Blue was on the euthansia list and he only had until 5pm that day. Seeing his adorable, almost pleading face, we knew we had to act and act fast. We immediately sent an email to the shelter with the subject line being DNPTS. This stands for Do Not Put To Sleep. It is the urgent message to the shelter to go put eyes on that dog and make sure they do not get euthanized because they have RESCUE. Blue was taken to CARE and underwent surgery to fix his condition which was a urinary stricture. He did great but did have a long recovery ahead of him. He was a great little guy through it all and just as sweet as he can be despite everything he'd been through. Blue is a 1 1/2 year old American Bully. In true form, he's got the big noggin, slight underbite and prick ears and is a lean and muscular, little low rider machine. He is absolutely precious and has the funniest personality. He is playful but he also won't miss an opportunity to bake himself in the sun...another bully thing! Blue is VERY into his people and will pick a favorite who he will laser lock in on. Not in a bad way, no resource guarding, but a one person kind of dog. He'd be a great family dog with older kids but with the understanding that he will have HIS person. And can we say snug bug! She may only be 2 years old but she has an old sole that just wants to hang with her human family. She is people friendly all the way. She is just lovely who wants to be the only lovely. She does not like Cats, or other Dogs. Recommend a single dog family. While she does not go crazy around them, she will eventually want to engage aggressively. More notes about Croissant:House trained, sweet, quiet girl who thrives in a house with a fenced in yard. No separation anxiety.Treat motivated in the house.Understands sit, working in stay.Will eat when hungry, and leave food for later when full.Great with kids, humans of all kind.Reactive on walks to other dogs. Working on this as all treat motivation goes out the window once reacted. Needs to be walked on a short leash and hooked to from clasp on harness for best control.
