Chihuahua who was rescued from a noisy, overwhelming shelter — a scary place for such a little girl. But once she left that behind, her true personality started to shine! Harley is gentle, loving, and devoted — a little shadow who just wants to be near her favorite person.   Her foster says Harley is a total sweetheart who has quickly adapted to home life. Her mornings start around 6 a.m. with a quick potty break in the yard, followed by her favorite ritual: snuggling back into bed with her humans. Breakfast is served around 7, and she loves hunting for her kibble in a snuffle mat or treat puzzle. Harley enjoys a few short, brisk walks throughout the day, with plenty of time for cuddling in between. Her evenings end with dinner, a cozy lap session, and curling up in bed — ideally tucked under the covers beside her person, her absolute favorite place to sleep.   Harley’s personality is calm and affectionate. She’s a true lap dog and Velcro companion who thrives on closeness and attention. She loves being praised and melts into your arms for cuddles. She’s a low-energy, low-maintenance girl — more of a lounger than a hiker — who still enjoys sniffy strolls and the occasional chase after a squirrel. She’s alert and will give a few barks to announce visitors, but quiets quickly once she knows all is well.   Harley is working on her housetraining and doing well with frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement. She’s fine with gentle children, though their high energy can make her nervous, and is fine coexisting with other calm dogs, though she's not interested in playing and may be a bit put off by dogs with a ton of energy. She's a low-key lady!   What makes Harley special is how deeply she bonds with her person. She’s incredibly sweet, obedient, and full of love — the kind of dog who makes every day brighter just by being near you. Whether she’s snuggled into a blanket on the couch or curled up in bed, Harley’s happiest when she’s close to the person she adores.   If you’re looking for a tiny companion who will love you with her whole heart and make you feel like the most important person in the world, Harley is waiting to meet you.  December 22, 2025, 4:49 pm

Adoption fee: $600 Sponsored by Isla (8yrs old) who loves all dogsMeet Quinn At just 5 lbs, 4 year old Quinn is the definition of a pocket-sized sweetheart. This gentle little Chihuahua came to DPS after her owner passed away and was completely heartbroken and terrified in the shelter. With love and patience from her foster family, Quinn has blossomed into a devoted, affectionate companion who is ready to find a forever home of her own.   Quinn starts her day around 7am with a quick trip to the backyard, then enjoys a leisurely breakfast—mshe grazes throughout the day and often saves a few bites for dinner time. Her days are calm and cozy; she loves curling up in her foster mom’s lap or finding a sunny spot to watch the birds outside. In the evening, she goes for a relaxed stroll around the neighborhood before dinner. She walks beautifully on a leash and doesn’t bark or pull— just takes in the sights at her own pace.   When Quinn first arrived, she was too scared to leave her crate. But after a day of gentle encouragement, she began to trust her foster mom and soon became her little shadow. Quinn is a velcro dog at heart— she loves to be close to her person and will happily follow you from room to room—but she can also be left alone without issue as long as she has access to the yard for potty time. She’s housetrained, crate trained, quiet, and respectful in the home. While she's used to going potty in the yard, it's likely she could adjust to using potty pads in an apartment setting as well, so she's an option for folks who work outside the home and will be gone during the day.   While Quinn can coexist peacefully with other dogs, she would be happiest as the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. She’s okay meeting dogs on walks and has been calm around visiting kids and guests, though she’s initially shy with new people. Once she warms up, her loyalty and affection shine through— she’ll greet you joyfully when you come home and never let you feel alone.   Quinn would thrive in a calm home with patient adopters who understand that trust takes time but is well worth the wait. Her ideal family would have older kids or adults who appreciate a quiet, gentle companion and who find joy in a tiny dog who simply wants to be by their side.   Favorite things: sitting in the sun, watching the world go by, and being loved by her person.   