You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  DOB: 6/4/11 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Yes Weight: 15 pounds Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Requires a fenced yard: Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Are you looking for an older dog who is more laid back?  I’m no longer a puppy but eligible for my AARP card.  I’m not much into toys at this time or treats either, for that matter. I’m a bit more timid yet still friendly.  You see, lots of commotion is for those younger dogs.  I’m like your grandma.  I’ll watch and remember when I used to… I am crate trained (my friends say that’s like staying close to home) and potty training is close so long as you remember to keep me on schedule.  But I will need a fenced yard because I don’t like doing my business much in public.  Sometimes I will go for a walk but not all the time.  Just every so often.  I need to work on that a little bit more.  Also, I am fur-endly with dogs and cats.  And I only speak up (bark) when I’m alarmed.  I’d also like to have another dog in my home so I can gossip.  You see, I am just like your grandma – sweet and easy going. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.    *Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.      *Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a   particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello there, wonderful people! My name is Cuddles, and I'm here to steal your hearts with my gentle spirit and adorable Eskimo charm. I may be a senior gal, but let me tell you, age is just a number! I've still got plenty of love to give and cuddles to share. While I'm still learning to trust people completely, I'm a super sweet and laid-back girl who just wants to find a loving forever family to call my own. I'm not much of a playful pup—I prefer to spend my days lounging in a cozy dog bed, soaking up the sun, and eagerly awaiting treat time. Speaking of treats, I'm on a bit of a diet, so I only indulge in the diet-friendly variety. But hey, a girl's gotta watch her figure, right? Potty training is still a work in progress for me, but I'm getting the hang of it with a little patience and encouragement. On the bright side, I'm already crate and leash trained, so I've got that going for me! I get along great with other dogs and I require another doggie companion in my new home. Having a furry friend by my side helps me feel safe and secure, especially as I continue to get on a routine. Now, here's the most important question: are you ready to open your heart and home to a precious angel like me? I may be a girl of few words, but my heart is overflowing with love, and I'm ready to share it with you. With your patience, unconditional love, and promise never to give up on me, I know we can build a beautiful bond together. So what do you say? Let's embark on this journey together and make wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. I can't wait to meet you and begin our life together! With all my love, Cuddles *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello, lovely people! My name is Lexie, and I'm here to steal your heart with my gentle nature and adorable Eskimo dog charm. At my age, I've learned to appreciate the simple pleasures in life. I may be a senior, but let me tell you, there's still plenty of love left in this old heart of mine. You'll often find me lounging on a cozy dog bed, soaking up the sunshine streaming through the window, or curled up next to you on the sofa for some quality snuggle time. Treats are my weakness, and I won't hesitate to let you know when it's snack o'clock with a little bark or two! I may not be as sprightly as I once was, but I still enjoy a good routine. Daily time in the big backyard, meal times, and potty breaks outside are all part of my day-to-day life. Speaking of potty breaks, I'm doing my best to master the art of doing my business outside, but I appreciate having a potty pad indoors just in case. Now, let's talk about my vision. It's not as sharp as it used to be, which means I can sometimes get a bit spooked by unfamiliar things. That's why a fenced yard is a must for me—I need a safe space where I can explore and stretch my legs without worrying about getting lost. I'm a social butterfly and get along well with everyone, including children and other furry friends. In fact, I'd love nothing more than to have a canine companion in my forever home to keep me company and help me beg my people for treats – hee hee! All I'm missing now is a loving and patient family who will shower me with treats, cuddles, and plenty of affection. If you think you could be the one to give me the forever home I've been dreaming of, please don't hesitate to reach out. I promise to be the most loyal and loving companion you could ever ask for. Can't wait to meet you! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $500 plus tax Hey I am Rocket, I fly like one, too! Would you like to know a little bit about me? I'm Energetic* My favorite thing to do is be cuddled day and night, night and day. After that, my next favorite thing to do is work. Walks, yes, please! But if you have an actual job for me such as keeping watch on your farm, your large yard, or simply want to teach me oodles of awesome tricks, I'm your boy! Did I mention I love cuddles? I am very intelligent and intuitive.  I Like to be the top dog* What I am looking for in an owner: a sidekick, a ride or die friend for life, someone who will make me their number one dog, loyalty, gentleness, and understanding. I've tried living in a home with my litter mate(s). Look, other dogs are great - I won't hurt them -but I prefer being the only dog in your life. I like to butt out the competition to make room for myself, you see. And I'm very good at it, to boot. Cats are fine. Chasing them is fun but I promise I won't eat them.  I can be Vocal- No Shared Walls* Do you like to talk? Me, too!! I bark mostly when I go outside. You know, just doing you a favor by clearing the way vocally. But when I said I like to talk, I literally meant 'talk'. I make all kinds of words with all kinds of intonations which are not barks at all. Did I mention I'm smart? Sometimes I want my toy back and I'm asking you to get it for me, please. Sometimes, I would like your undivided attention. Sometimes, I'm hungry. And sometimes I talk back. (Shhh, don't tell my foster mom that I caught on to the fact that she adores that about me.)   I'm still learning* Sitting down when people enter the house rather than jumping on them to say hello, not barking so long when I go outside, and not pulling on the leash when I go for walks. I am still a puppy so I am making excellent progress, if you ask me!  What I know* I come when called, I sit, stay, and I used to heel on a leash but my foster mom let that one go (sarcastic fist-bump goes here), I understand the command 'off' (see above).  I'm pretty special* My fur is curly! Yep, I'm an American Eskimo with curly fur! That makes me even more rare! Though my fur looks as though it might be wiry - it is not. All of my fluff is as soft as a baby's new microfiber blanket!      If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lily, a 9 lb., 6.5 yr old Pomeranian X. She came into rescue after her first family decided she wasn’t wanted anymore and her second owner got cancer and could no longer care for her.  Lily has been through a lot of stress in her life time being largely ignored and then yelled at for barking and begging for attention. Because of this, she often becomes anxious from various triggers such as, watching someone get ready to leave or coming home after being out for a few hours that causes her to bark to tell you how upset she is. Sometimes Lily barks to tell you she needs attention or some kind of stimulation as well.   When she has felt traumatized, like after her spay, she retreats under a bed for long periods of time.    According to her last owner’s vet, Lily has pancreatitis so her diet has to be somewhat regulated. She came into rescue with lots of homeopathic remedies for this plus her anxiety. As her foster, I’m not certain if they make a difference but, I use them to keep things status quo. Despite all of her quirks, Lily is very sweet and loving. She looks for her human to sit down and offer a lap for her to jump on then, will turn on her back insisting to be held like a baby for pets and belly rubs.  Lily is also house trained and knows how to sit and stay nicely. She loves going for walks and playing with toys or playing games of chase in the yard. Most any form of positive attention makes her happy.   Other: Lily has a long, thick coat so regular grooming will be needed. Because of neglect most of her teeth had to be removed. She does well with eating most things but she’s used to a fresh diet from Chuck and Don’s that runs on the expensive side.  Her next home needs to be very patient and accepting of all of the baggage she comes with. She cannot be left alone all day and she can't be in a home with shared walls like a townhome because of her barking.  Lily is good with other animals and warms up to new people fairly  quickly.   Lily will be a wonderful pet for anyone with the time and patience to welcome her lovingly into their home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination.
