Story
Milo’s story starts in a tough place. When he was born, he spent far too much time in a kennel that was much too small for a pup like him. Because of that, he has what we call “kennel feet,” and he missed out on learning about toys and play the way puppies should. But here’s the beautiful part — Milo never lost his love, his spirit, or his big, affectionate heart. Milo is a young pup full of personality. He’s a certified foodie — if it’s edible, Milo is interested! He’s also a bit of an energetic, easily-distracted guy (a little ADD never stopped him!), and he may whine a bit when he isn’t getting the attention he wants… but that’s only because he adores people. Truly, Milo thinks every human was put on Earth specifically to love him, pet him, and admire him. He gives the sweetest kisses, the kind that melt you instantly. Milo is still learning how to be a puppy — toys confuse him, but he’s trying! He’ll paw at them, stare at them, maybe boop them with his nose, but he hasn’t quite figured out what all the excitement is about. With patience and gentle encouragement, he’ll learn that toys can be fun and safe. He does do a little play nipping when he gets excited, but nothing a bit of training and consistency won’t fix. Milo is smart and eager to please; he just needs someone to guide him and show him the good life. And here’s a bonus: Milo is great with cats! He’s kind, curious, and respectful — a wonderful companion for a home with feline friends. What Milo wants most is a family who will give him the love he was denied early on — someone patient, gentle, and ready to show him the world is bigger than that little kennel he came from. In return, he’ll give you devotion, kisses, silliness, and all the heart a pup can offer. If you’re looking for a sweet, quirky, affectionate pup who just wants to be your whole world, Milo might be the perfect match.

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullBreed: Pit Bull Terrier Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: August 16, 2016 Size:  45 lbs Location:  Dallas, GA ABOUT CHIPPER Chipper is 7 years old and he is such a cool dog and absolutely beautiful!  Chipper is a super smart and happy boy.  He is medium energy, loves a good zoomie in the yard and loves a good couch snuggle fest. His perfect home would be with a family that is pitbull savvy and has a 6ft privacy fenced yard and also leash walks as Chipper enjoys getting out and about. Chipper would do best as an only dog. Chipper has been tested with children and has done fantastic with children ages 10+.  The kids were able to play with him, walk him, hang out inside playing and enjoy time on the swingset together.  Chipper listens well and falls into a structured routine quickly.  Chipper does not do well with cats.  He walks well on a leash and once he gets into a routine should do fine.  He is housebroken, crate-trained and loves riding in the car.  We are all hoping that someone out there can give this boy a chance to find the perfect family that can make him the center of their world.  He has a lot of love to give and is just the sweetest boy.  We have a volunteer that takes him to their home for the day and he does great and just lounges on the couch and chews bones.  He is really a great dog that yearns for the day to have a family again. If you are interested in learning more about Chipper or meeting him please email adopt@friendstotheforlorn.org.  You can also complete an adoption application online at:  https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application/   Photo Album of Chipper: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1423728577685304.1073742181.162554320469409&type=1&l=0b34799622 Our adoption fee is $300.00.   Chipper is neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, microchipped and on heartworm/flea/tick preventative.  He is eating Premium Grain Free dry dog food.  www.savingpitbulls.orgNovember 4, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Meet Chippa!! This sweet girl was brought into Kay Animal Hospital with a broken leg from being hit by a car. Upon examination, she was also heartworm positive and not spayed. She had surgery to fix her leg, was spayed and went through heartworm treatment. She's good to go and eager for her forever family. She's still at Kay Animal Hospital and has been there a while so we are posting her as a courtesy in hopes of finding her a forever home. She's approximately 6-7 years of age, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative but is on daily heart medication (not expensive but required 2 times a day). She's submissive, low energy, loves people and children. She does well with other dogs but no cats please. She would be best in a home with minimal stairs but can manage fairly well if necessary. She is not food aggressive, loves to go for walks (great on and off leash), not a jumper but would love to play in a fenced in yard. She's a real snuggle bug, loves big fluffy beds and she loves squeaky toys. She absolutely loves children so the perfect home for her would be with a family with kids. Her adoption fee is $200 Applications will be forwarded to Kay Animal Hospital for consderation.    November 4, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullName: Layla Approx. Age: 8 years Breed: Pitbull Mix Sex: Female Location: Stone Mountain, GA RESCUING LAYLA Layla was found, alone in a crate with a letter attached. The letter read “Hello, my name is Layla. I am 8 years old, and my owner lost his home. I was loved for 8 years. He is truly sorry to do this to me. He tried no kill shelters, but no one would take me. I am a good girl that prefers male dogs over females. I’m laid back. Please don’t have me killed.” She is on to a better life after her FREEDOM RIDE on 4/4/22. ABOUT LAYLA Layla is just the sweetest! She seems to be a laid-back girl- a total couch potato. She is already housebroken, and crate trained. Layla is a rockstar around dogs and kids, but would enjoy a house better without cats. She walks well on a leash and is used to leash walking for potty breaks but will pull to get back inside on her couch.  She seems to be doing well with her foster siblings. She is food motivated (almost too much as she easily packs on the pounds) and loves to please her owners! Layla loves to chew on bones and lay on comfy beds, but her favorite is the couch of course.  She does fine in a crate as long as she has a comfy spot.  She is a true velcro dog too.  She would love a low-key family and does not need a lot of exercise; she just wants affection! Is that your family who can give her the affection and love that she needs? ADOPTING LAYLA Layla is spayed, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped. She is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative. She is eating premium grain-free dry dog food. Her adoption fee is $300.
