Story
I got Duke from a former coworker. Her dog had puppies and I picked him. He was born May 26th, 2022 so he is currently a year and four months old. He's an inside dog but loves outside. It breaks my heart to even put him on here but with the busy work schedule I have, it's not fair to him that I don't have the time for him that he deserves. He's a very social and sweet dog, loves other animals as well as children, but his current living situation is just me, and then two cats who don't like him. He gets a lot of love from me, but I do work from home so a lot of his time is spent lazing around inside while I'm on calls. On top of that, he doesn't get trips to the vet like he should. So what I'm looking for in a new home for him is someone who not only has the time for him but also patience, as he will test you. He does have a streak of dominance in him, but there's not a mean bone in his body. He also needs a place where he can run around and be a dog, and still get all the love.

Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Pitbull Terrier Estimated Date of Birth: 5/6/2013We’re not sure why this big ol meathead hasn’t been snapped up yet but we’d love to see Choco enjoy his retirement years in a home of his own. This big boy has been with us for over a year. We originally pulled him from the City Shelter along with 8 other dogs during our Give Big Kern fundraiser last year. Choco is a lovable hunk who is past the craziness of puppyhood and ready for a soft bed and of course all the toys which he would prefer not to share. We hate that it’s taking so long for him to find his people. Senior dogs thrive in home environments and Choco would love a life away from the craziness of the ranch. He’s very affectionate and loves people and for the most part just ignores other dogs. He’s very toy motivated and still has some spunk for those who love the seniors but also want a dog that enjoys playtime. He’s a great boy and he’s more than ready to find his perfect home. So if you have a soft spot for the thick boys and would love to give a senior pup some amazing last years apply to make Choco part of your family. Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Pitbull xAge: 9 months old Ziggy is one lucky dog! Not only did this boy score an amazing foster home to recover in when he was at the shelter but his leg injury has healed up considerably. What doctors thought was going to be an amputation is now healed and he gets to keep his leg! Definitely a very lucky boy! And we’re hoping Ziggy’s good luck will help him land the perfect forever home. He’s a bit shy with humans so will need a patient and understanding family but we promise he will reward that patience with every once of loyalty he can muster. Other fun dogs are a plus as he LOVES canine friends. So don’t delay bring this lucky charm home today If you are interested in adopting a Marley's Mutts please fill out an application at http://marleysmutts.org/adoptionprocess/

Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Pitbull xEstimated Birth Date: 1/7/2021If you’re looking for a hunky dude with a heart of gold meet Monk! This boy has the whole package. Not only is he super handsome but he has a wonderful happy go lucky nature that just draws you in. Seriously what’s not to love! Monk has a moderate energy level and does great with other dogs. Hes great in his crate and was a very clean dog in his temporary foster home. He’s extremely sweet and affectionate and we’ll never know why he ended up at our county shelter or why his humans didn’t look for him. Monk is such a great dog we knew he’d be the perfect addition to our Pawsitive Change Prison program. He joined the crew going into North Kern prison and spent several months learning basic obedience skills. He picked everything up super fast! The skills he learned in prison make him an even more amazing dog and we hope those skills get you to take a second look. Monks original family may have abandoned him but their loss is our gain and we know we can find Monk a family as amazing as he is. If you love his dark good looks, need a dog friendly, playful pup that has a solid training foundation give this gorgeous guy a chance and apply today! Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Pitbull xEstimated Birth Date: 5/3/2022Kramer was the wild one of the bunch as a young pup and has matured into a beautiful attentive boy after his 3 month stay in our Pawsitive Change program at North Kern State Prison. Kramer had a rough start. He and his siblings found themselves abandoned at our county shelter. They and 90 others inundated the shelter. Thankfully we have amazing local shelters who work hard to get dogs out. They put out a plea for help and we pulled 9 puppies including Kramer and brought them to our ranch. Kramers tough beginning meant he’d earned every once of good we could give him. But all that affection had to be paired with a solid balance of rules and boundaries which Kramer received in our prison program. He spent 3 months at North Kern State Prison learning basic obedience skills which have helped make him a more well rounded dog and he’s now ready to be an amazing family member. Kramer is looking for a fun family to call his very own. Because he has a solid training foundation we’d love to see him with a family that will continue to enforce what he’s leaned. He’s super sweet and just oozes affection. He loves other dogs, loves to play but can also settle right down for a snuggle session. If you’ve been looking for a really good dog with some training you don’t want to let this boy pass you by. Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: Pitbull Estimated Date of Birth : 03/08/2022Our shelter pulls of large and medium size dogs has slowed way down. It’s hard to help when our rescue ranch is bursting at the seams and our foster homes are full. But when we have room we try our hardest to help and we always try to give the pitties a chance. So many beautiful pitties like this gorgeous girl we’ve named Domino. Like almost all pitties she needed rescue help to make it out of the shelter. Unfortunately with the stigma that has followed her breed many pitties are euthanized without ever having the opportunity for a 2nd Chance. Domino is getting her chance in our Pawsitive Change prison program. She has headed into our Victorville woman’s program. With her insanely blue eyes and fun and active personality she’s going to fit right in. She loves, loves, loves all kinds of adventures and has quickly become a master leash walker and hiker. She’s an athlete by nature and has gravitated towards all of the physical activities Pawsitive Change offers. She loves fetch, scent work and extended walks. Basically she wants to be fulfilled and the program is giving her the training she needed and a sense of purpose. She’s good with other dogs with the appropriate introductions and although shy initially warms up to new people quickly.Once graduated Dominos perfect home would be with an active fun family willing to keep her mentally and physically stimulated. She wants nothing more than to be your adventure dog and join in on all those hikes and camping trips you have planned. With her compact size (38lbs) she’s pretty portable making her an easy addition to most activities. If you’ve been looking for a fun and beautiful new best friend Domino just might be the girl for you!
