Story
Meet Parker, a 7-year-old German Spitz/Husky mix with a heart full of sweetness and a touch of nervousness. Adopted in 2018, Parker found himself back at the rescue when his previous owner ended up in jail, prompting a call to us to help him find a new forever home. Parker is a gentle and affectionate dog who quickly forms strong bonds with his person. While he can be a bit nervous and flighty at first, he’s incredibly loving once he feels secure. He gets along well with other dogs and has no medical concerns, making him a well-rounded and healthy companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal dog who will become deeply attached to you and needs a little time to settle in, Parker is ready to bring his love and warmth into your life. Give this loving pup the chance he deserves, and he’ll reward you with unwavering affection and companionship.

Story
#### ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Meet Kurt, a sweet 23-lb American Eskimo who is still learning that the world—and people—can be kind. Kurt is a gentle soul who is building trust with humans and will do best in a calm, quiet home with a patient and understanding adopter. He needs someone who is willing to let him move at his own pace, offering consistency, gentle guidance, and respect for his space as he grows more confident. Kurt gets along with other dogs, but he prefers calmer canine companions and a peaceful household environment. Having a relaxed dog friend may help him feel more secure, but a low-key setting is most important for his success. A meet and greet at the shelter is required with any dogs currently in the home to ensure a smooth transition and the best possible fit for everyone involved. With time, patience, and love, Kurt has the potential to blossom into a loyal and devoted companion. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Local owner surrender from Colorado, 10-month-old Pomeranian. Previous owners got the dog from a friend 4 months prior to surrendering, reason for surrender was that the landlord didn't want them to have a dog. From the foster: Oliver is your shadow, playmate and personal hype man! Oliver is a joyful, high energy guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He was recently neutered and is always in a great mood ready to play, explore and make friends. Oliver loves people and dogs alike. He greets newcomers with a bark- not as a warning but as an enthusiastic "HI! I'm excited you're here!" Once introductions are out of the way, he is ready for playtime, wrestling, running, and chewing his toys. Oliver would thrive in an active home that enjoys play, interaction and structure. A household with another dog would be a dream for him, he would also do great with humans who can keep up with his engagement and energy needs. While he hasn't been tested with kids in his foster home, he is welcoming to all humans he has met. Oliver does best with consistent potty breaks and is learning not to mark/pee indoors. He is create trained and loves having his own space to sleep and rest. Oliver loves to chew and play. He will need some redirection to keep his focus on dog items and not human items. Oliver is a true glamour guy with long, thick fur. Regular grooming is non-negotiable to keep him comfortable and fabulous. Oliver is a bundle of energy wrapped in fluff, looking for a home to embrace his enthusiasm, continue his training, and love him for the bright, joyful souls he is. If you're ready for a playful companion to keep you smiling and moving, Oliver is ready to meet you! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
