Nala Jean is a beautiful, special girl who is looking for someone who can accommodate her capabilities - can scale a 6 foot wall with little effort, can jump high enough to look a 6 foot person in the eyes, and can escape a flimsy kennel quicker than you can spell "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Nala is not a dog who wants to lay around the house all day - she wants to get up and go, and loves to ride in the car! Based on the experience of volunteers who are very familiar with her personality, she seems to be comfortable with women from the get-go, but she can be a little leery of men, and needs a slow introduction to them. However, once she gets to know you (male or female), she will shower you with kisses and want to spend all her time near you. Nala is also selective about dogs and would likely be better suited to a home without small children. If you are a person who wants a dog that can share your active lifestyle and can give Nala the guidance and environment she needs, you will gain a devoted companion who will likely never tire out before you do.

Cuddlebug alert Hi everyone, my name is Maxi! I’m a 3.5-year-old, 45-pound American Bulldog/Coonhound mix. I may not be brand new here, but for the very first time, I’m getting to experience what it’s like to live in a real foster home — and oh my gosh, it feels wonderful. While I was staying in boarding, I became a staff favorite. They showered me with love, and I loved them right back. They even threw me my very own birthday party! I’m a polite little guy — I take treats ever so gently, and I know how to sit and give my paw. I’m also crate trained, potty trained, and when my foster mom calls my name, I trot right over to her. I walk nicely on a leash too! I’ve been told I’m dog-friendly, though I can sometimes be a tiny bit picky with intact males. I’m already neutered and microchipped so no one has to worry about those things. My favorite thing in the world right now is cuddling up with my foster mom and curling onto her lap like I’ve been there forever. If I could cuddle 24/7, I absolutely would! I love my tennis ball, I love my bones, and honestly… I just love being loved. When my foster mom came to pick me up, my whole body lit up with excitement. I wasn’t totally sure about the man she brought with her, but after he offered me a treat, gave me calm pets, and didn’t rush me, I decided he was pretty great too. I need a little extra time to warm up to men! The car ride to my foster home made me a bit nervous, but once my foster mom comforted me, I melted right into her arms. My foster mom says she’s going to take me on pup-cup adventures so I can learn to love car rides. I’m also still figuring out mirrors… those funny shiny things really keep me on my toes! I can’t wait to keep learning, exploring, and sharing all the love I’ve been holding in my happy heart. Thank you for getting to know me. ##2417643##

Harley is a 3-year-old female tri-color American bully. She has a lot of energy and loves to play with her wubi (kong). She carries it with her everywhere she goes. She weighs 53 lb and is very strong. She needs a yard to play in and a family who is willing to walk her. She will not go to the bathroom outside when it's raining unless she goes on a walk. She WILL go in the house if you don't walk her when it rains. However, she is housetrained & stays in my son's bedroom when we're not home. We have chihuahuas who do not like her & have to keep them separated. She seems to want to play with them but doesn't like larger dogs while on walks. So she may need to be the biggest dog. But we have not brought her around other dogs. I don't want her to be tossed out on the street again. I will require a vet to be in place for her. And I'd love to keep in touch as we have had her 5 mos & care about her well-being.

We can only imagine how frightening it must have been for him to survive without being able to see. Despite being thin, anemic, and exhausted, Ray still greeted rescuers with kindness and trust — proof of his incredible spirit. Medical Notes: Thanks to many generous donors, Ray received a full eye evaluation and was diagnosed with Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). This condition means he has lost nearly all of his vision and can only detect faint shadows or changes in light. While there’s no treatment to restore his sight, daily supplements can help preserve what little vision he has left. Personality; Ray has shown amazing resilience. In just a few short weeks, he’s learned the layout of the shelter and continues to grow more confident every day. His playful, silly side shines through as he learns to trust and navigate his world. Ray enjoys gentle affection, soft voices, and his favorite toys. Once he bonds with you, he’ll reward your patience with unwavering loyalty and love. Home Needs: Ray may do well with calm, friendly dogs (meet and greets are always required). We’re not sure how he feels about cats, but with slow introductions, it may be possible.