In short: shy at first, deeply loyal once she knows you—Quinn is a little dog with a big heart who just wants someone to call her own.December 24, 2025, 6:30 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750 Savvy is a 4 1/2 month old, pocket-sized Chihuahua who weighs just about 5 pounds, and she is every bit as sweet and charming as her tiny size suggests. She is a true “little dog” puppy— adorable, affectionate, playful, and still very much figuring out the world with curiosity and joy.   Savvy’s day typically starts early, around 6:15am. While she would happily sleep in if given the chance, she’s gently encouraged out of her crate for a morning potty break in the backyard. Afterward, she comes inside and eats breakfast right away. She’s currently fed about ¼ cup of kibble three times a day—morning, lunchtime, and again by early evening—and enjoys treats sprinkled throughout the day. During work hours, Savvy happily settles in on a dog bed in the studio or curls up on the couch, often alongside the resident dog. She enjoys being near her people and likes having company, but she can also entertain herself with toys when the mood strikes. Afternoons include backyard time for sniffing, exploring, and playful zoomies with her canine buddy, as well as a walk around 4:30pm. Savvy is still learning the ropes when it comes to leash walking. She’ll walk for a bit, weaving around and exploring, and has successfully gone potty on walks, which is a great sign. Eventually, she may decide she’s had enough and politely sits on your foot to let you know she’d prefer to be carried. She’s a big fan of being held and especially enjoys riding in a dog carrier sling, where she snuggles in, peeks her head out, and calmly takes in the sights without barking at people or dogs passing by.   Evenings are all about toys, couch time, and cuddles. Savvy loves to sit on or right next to her people, soaking up affection. Before bedtime, she goes out for one last potty break around 9:30–10:00pm, then heads into her cozy crate for the night. She is crate trained and sleeps through the night, happily tucked into a little nest of blankets. While she doesn’t fuss in her crate and is very comfortable there, housetraining is still a work in progress. Savvy will potty outside when taken frequently, but she doesn’t yet signal when she needs to go. She is familiar with potty pads and occasionally uses them, though consistency is still developing. Patience, routine, and frequent potty opportunities will be key as she matures.   Personality-wise, Savvy is an absolute delight. She was briefly timid for the first few minutes in her foster home, then quickly decided that people are wonderful and love is meant to be shared freely. She is incredibly sweet, eager to please, and affectionate. She enjoys being carried, cuddling in arms, and staying close, often following her person from room to room. At the same time, she has a nice balance of independence and will happily chew on a toy or play on her own. She leans more toward being near her people, but without being demanding.   Savvy lives with a small dog and adores her. After a few days of adjustment, the two became great playmates. Savvy loves initiating play by jumping around and gently batting her friend on the head, then tearing around the yard in short, lightning-fast bursts of puppy energy. She has spent time around a teenager and enjoys the attention when it’s offered. Because of her very small size, a home without young children would be best to ensure her safety.   Savvy is a typical energetic puppy balanced by an impressive ability to relax and cuddle. She plays hard, then happily crashes for naps on the couch or dog bed. She doesn’t bark much at all, which has been a pleasant surprise, and she hasn’t shown any nuisance behaviors like destructive chewing or digging. She is currently teething and enjoys appropriate chew toys.   What truly sets Savvy apart is her instant sweetness and gentle temperament. She wags her tail the moment you look at her and seems genuinely happy just to be near you. She adapts easily, rides well in a carrier, and showers her people with affection. One of her foster’s favorite things about her is how calm and content she is when being held, despite her playful puppy side. She also has the cutest quirks, from her little chicken-leg sprawl when you pick her up to her talent for wiggling out of pajamas overnight and ending up “naked” by morning.   Savvy would thrive in a home that can provide lots of attention, companionship, and frequent potty opportunities, and that understands the patience required when raising a tiny puppy. She would likely enjoy having another small dog friend and could be a wonderful travel companion in a sling or dog purse. Above all, she is a joyful, loving little soul who brings smiles wherever she goes and is ready to give her whole heart to her future family.December 25, 2025, 6:29 pm
