Story
Mary & Jewels came into rescue after their mom passed away. They had been much loved but had to learn to trust people again. Luckily, their foster mom and dad are very experienced and they soon were exploring the back yard, playing with toys and even snuggling new human friends who came to visit! Stay tuned for more information as these 2 lovelies settle & we learn more about them. If you are interested in adopting Mary, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Mary's adoption fee is $xxx. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Mary will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Chihuahua

Male, 2 yrs
Marietta, GA
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Details
Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Tate wants a freedom ride! He was on an adventure when spotted and arrived to the shelter on 8/13. Tate is 2 years old and weighs 11 pounds. He is so very scared at the shelter and just wants to be held. He is not fond of a leash and will not walk with one on. Would you be his hero? Ask for ID# 661082 Run 517. He is current on vaccines and neutered; he will be micro-chipped upon adoption. Unfortunately, Tate tested positive for heartworms, but with treatment, dogs who tested positive usually go on to live long and healthy lives. If you are interested in adopting Tate, ask the shelter about fostering Tate to adopt while Tate undergoes heartworm treatment. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heart worm or combo test and a microchip.
