Story
Vixen is a 2 year old Pit mix who is just a full-figured, loving lady! Vixen is just a sweetheart who is ready to find her soulmate! She loves affection, giving kisses, and just sitting there looking pretty! Vixen will need a little bit of training from her new family, but we think she would catch on quickly! We are unsure how Vixen would do with other animals, but with people she is a doll. We haven't tried it here, but doesn't she just look like the kind of dog who would enjoy dressing up becoming Tik Tok famous?! We think everyone would love to see Vixen on the daily! This beautiful lady is a little on the chunky side, but that's just more of her to love right?!  The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Story
Addax is a 2 year old Pit mix who is very sweet and handsome. Addax is a nice medium sized dog who would be the perfect size for all different types of living arrangements. Addax came to us very skinny, but with some good groceries and some TLC, he is now ready to find his furever home! Addax is full grown but still has some puppy energy when he first gets out of his cage. He loves everyone that he has met so far, and we think he has the potential to be a great family dog! Addax has not met any other dogs in our care, so a meet-n-greet would be advised if you have other dogs.  The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Story
Frida is a sweet 3 year old girl with alllllll the energy of a puppy! She is not camera shy, and while a rocket of excitement at first, she calms down quickly and will drop anywhere (and we mean ANYWHERE) for some belly rubs. Frida is a very quick learner, and already knows the commands “sit” and “down” and would love to learn more! This girl is really special. While she seems a little intimidating in her cage, she is a doll outside of it! But that’s the thing, when you’ve been living at a shelter for over a year… you can’t help but get a little antsy. That’s not her fault though! Give her a chance and we are sure you’ll love her! She is very picky about other dogs (meet n greet strongly encouraged) but absolutely adores kids and would be perfect for anyone looking for a sweet family dog with a HUGE smile!   The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.   Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Story
Green Bean is a 2.5 year old Pit mix. This sweet boy has had a rough start to his life, but we are hoping that this time he can get a new 'leash' on life! Green Bean originally came to us in 2021 as a puppy. He was shy and thin, but with some work we were able to fatten him up and get him comfortable with people. He was adopted shortly after in early 2022. Since then, poor Green Bean has been abandoned numerous times, this last time being left by his owner when they moved to another state. Poor Green Bean is so confused as to why no one has given him a chance at forever! Green Bean is once again very skinny, and he will need some good groceries to bulk him back up to an appropriate weight. Even through all the hardships, Green Bean still loves EVERYONE! He loves people so so much. He is, however, in desperate need of training. Green Bean is active and has a lot of energy. He needs a patient family willing to work with him to help him be the best dog he can be! Green Bean needs lots of exercise and plenty of room to run around; he is not suitable for an apartment. Story
Meet Chippa!! This sweet girl was brought into Kay Animal Hospital with a broken leg from being hit by a car. Upon examination, she was also heartworm positive and not spayed. She had surgery to fix her leg, was spayed and went through heartworm treatment. She's good to go and eager for her forever family. She's still at Kay Animal Hospital and has been there a while so we are posting her as a courtesy in hopes of finding her a forever home. She's approximately 6-7 years of age, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative but is on daily heart medication (not expensive but required 2 times a day). She's submissive, low energy, loves people and children. She does well with other dogs but no cats please. She would be best in a home with minimal stairs but can manage fairly well if necessary. She is not food aggressive, loves to go for walks (great on and off leash), not a jumper but would love to play in a fenced in yard. She's a real snuggle bug, loves big fluffy beds and she loves squeaky toys. She absolutely loves children so the perfect home for her would be with a family with kids. Her adoption fee is $200 Applications will be forwarded to Kay Animal Hospital for consderation.    December 4, 2023, 10:08 am

Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullName: River Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Sex: Male Approx. DOB: 1/7/2022 Weight: 61 lbs Location: Smyrna, GA   RESCUING RIVER… River and another dog were found tied up in a park and were taken to animal control. The other pup was adopted, but River stayed. The shelters are full and unable to take pets in anymore while people are just dumping pets on the street. We had a foster step up to rescue River and his FREEDOM RIDE was on 1/7/23.   ABOUT RIVER… River is doing so well in foster care! He is an intelligent boy, learning everything so fast! He is house-trained and crate trained, and he loves sleeping on his large pillow in the crate at night. He is not suitable for a home with cats. Leash training has come a long way in the short time he has been with his foster. She has been working hard on the pulling from a large dog and he has been doing well with treat motivation and distraction. River is a great kid and would love a great family! ADOPTING RIVER… River is neutered, updated on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. He is on monthly preventative. He is eating Stella & Chewy Essentials Meadow Recipe grain-free dry dog food.  His adoption fee is $300.  If you are interested in meeting River or possibly adopting him, please complete an adoption application at:  https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application.  If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@friendstotheforlorn.org.www.savingpitbulls.orgDecember 4, 2023, 10:08 am
