Story
Tank came to use two years ago when he was 4. He had been tied up outside for four years. When the owner decided he didn't want Tank any longer, he stopped feeding him so that he would starve to death.  When Tank came to us, he was 30 pounds underweight, malnourished, and severely heartworm positive. He was such a sweet, loving boy. It didn't seem possible that he could have been treated so poorly and still have faith in humans. But he does! We treated him for heartworms and then found out that he had mast cell cancer. After two surgeries, Tank remains cancer free.  Tank needs a foster or furever home! He is a 6 year old, American Bulldog mix. He is a 75 lap dog! He loves people. Tank is very happy just to spend time with his person(s). He loves to ride in the car. His issue is that he is dog aggressive. He can't be around other animals.  Tank is looking for a home that has a fenced yard. He would need to be the only animal. Tank is very strong, so it would be necessary for his new parents to be available to work with him on a leash. We are very willing to provide training for him.  Tank has stolen all of our hearts. He needs us now. Please, let's not let him down. If you know someone who maybe a good human for Tank, please pass this information along.    ##133156##

Story
We found Rainbow roaming on a major highway. He jumped right in the car. He is microchipped but when we contacted his people they informed us that they cant take him back. We offered to take him on knowing that we couldnt be his forever home. We already have 3 dogs and 3 cats. We did introduce him to our animals but they were terrified of him. He was not aggressive with them but his previous owner said he likes to chase cats and is good with other dogs until provoked. Im not sure what that means but he is a big boy so we dont want to find out. He is a sweet boy with a lot of energy. He seems to love all people. He has not exhibited any grumpiness or food aggression. He has not had a single potty accident in the house. He whines at the door to be let out for potty breaks. The only down side I can see of him is that he just wants to be loved so much, he does not like to be left alone. The ideal home is one with no other pets, older kids or no kids. We can assist with relocation.

Meet Larry! His foster mom says he is a 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend! This chill, love bug has done great with big and small dogs. He prefers friends of the canine and human variety, so please no cats. He has wonderful manners while roaming the house by himself. One of his best friends is a young kid in the home. He is housetrained and pretty low maintenance. He does have a heart issue but that hasn't stopped him from being the 100% good boi that he is! Please email clayfosters@claycountygov.com to arrange a meet and greet or for more information!
