Story
When you meet Mimosa, you will understand immediately where the expression, “melts in your arms” comes from. Mims loves to love. She is truly an example of how resilient a dog can be, in spite of their past. Mimosa was seized from a neglect case with other dogs who all looked more like skeletons, and she was being the best mom to two little babies at the same time. Mimosa is now learning all about the good life thanks to her amazing foster family. Even the couch, which was once a spooky object, is now the place she jumps to happily. Mimosa is even taking group training classes thanks to our friend Savannah at @savvydt , which is building her confidence in new spaces, around new dogs, and she is learning all sorts of good behaviors and commands! Mimosa loves every person she meets, is good with kids, is cat safe but is still learning not to chase if the cat is a runner, and is dog selective. Her foster family says she is an angel who loves to help with yard work - especially if dirt is involved, likes to explores new breweries and lunch spots, has the best sploots and full body wags, and just truly aims to make you feel like the most special person in the world. Mimosa’s ideal dog friend would be one who respects boundaries. She prefers slower intros, as we have found she gets uncomfortable and defensive if a dog she does not know invades her space too quickly, though once she trusts her dog friend she trusts fully, and she actively plays with her foster sister currently. She is not reactive, and goes on outtings around other dogs and trains with other dogs without issues. We have seen Mimosa grow so much since we got her, and every day she learns a little more how safe and loved she is, and we can’t imagine how much MORE amazing this lady is going to be even a couple months from now. Mimosa starts heartworm treatment next week, and we are so grateful she is getting to do her healing in a safe space with us. She is still looking for her forever home, so If you think Mimosa may be the girl for you, message us or reach out at 904-392-3416 and check out our story for more cuteness! April 12, 2025, 7:37 am

Story
Tank came to us 8 years ago and he is 11 years old. He had been tied up outside for four years. When the owner decided he didn't want Tank any longer, he stopped feeding him so that he would starve to death.  When Tank came to us, he was 30 pounds underweight, malnourished, and severely heartworm positive. He was such a sweet, loving boy. It didn't seem possible that he could have been treated so poorly and still have faith in humans. But he does! We treated him for heartworms and then found out that he had mast cell cancer. After two surgeries, Tank remains cancer free.  Tank needs a foster or furever home! He is a 6 year old, American Bulldog mix. He is a 75 lap dog! He loves people. Tank is very happy just to spend time with his person(s). He loves to ride in the car. His issue is that he is dog aggressive. He can't be around other animals.  Tank is looking for a home that has a fenced yard. He would need to be the only animal. Tank is very strong, so it would be necessary for his new parents to be available to work with him on a leash. We are very willing to provide training for him.  Tank has stolen all of our hearts. He needs us now. Please, let's not let him down. If you know someone who maybe a good human for Tank, please pass this information along.    ##133156##

Story
Brenda is buttery sweet and oh so gentle. She is a natural good girl. At the shelter she came from she was so good she even became an office dog, hanging out with everyone during their work day. When we picked her up she just plopped right down in the seat and said alright lets go! Brenda finally completed heartworm treatment and was about to get the all clear when a couple masses were discovered. We are working to get those removed and tested to make sure that she is as healthy as she can be but she is looking for a foster or adoptive home in the meantime! Reach out to us for more info to get yourself the girl of your dreams. April 18, 2025, 3:01 pm
