Lefty was saved by local animal control. He with 5 other siblings were neglected and starved in a home with humans that need help caring for themselves. It was a happy ending for all as they were able to get help and these puppies were all fully vetted and finding homes of theor own. Lefty is the last of the group. He is very very smart and driven to learn. He has a high food drive and learns quickly. We feel he would be great with anything but must be kept busy and must continue training and socialization. He would greatly enjoy a family with no small.children and a fenced in yard. He is very protective over his food with other animals with other animals. In time and with consistency he can learn that he will never be starved again. He loves to play with other dogs he is a bit much for cats and small squeaky dogs. He is fully vetted and ready for his family to find him

My name is Woofus and I am a brown brindle pit bull. I am a neutered male and I am 4 years old. I am at the shelter because I was found as a stray on 02/26/2024. I am potty trained. I am a high energy dog and I will need an owner with some prior pet owning experience. The shelter staff is not sure if I am used to being crated during the day, although I do well in my large kennel at the shelter. I do pull on my leash when being walked and need to work on my manners, so basic obedience training would be good for me. I do already know some basic commands like `sit` and `shake`! I would like a standard height fence to help keep me inside the yard, or lots and lots of walks on leash to help me burn off my energy. I can be good with men, women, and children over 10 years old. I can be good with other dogs and I cannot live with cats. All dogs are tested for heartworms and given flea preventatives. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, rabies, and bordetella, spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.
