Petey Boy, born 3/15/26 8lbs at 6 weeks and the only one without rear dew claws--he'll be a big boy! Observant, playful and cuddly Loves his stuffed "mom" and his foster humansPetey and his siblings are bully-type/LGD mixes who were orphaned when their mom died during their birth. They've been lovingly bottle fed, and now they're eating big puppy food and starting to explore the world. Because the pups didn't get to be with their mom, they're needy crybabies right now, but they take comfort in other dogs. They'll thrive in homes with puppy experience and tolerant adult dogs to help them continue learning how to dog. They'll be ready for their forever homes after mid-May.Adoption fee: $400 and includes worming, puppy shots, microchip and neuter when he's old enough.Apply here: www.northmeckanimalrescue.org ##2709922##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  THE BOY WHO LEARNED TO LOVE: Jake Needs You   They told him he had to "earn" his life. On a lonely farm, 2-year-old Jake was left to fend for himself, hunting for every meal just to see another sunrise. He lived in the shadows of a threat—that if he wasn't "useful," he wouldn't be allowed to exist at all.   When Jake first arrived at the rescue, he was a ghost. No tail wags, no spark, just a stoic survivor who didn't know what a kind hand felt like. It took two months of patience for the "real" Jake to emerge from behind those soulful American Bulldog eyes.   And then, the magic happened… Jake met "his" people. For the first time, he traded the hunt for a bowl of brown kibble and a warm bed. He learned that he didn't have to work for his life anymore—he just had to be Jake.       •    The Neighborhood Hero: He became the dog every kid on the block knew by name. He lived for the sound of children shouting "Jake!" and running to greet him.       •    The Perfect Houseguest: Despite his rough start, he was a gentleman. Completely housebroken, leash-trained (mostly—those squirrels still remind him of his "roots"!), and a master of the afternoon snooze.   Now, through no fault of his own, Jake is back at the rescue. Due to sudden, severe allergies in the home, Jake lost the only peace he’s ever known. He is confused. He keeps looking at the door, waiting for the family that showed him what love was to come back and take him home. He doesn't understand why the soft rugs and neighborhood kids have been replaced by concrete and bars again.     What Jake Needs Now: Jake is looking for a "Forever-Forever" home.     •    A Family to Trust: He has so much love to give; he just needs someone who won't let him go.     •    A Yard for Squirrel-Watching: He’s a big boy with a big heart who loves his walks.     •    Gentle Hands: He’s proven he’s amazing with children and is ready to be a loyal protector and playmate once again. Jake has survived the worst of humanity, and he’s tasted the best of it. We can't let him believe that love was just a temporary gift.   Will you be the one to tell Jake he never has to worry again?     Jake is house broken, crate trained, neutered and up to date on all his vaccines. He is also heartworm negative and microchipped.    please submit an adoption application at  https://www.arrfnc.com/info/adoption                 I am house broken crate trained, neutered and up to date on all my vaccines. I am also heartworm negative and microchipped.         Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Hi. I am new to the rescue. My foster mom will update when she learns more about me.For more information and to submit an application, got to www.arrfnc.com. Thanks!May 19, 2026, 10:14 pm
