Meet Balto! HAPPY BOY ALERT!!! Every day is a GREAT day in Balto’s world now that he’s been rescued from the same hoarding/breeding situation as all of the poodle mixes we rescued a couple of weeks ago! He seriously hasn’t stopped smiling since arriving at his foster home. Balto is a Pomsky - around 7-9 yrs old and about 22 lbs. He’s great with other dogs and loves people! Making new friends is one of his favorite past times. We aren’t totally certain how he is on leash yet, but we have no doubt once he has mastered that skill he will be the ultimate social butterfly- ready for all your patio lunch/dinner dates! We are retired disabled couple. we are moving to South Carolina and they do not allow pets. they are such good babies. I would love if they could stay together. Two Pomeranians, both girls we've had them for 3 years since they were born. All shots, have been on flea and tick medication, still have four doses for each dog, dog food, beds, kennel, travel carriers and toys.

Story

Levi is a sweet 12-year-old Yorkie-Pomeranian mix who has been with our family since he was a puppy. He is loving, gentle, and enjoys spending time with his people. As he has gotten older, Levi has developed dry eye, which affects his vision, and he has a collapsed trachea, a common condition in his breed. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and generally does very well, though he may occasionally have an accident if left out overnight. Levi has been wonderful with our 2-year-old child, but because he can be startled when approached too quickly, he would likely do best with older children or in a calmer home. He is up to date on most vaccinations but cannot receive distemper or parvo vaccines due to severe allergic reactions. This is a very difficult decision, but because of worsening allergies and health issues, I can no longer provide the care he deserves. I am hoping to find a loving home where Levi can spend his senior years happy, comfortable, and well-loved.

I'm a sweet boy that found myself out on my own and when I came to the county shelter no one came to find me. I was sad until Act2Pups pulled me. Here I am enjoying security and learning that I am safe. I get along with my housemates. My foster mom thinks I'm house trained. I enjoy resting in an open crate. I guess I still need to feel safe so a crate is helpful. My foster mom thinks once I feel fully safe, I'll be a fun loving Pom!

Now I'm ready to find a wonderful home of my own with a family to love and be loved by! Perhaps you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came in with another dog, but I was a bit overwhelmed when meeting dogs at Mostly Mutts and was reactive during introductions. I think I might do best with a calm, female dog, so if you have a pup like this at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. If you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a friendly, happy, and very sweet pup with lots of love to give. The volunteers say I’m a sweet and wonderful dog, and a very loving one, too. For the Mostly Mutts photographer, I was described as an all-happy fluff pup - and that fits me perfectly! Speaking of fluff – I am the kind of dog that will need regular brushing to keep my fur looking good. / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, and ‘place’ commands as well as how to accept friendly strangers without jumping and proper door etiquette. I look forward to learning even more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / The crate is not my favorite place as I’d rather be out spending time with people. / I’ve only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love sitting in laps, playing with toys, and soaking up all the pets and affection you want to give. Being loved is one of my favorite things! / Other than the crate not being my favorite thing, like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.
