Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Pit BullEstimated Date of Birth : 04/16/2024The soul of a fighter with the past of the most heartbreaking underdog Titans courageous spirit is only overshadowed by his larger than life heart. This sweet boy is pure love and everything we fight for in dog rescue. He’s the reason rescue exists. To help those most in need when all hope seems lost. Despite everything he’s been through Titans will to live and kind nature were never lost. He wants the kind of home and family who will cherish him for the rest of his life. The kind of family he’s never been lucky enough to know. Titan has only known pain, suffering and the worst humanity has to offer. Somehow he still knew people could be good and he dragged his body dirty, beaten down and bloody into a local shop. His wounds were consistent with a dog attack and his body bore the scars of what appeared to be repeated older attacks. This sweet boy had litterally been another dogs punching bag. But he had come to the right place and found people who cared. That shop owner contacted another local rescue who then reached out to us. Titan officially had a rescue plan which included getting the medical care he so desperately needed. Titan now has a future that looks bright. His wounds have mostly healed and he has shown us time and time again just how resilient he is. He’s been wonderful with everyone dog and human alike. This beautiful boy is so ready to find a family to love and wants nothing more than to be with people. Currently he resides at our rescue ranch which has been really hard for him because what he really wants is a home and all the love that home can give. If you’re as touched by the underdogs as we are you have to take the opportunity to meet Titan. His story, his spirit and most of all his ability to still love will absolutely touch your heart. Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Pit Bull TerrierEstimated Date of Birth : 09/10/2023If handsome, playful, sweet and fun is what you’re looking for then Sully is definitely going to be the one! This big boy is a gorgeous hunk of love. With his ear to ear grin he draws you in and then showers you with all kinds of affection. So far he’s loved every human he’s met. And fun? This boy loves fetch! He’s always down for a game or two and is happiest when he’s bringing stuff back to you. Sully is an awesome boy looking for an equally awesome family and sadly he’s been looking for awhile. Picked up in Rosemond, a rural area of Kern County, Sully waited at the shelter for a month to be noticed. He was big, beautiful and very friendly. But no one noticed him. No one was interested in adopting a big black pittie no matter how friendly he seemed. Sully was added to the shelters euthanasia list. Our public shelters don’t have the space to hold dogs indefinitely and so dogs with no interest run out of options. But we saw Sully and so did several shelter advocates who were working hard to save his life. Sully got his break and has joined our crew at our rescue ranch. During his stay at our ranch we’ve discovered Sully can be a little insecure with other dogs. Ranch staff have been slowly working on intros to boost his confidence. He walks well on leash and is picking up some basic obedience skills. Sully is adoption ready and just needs to find his perfect home. A home full of love and just as much affection as we can guarantee he will bring. Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: Pit Bull Estimated Date of Birth : 03/06/2017Age is just a number and Harriet’s here to wiggle her cute little brindle self right in to your lap and heart! Yes she’s absolutely a lap buddy but the couch or bed will do too. She’s not picky. Just being with her humans is the thing that makes Harriet the happiest girl alive. And that’s what she’s looking for humans she can shower with love. She’s a lover of all the things…..every person she’s ever met, other dogs she’s just a good, sweet girl looking for the perfect retirement home. Shes chill. Basically a couch potato sort of dog who loves belly rubs and won’t destroy your stuff. We just know we can find the perfect home for a dog like Harriet. Who wouldn’t love a happy, smiley senior pittie. We know we do! And we weren’t the only ones to fall for this sweet girl. Harriet had a whole fan club at the shelter. They loved her so much she kept getting extensions in their efforts to save her life. Harriet was at the shelter for 60 days! That’s a really long time for our overcrowded shelter to hold any dog. Harriet really did have a whole bunch of guardian angels looking out for her. The moment one of our amazing fosters said yes we had her out and Harriet has never looked back. There are so many benefits to adopting an older dog and Harriet is hoping all her positives will convince you she’s the one. She knows stuff like walking on leash and sitting for treats. She’ll even talk for her treats and takes them so nicely. She’s perfect in her crate and actually loves it. It’s her favorite little den when the humans aren’t home to hang out with. She’s playful and will totally play ball but isn’t obsessed and as soon as you’re done she’s happy to be done too. She loves her toys and never destroys them. Shes a happy nonreactive girl who isn’t overly bothered by the reactivity of other dogs. She just ignores their naughtiness. Harriet is a gem and can’t wait to find her people. Think those people might be you? Get that application in so this sweet girl can have the home and family she’s been waiting for! Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Pit Bull Estimated Date of Birth : 01/24/2021Freedom he’s as sweet as he is handsome. How could you not love his big mushy face. He’s literally the pittie right out of everyone’s favorite TV show The Little Rascals. Just like his TV doppelgänger he loves to run and play and he loves every human he’s met. Such a good boy who deserves the best life can give him. We’re here to ensure that his 2nd Chance at life gives him just that! Despite his happy go lucky nature Freedoms life has not been happy or very lucky. This sweet boy was part of the 50+ dog hoarding case in California City. He was starved and forced to live in a tiny crate resulting in wounds developing on his lower extremities. A happy and active dog litterally wasting away when he should have been saved. But Freedom was finally saved and has never looked back. He’s thriving at our ranch and is now healthy enough to find his forever home. Freedom has a very high drive to please. He wants nothing more than the acceptance people give and is willing to work hard to get your approval. He loves every person he’s ever met familiar face and stranger alike and is ready to shower you with loads of pittie affection. He likes other dogs too but needs the appropriate introductions to ensure compatibility. Some canine energy levels make him a little unsure and uneasy. This big boy has been though a lot but he’s come out the other side on top! We can’t wait to show him how much better it can get from here by finding him his forever home. Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: Boxer xEstimated Date of Birth : 09/14/2022Sometimes 2nd chances don’t work out the way you want them to and sometimes dogs can no longer stay in their adopted homes. But dogs like Laika are resilient and they will bond again they just need their chance to meet new humans to care for. Laika has so much love to give. She lives for human companionship. She thrives in a home setting so adjusting to our ranch environment has been a little hard for her. Thankfully her time in doggie daycare while adopted has given her the positive social skills she needed to live with dozens of other dogs in our rescue ranch setting but still Laika wants her own home. Laika started her journey with us in 2022 as a tiny 6 week old underage puppy. She and her littermates were all almost identical in looks and had all been dumped when a Good Samaritan brought them into the shelter. We pulled the whole litter and they all quickly came down with parvo. Every puppy was a fighter and every puppy survived under the medical care of our vets. Laika finally found an adoptive family at 4 months old. That family sadly a year later had their own medical complications and Laika came back into our care. This sweet girl has been through a lot but she’s ready to start over and find a new home. During her time with us we have discovered that she suffers from a seizure disorder. Thankfully seizures in dogs are easily controlled with medication and our vet has gotten her started on the meds she will now take for life. Laika has so much love to give we are hopeful her disorder doesn’t deter future adopters. It really is so easy to treat and Laika deserves to have a family to love imperfections and all. If they’re looking for a dog friendly walking buddy who’s great on leash, if you’re looking for a super affectionate girl who has some house skills from her time adopted Laika just might be the dog for you. Please give her the chance to fall in love with a family again. If you are interested in adopting a Marley's Mutts please fill out an application at http://marleysmutts.org/adoptionprocess/
