Story
Remi 2 years old. She is a lover, she’s a cuddler. She is very vocal so if she’s upset she’ll let you know. She does not like going on walks, we’ve tried multiple trainers to help her but so far no luck. She hates car rides, does not like big crowds/lots of dogs. She follows her big brother however he does not like her so if you have other dogs, please make sure they’re friendly. We got her from California but she was born on the East Coast. She loves the snow. She has a very sensitive stomach so medications hurt her and switching foods hurt her. She loves to eat she will never skip a meal. She needs a backyard as she is very active, but remember she is loud! So she is a barker.

Story
#### Trixie is a gorgeous American Eskimo who is 7 years old and weighs 19 pounds. This girl is fun to be around. She loves other dogs with manners. She playbows and it is adorable to see her initiate play. She really loves play time. She stays with the other dogs and hides behind people or dogs if a dog is too rough. In her kennel she is more affectionate and is food motivated and will take treats from people's hands in the yards. While Trixie started off quite afraid of people, she has made great progress at NMDR. She wags when a human friend approaches and enters her kennel, and takes treats from their hand. She had surgery recently to repair a luxating patella, and needs physical therapy as part of her recovery. She avoids the handling required for it, but once settled, she tolerates it and even takes treats during. Yay Trixie! She prefers smaller playgroups where there are fewer people. She is a flight risk and must have a safely fenced yard with a 5 foot high fence or higher. She does try to climb walls when scared. She is not leash trained. We hope she will allow a harness and leash to begin leash walking but this will take time and patience. She needs a friendly doggie sibling in her adoptive home, like so many of our breeding survivors, to help her along her path with things like leash walking. This little wiggle butt is shy and skittish currently but has made nice progress and is so cute as she experiences new things. She really loves 3 of her male friends and this smart cookie needs to run and play as she has a lot of energy. If you would like to meet sweet Trixie, please apply at NMDR.org. - - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
