I must be adopted with Nala. ***I`m Lucky, a 12-year-old American Eskimo mix that came to Animal Ark with my bestie Nala after our family was experiencing some health issues.We are a bonded pair and must go home together. Technically I`m a senior, but I am active and playful. I enjoy playing fetch and tug. Staff have found us to be affectionate and energetic. We quickly became popular with volunteers, too! If a couple of young-at-heart dogs are what your family needs to feel complete, please submit and adoption application and come meet us!

I must go home with my bestie Lucky. *** My name is Nala, and I`m a 13-year-old American Eskimo mix that came to Animal Ark with my partner Lucky when our family was experiencing some health problems. We are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. My family said that I like plush toys and will play fetch and tug. Staff have found me to be friendly and affectionate, and we have quickly become popular with volunteers. If a pair of young-at-heart dogs that will brighten up your home sounds like a plan, submit an adoption application to come meet us.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This beautiful girl is Sangria. She came with 12 other Pomimos (American Eskimo/Pomeranian mixes), 2 adults, and 10 puppies. They all took their freedom rides from a local impound and joined Ruff Start Rescue!   This mom and the others came from a tough past where breeding spiraled out of control. The puppies had been nursing from two moms, Sangria and Chardonnay, and no one knew exactly who belonged with whom. To keep everyone safe and together, a foster welcomed both mamas and all the pups, so no one was left behind.    Sangria is a high-energy little gal who loves attention and being as close to you as possible. She is currently not a fan of being left a lot and will anxiously chew on items if not provided with chew toys. She is working on her stranger danger but loves to use her voice to let you know she sees you.   Sangria does great on her harness and leash. She has some hops and will jump up into my arms when she can. She is a nervous chewer but with a toy, or human she stays busy. Sangria is a very slow eater and would prefer pets over food anyday.   Sangria is looking for a home where she can get lots of attention and a family willing to help her find some confidence.  Sangria is from a local impound. Yes I shed seasonally-I have some Husky in me:) About Tindra: Meet Tindra — a name that means “sparkle” in Swedish, and one that fits her perfectly. ✨ Tindra is a sweet Pomsky girl who came to rescue from a hoarding situation and is experiencing the outside world for the very first time. She’s discovering the joy of normal dog activities and approaches them with gentle excitement and curiosity. Tindra has a medium energy level and enjoys going for walks, then happily curling up for a nap beside you or squeezing into the tiniest cozy space she can find. She gets along wonderfully with her dog and cat foster siblings and would love a home with playmates — whether human or animal. Tindra especially loves to wrestle, and at about 30 pounds fully grown, she’s a fun but manageable play partner. She doesn’t shed much, though she will need occasional brushing and trimming to manage her undercoat. Tindra may be shy with new people at first and might hide, but once she feels safe she becomes very affectionate and “Velcro-like.” She’s currently working on potty training and does well with pee pads. Praise-based training works best for her, as she’s not especially food motivated. With patience and love, Tindra will truly shine. Tindra is fixed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations appropriate for her age. Hello! Carmella became my pet when my ex-girlfriend decided to leave her with me back in 2014 when Carmella was a puppy, given to her by one of her dog grooming clients (my Ex GF had a dog grooming business in FL). Carmella has been with me since that time in 2024, trained as a puppy to be house trained and she knows a few tricks! She is a very lovable dog and great with kids. My recent personal life has changed and I'm frequently travelling outside of the country, and Carmella is often left to be babysat by family. However, family schedules are now tight as well. My daughter would love to take her, but her husband does not want to have a dog at the moment. About 4 years ago, my son brought home a cat and I was nervous about this, and it was a rocky relationship at first, but now Carmella and the cat are friends and play together. So Carmella can co-exist with a cat. Carmella loves to go on walks and play tug of war with rope or old sock. If I wasn't gone so much, I'd keep her.
