Story
Zorro is a happy and friendly dude. He loves meeting new people and has yet to meet someone he doesn’t like! Zorro has been friendly towards other dogs and appears to want to play. Zorro did arrive to the shelter as a stray so we do not know if he has lived with other animals, but we can provide a dog meet and greet if needed! Zorro has been on his best behavior and is a people pleaser. He is still learning new things but is doing great! Zorro knows the cue “sit” and walks well on a leash. We don’t know if Zorro is completely potty trained, but we anticipate him doing well once he has a more regular routine! Zorro has medium energy. He will be happiest with regular exercise and playtime! He always enjoys going on a nice walk, but this weather has been a little chilly for him! Zorro is wiggly and has the cutest little happy trot. He has a happy go lucky personality and is patiently waiting to find his forever home!

Story
Archer is a 4-year-old pit and Lapponian herder (close relative to a Norwegian elkhound) mix who weighed nearly 70lbs at intake!11/08/24 This handsome lovebug is Archer, and he is looking for a home where he can be the only animal. In his previous home, Archer had been getting along fine with the other dogs until his best friend passed away a few months ago. Since then, Archer has become increasingly intolerant toward the other dogs in the home, especially around food. We reccomend Archer be at least the only dog in his next home. He does not have experience with cats, but his previous owner did not think he would do well with them either due to his high prey drive toward small animals and livestock. Archer was said to do wonderful with small kids and babies! He was described as being gentle when playing, and he's very good at alerting to strangers by barking. His previous owner said he would bark at strangers walking by if the kids were out playing in the yard, and he will bark initially if a stranger enters the house but calms down after he gets to know them. He was said to mind well and do well in the car. He is also said to be kennel trained and housebroke, though he may mark occasionally when first introduced into a new home. Archer is a sensitive guy who loves his people and hates hard floors! He will bark at tile and hardwood floors if there is not a rug for him to walk on! He can be a vocal and has been known to get into the trash if given the opportunity, but he makes up for it with his cuddles! If you are looking for a single dog that wants to cuddle up and be the center of your world, give the shelter a call about Archer!November 11, 2024, 8:56 pm

Story
Wilson (A131160) is a 2-year-old pittie x malinois mix who weighed over 60 lbs at intake!11/02/24 This handsome guy is Wilson! Wilson arrived at the shelter as a stray and was not picked up by his previous owner. Wilson has previously arrived at the shelter as a stray, so he is looking for a home that will help keep him contained! We do not know specifics about Wilson's history, but he has been very outgoing while at the shelter. We have noticed that Wilson can be very pushy and vocal toward other dogs, so he may prefer to be the only dog in his next home. We do not know how Wilson does with other animals, such as cats or pocket pets, and urge you to use caution when introducing him to any and doing so in a slow and controlled manner. At the shelter Wilson has been very hyperfixated on the smaller critters he has walked by and would do best in a home without the temptation of small animals to chase. We also do not know how Wilson does with children, but he can be pretty rowdy. Please keep this in mind if you have little ones in the house. Wilson has done well keeping his kennel clean here, so he may be housebroken. He could also highly benefit from a basic obedience class with a certified trainer! If you are interested in this rowdy young man, please give the shelter a call!November 12, 2024, 3:02 pm

Story
Spencer (A136301) is a 1-year-old Pitbull mix who weighed 55.2 pounds on intake! 10/16/24 This handsome boy is Spencer! Spencer was surrendered to the shelter and is in search of his new place to call home. He was said to be quite stubborn and is looking for a patient owner to work with him. We highly encourage bringing him to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners. Spencer was said to be kennel trained but was said to not be housebroken or to know any basic commands at this time. He was said to do well with people of all ages, including babies and children! Spencer was also said to do well with other dogs but should go to a home without cats. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with any and all new friends. Spencer is a young do eager to learn, and in the right home, we are sure he will make an excellent companion! If you are interested in meeting Spencer, please let us know! November 14, 2024, 9:24 pm
