Story
Tricky came over from St. John and has settled so well! He had a rough start to life, coming from a bad home on the island. The shelter in St. John worked to show him the good side of humans and he is making excellent strides in learning to trust while in foster. Tricky is incredibly loving and would love to lay on the couch and cuddle all day if given the chance. He is great at hanging around the house, but also LOVES to play. He loves to play with every dog he meets, starting each play with a bow and tail wag. Tricky is also very smart- he knows how to sit and is working on “heel” and “place” in weekly training classes. Tricky is estimated to be 4 years old and is 43 lbs. He is potty trained, crate trained, and great in the car (he loves a car ride)! He loves his crate and sleeps in it at night, greeting you with a tail wag and biiiig stretch in the morning. Simply put, Tricky exudes joy and is looking for a loving home to call his own! --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html

Story
Please contact my foster at: fosterlanddogs@gmail.comLooking for a dog with a big ol’ squishy head? An endless amount of sass and side-eye? And a heart full of love, fueled by treats and affection? Meet Mitch. If you look up “goober” in the dictionary, you’ll find Mitch’s name. This lovable boy will steal your heart with his permanent smile, squishability, and happy-go-lucky nature. Not only is he house and crate trained, but he’s non-destructive when left out, lounging around on his bed and snoozing during the day. A huge fan of toys, he entertains himself; but don’t worry, he needs frequent power-naps to recharge and stay on his A-game. Always down for an adventure, he’s had a blast at Freedom Park, getting to play in the creek and watch the ducks. He’d currently do best in a home as the only dog, and he’s recommended for kids 12+ since he jumps when he’s excited. While Mitch doesn’t ask for much, he’ll repay you with pure love and kisses. If you’re looking to fill your home with laughter and a true companion that will always be by your side, then look no further.•Happy-go-lucky, playful, loveable, hilarious personality •House and crate trained•Non-destructive when left out during the day•Huge fan of bones and chew toys + self-entertains with toys•Always down for an adventure!•An excellent car rider, he jumps right in and promptly fall asleep•Does great with meeting new people•Jumps when excited, so recommend kids 12+ for now•Would currently do best as a single dog due to his excited nature when seeing other dogs, redirects with treats (not officially dog tested yet)•Knows “sit”•Walks well with a harness•Loves to run around and play, but tires himself out quickly, so needs lots of power naps•Enjoys cooling off in water on a hot day•Treat-motivated, so easier to train + takes them very gently

Story
Please contact foster parent at lashleydunc11@aol.comIn a few words, Indy can be described as an incredibly intelligent energizer bunny. He loves children and has done well in a household with cats and dogs*.Once he gets to know you, he is a huge cuddle bug! He fully expects to share a pillow with his human every night. You will never have to worry about being cold mid-winter again! He is uber smart and has taught himself a lot of tricks all on his own! He knows how to open doors (only to get to his favorite people to make sure they are safe) and will bring his leash to you when he wants to go out. He knows how to pick up his mess if you tell him `get your ball` if he ever leaves it in an inconvenient spot. And he loves his ball! If his human isn`t quite getting what he wants, he will take them gently by the hand to lead them. Sometimes he will even walk the other dogs if a leash is dropped. He loves long grass and standing on outdoor furniture (he learned that we in fact cannot stand on the inside dining table but foster mom does not care if I stand on the outdoor table, pool box, pool recliner or anything else outside). Really, he is probably part billy goat without the headbutts to your gonads. So if you ever wanted a pet goat but your stinky HOA won`t let you have one......He would need at least a 4.5ft tall fence as he has mad hops.Indy is VERY athletic and does absolutely need an outlet. He is looking for a VERY active home or a sporting/working home. This really is one of THE BEST dogs anyone will have the privilege of owning but not everyone has the brains and physical aptitude for him (which is true for most working dogs). So if you are one of those special someone`s, we definitely want to hear from you!Indy currently participates in cani-cross and we hope to have him evaluated for agility and flyball soon.I have fostered for 15 years, a huge variety of dogs (mostly highly intelligent working breeds) and I will say, Indy has blown me away. He has so much potential that I know he is going to make someone incredibly happy and proud.*Indy is dog friendly for the most part but does have some resource guarding around toys and high value areas. 90% of the time he is completely fine. This is where an experienced owner comes in who is used to working dogs who can have moments of intensity. We have managed him very successfully for over a year in a large pack of pups. It is very doable but a lot of average d
