Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!!   Meatball puts the M in front of HUNK! This big ball of bulldog love is ready to plow right into your couch (and your heart). Meatball loves to flop around in the water and bask in the morning sun. He sticks to his routine and struts his stuff on the way out the door with more personality than you’ve seen in most people! Meatball found himself in a new exciting place when his owner needed a dog sitter while going out of town but he loved watching the pigs and splashing in the puddles at the ranch so much he couldn’t be convinced to leave! He loves everybody but does enjoy leaning on and hugging his pals, so he would do best in a home that doesn’t have small children or older family members. Meatball is just an all around happy guy that is searching for his forever. A good balance between quiet couch potato-ing and long walks with a harness and some guidance (or anything to splash around in) is all you need to keep this Meatball happy! *Guest Posting If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, let us know and we will send it to you in a different format. Adoption fee $150.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. June 14, 2024, 5:40 pm

He is so heartbroken, and so am I. He says that I will find someone who will love me just as much as he does. Gosh, I hope that’s true, he REALLY loves me and I love him but I know I will love again. He has taught me how to be a good boy. I am only 12 months old and I am crate trained, potty trained, and great with other dogs. I do like to chase those furry things they call cats. I am a little sad that I had to leave my daddy, but I’m hoping to find a new home real soon. I am working with some really good trainers at Off Leash K9 Training! I just needed to learn how to control my excitement when meeting new people. I just get SO excited. They are REALLY good trainers, and I will be an even better behaved boy when I’m done with training! I’m so happy and eager to learn new things! Do you need a super good boy in your life? Adopt me!! Love, Chevy *Due to my size, children 12 and older are recommended   If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. Some mean person used me for breeding and didn’t take good care of me. It’s ok since a nice lady has me now! She is going to make sure that I don’t have any more puppies! She got all the bugs off of me too! I went to the vet for a check up and they said I’m lucky to be alive. I was out in the heat for a while and it was really hard for me to catch my breath.I am about 5 years old and a very small girl for an English Bulldog! I don’t really like to share my home with other dogs, I like to be the center of attention. I do well with them out in public, but not in my house. I LOVE car rides!! I ignored my foster mom’s cat, so I think as long as they don’t bother me, they’re ok. I LOVE kids! There are some real cute kids in my foster home.I like to snuggle with you, and I’m house trained too! I am going to be spayed soon, and will be ready for my new home within the next week or so. I would love someone who is experienced with my breed. Bulldogs can be little high maintenance. I'm worth it though!Do you think you can finally be my FOREVER home? I promise to be a good girl!Love, BluBelleIf you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. Story
This sweet but scared baby is Nala. Nala is very anxious & under-socialized, but with time she warms up. When meeting new people, a slow and passive approach is recommended as she needs time to feel comfortable. Once she is comfortable with you, she will be your BEST friend & snuggle buddy. Her energetic, bouncy self does shine through given time (with squeaky toys too! She LOVES those). She is an absolute doll when she warms up to you. In doggy playgroups Nala can be bouncy and energetic. She is a rough and rowdy player so she would love to have a playmate that has the same energy as her! While in our care Nala has been snuggly, food motivated, and loves toys. She has been known to be potty-trained & likes to keep her space clean. Since she is nervous, Nala would prefer older kids only. Meet Nala today!
