Story
Ch-ch-ch-CHIWEENIE TIME!  Pumpkin is a 12-years-young, 18 pound sweetheart who’s a charmer on leash, lovely with new people, and friendly with the felines!  Pumpkin will do just about anything for a snack, and we’d bet that with the right treat, you can teach this senior baby any new trick you want! In fact he will show you just how much he loves to share your food by standing on his hind legs to do his best Dobby the House Elf impression — it’s adorable! He really does love his food, so he'd prefer that no one interrupt his meal times!  Crate-trained and not sensitive to sound, Pumpkin is an easy keeper — he loves a good morning walk, then a soft spot to nap the rest of the day away (with some snack and potty breaks worked in). While he’s not clingy, he does appreciate knowing you’re around and would make a perfect co-worker for your home office.  Pumpkin's perfect home would have one or two adults who aren't gone too often, just a few stairs if any, and regular access to potty areas. If Pumpkin is the cutie-companion you’ve been looking for, talk to us today! Denver, Colorado area adopters only please! adoptions@waggingdog.org http://waggingdog.org/April 26, 2024, 12:07 am

Story
Hello my name is Sam, short for Samantha. I am a three and a half year old Chihuahua/Miniature pincher mix spayed girl who weighs 22 pounds. (I am 14 inches tall and 13 inches from my collar to the base of my tail. My personality is super easy. I love wearing fancy purple pearl collars and I am an intelligent young lady. I am house-trained, kennel-trained, and love car rides. I know "sit" command and love walks. My ideal new family would be a person who wants a loyal companion, easygoing dog. No crazy barking, no potty training, just a sweet grateful little friend to enjoy life. My first family did not appreciate me and gave me up over a young puppy. My foster mom thinks I am pretty fabulous and certainly deserving of another chance at life. We look forward to Sam's future with a new family in a lovely new environment. Sam has been examined by our vet, she is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccines-dhpp, rabies, bordetella, canine influenza, & leptospirosis. Our vet has cleared her from any heart murmurs, luxating patellas, and any health conditions. All vaccines are given by our outstanding vet & vet techs. We email all veterinary records prior to adoption. Sam has tested heartworm negative (4/09/24) and is currently on Simparica Trio for heartworm and flea/tick prevention. We provide our rescued puppies and dogs with the highest quality veterinary care as our own pets receive. Proper veterinary care is our number one PRIORITY and it shows in the health of our rescued puppies and dogs. My adoption fee is $450 and transportation fee is $350 from Houston, Texas to Colorado. We use the highest standard transporter in the industry. We have many happy adopters on both West Coast, East Coast, and Canada. We are pleased to provide referrals upon request. Our greatest goal is to properly match a rescued pup with the perfect adopter. We have over twenty plus years experience in rescuing pets. It is truly our greatest joy.

Story
“More belly rubs, paw-lease,” pleads handsome four-year-old Hawk. At a fit 15 pounds, he’s fit in slowly but surely to life in his foster home, and, being blessed with the gentlest personality, loves nothing more than snuggling up on the couch with his foster mom and getting copious head and belly scratches. He also loves playing with his doggy foster friends, running around the yard, taking long naps in the sun and sleeping on the couch. Learning to heel on a leash for the walks he enjoys, Hawk is especially fond of chicken treats and bully sticks, answers to his name, currently knows “come” and “sit,” and is working on more. While he sleeps in his crate at night, he also curls up inside it throughout the day, rarely barks, and is almost fully house-trained. An ideal work-from-home companion, Hawk now hopes to find fur-ever love in a tranquil home without children or cats that will continue bolstering his confidence and complete his training, including his commands, in exchange for his own enduring loyalty and love. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375.  Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email  dogs@arrcolorado.org  for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
