Story
Meet Seymour! Seymour is one of two dogs that were rescued from an extended stay motel that was closed down after a human trafficking sting.   Just a few days ago, Seymour passed his six month rescueversary and we could not be more proud of this little guy! When we saved Seymour back in May he was completely shut down and terrified of the world. He spent his first week in foster cowering in the back of his crate. Six months later, after lots of patience and TLC from some of our amazing fosters, Seymour has come into his own and is showing us what an amazingly loving little guy he is!  Seymour is about 3-4 years old; crate trained; house trained; and good with both cats and other dogs. He still has some lasting “stranger danger” issues, so he will do best with an experienced adopter who will give him the time and patience to settle in at his own pace. Seymour definitely prefers and feels safest with women, so his future family will need at least one adult female in the home that he can bond with as he learns to trust any men that may live in the home. But, and here’s Seymour’s biggest accomplishment to date, we have learned that Seymour will in fact learn to trust and even love a calm, gentle male family member with time and patience! This is a huge step as we had originally thought he would need a female only home.  After everything this little guy has been through in the first few years of his life, we want nothing more than for him to find his family and be able to spend the holiday season surrounded by joy and love, probably for the first time in his life.
