Story
Buddy is our resident football fanatic and cheeseburger fiend! He has spent much of his life in our shelter, so we'd love to find him a loving forever home as soon as possible. This cuddle bug loves pets and toys. He's very sweet and highly intelligent, and would benefit from someone who can provide him with consistent mental stimulation. He's an affectionate "leaner" who will gently lean in on you to soak up all the loving he can get. He's housetrained, and he walks well on his leash. Buddy's socialization skills need some work, so we think he'd do best in a home with no dogs or cats. He's neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots, and we believe he's a purebred American Pit Bull Terrier. Our kennel manager says, "When I take him out on walks he loves to sit and snuggle to watch the birds." Buddy is the perfect candidate for a person or couple looking for a four-legged companion to spoil. If you think you're his perfect match, meet him at our adoption center at 639 Airport Road or give us a call at 904-321-1647!

Story
This bashful little gentleman was taken into our rescue after befriending a man walking to Pennsylvania in June. Due to the hot pavement, Nick, unfortunately, developed blisters, resulting in the man carrying him for about a mile before both found rest in the shade from our front trees. Though Nick runs on the small side for pits, his loving personality is enough to fill a room. Ever polite, Nicky patiently waits his turn for meals and playtime. He has been known to give leg hugs to those he has established relationships, and will routinely check in on you to ensure your well-being as you go about chores. He loves dips in the kiddie pool, collecting and showing toys of a wide variety, and sampling local snack spreads. One of his secret (but oh so unique traits) is the noise he will occasionally make when playing with a toy; some would say it resembles that of Daffy Duck! If you are interested in adopting Nick, please note that you will need to meet Pet Rescue North’s general requirements of a fenced yard, a vet reference, no children under the age of 6, and must be a permanent resident of Jacksonville.

Story
This handsome gentleman was found as a stray after what seems to have been a rough start in life. Gunner is a loyal and playful friend, especially with his kennel neighbor, Diamond. He will patiently wait for her before running out to play in the yard or plopping into the kiddie pool. Gunner is shy upon first meeting someone, but once that trust is built, he shows excitement with subsequent interactions. One of his sweetest traits is his desire to be your shadow and help with whatever it is you may be doing, as he simply wants to be part of your day. With his cautious nature, he is more comfortable around women so will do best in a home with a lady to call his own. Please note, however, that he has not shown aggression to men. He gives them a wide berth and seems to take much longer to trust a man, likely due to his past experiences. If you are interested in adopting or fostering this sweet soul, contact Peggy at 904-477-1000 or PRNorth@yahoo.com. To adopt or foster, PRN requires the following: fenced yard, vet reference, no children in the home under the age of 6, and must be a permanent resident of the Jacksonville area.
