Story
This velvety smooth tan hippo is none other than Acorn! Acorn has unfortunately been a familiar face at the LASPCA since 2022 when she was originally surrendered along with another dog due to no fault of their own. Since then, Acorn has been dealt an unfair paw and experienced a revolving door of families and homes only to find herself back at her stomping grounds. She's the best girl and has proven to be resilient, no matter how many times her circumstances change. We are baffled as to why such a stellar dog and amazing companion has experienced so many ups and downs in her young life.Acorn is perfectly poised and quiet in her kennel despite the fray and loudness of being in a noisy environment. She LOVES going for walks and her yard zoomies are the cutest to witness! She has perfect manners and will calmly climb up for hugs. She is fantastic with other dogs and will engage in play with other canines, or respect the boundaries of more introverted or dominant dogs. She is cool, calm, and collected no matter the human or dog she encounters, and is all around just an easy, breezy gal.Acorn recently attended an adoption event, as well as the Pawdi Gras parade where she was able to showcase all of the attributes and qualities we adore and she did not disappoint! She was predictably perfect with children and other dogs, and loved relishing in the attention from bystanders that she so deserves!Acorn continues to remain hopeful in that her string of misfortunes will change and that someone will embrace her and commit to her for a lifetime. She is a treasure of a dog and we know that her wait to forever will be worth it for her and her lucky human!

Story
I am a fun loving, well behaved girl that loves to play and snuggle. I'm kennel trained, potty trained, I listen to commands and I get along well with other dogs. I haven't lived in a house with cats but I do chase the ones that end up in my backyard so I probably would do better in a cat-free home. I do fantastic in social situations, am great at hanging out at Dat Dog or TchoupYard and I love to go on car rides - so you can take me anywhere! I love yummy treats and I'll gladly snack on any ice cube that accidentally falls out the freezer. Likes: Snacks. Playing fetch with a tennis ball. Zoomies in the backyard. Walks. Soft toys (and removing their squeakers and stuffing). Naps on the couch. Laying outside in the sun. The Saints & Pelicans Dislikes: Thunder & thunderstorms. Walmart King Cake. Balls bigger than a tennis ball that don't squeak. The Falcons Things I'm good at: Riding in the car. Using a doggy door. Walking on a leash. Playing with other dogs. Being cute. Alerting you that I see someone outside the window. Sitting & laying on command. Not running out the door when you get home or when someone comes in. Baths (although I don't love them!) Things I'm getting better at: Sharing my toys with other dogs

Story
Meet Tobias the Gentleman! Tobias is a distinguished young pup with a coat of sleek, coppery fur that gleams in the sunlight. This ray of sunshine has a squishy face (perhaps he's part Dogue de Bordeaux?) and a bright, warm personality that makes him an absolute joy to be around. Tobias is friendly and outgoing, he loves meeting new people and having his cheeks squished (it's hard to resist that adorable face). Like a true social butterfly, he loves nothing more than getting out and about. He would love to have someone accompany him on walks and hang out with him at local restaurants, breweries, or coffee shops. Tobias has been an excellent companion when going on outings, and has been a complete gentleman when passing by other people (including children) and dogs. Tobias would thrive in a household where he can be an integral part of the family, participating in activities and outings together. He's adaptable and easy to please, making him the perfect addition to a loving home. Tobias is very dignified and polite. He's also up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. This charming prince is just waiting for the right person to come rescue him, so if you're searching for a loyal and affectionate companion to brighten your days and join you on all of life's adventures, go and meet this handsome mister at the New Orleans Campus (1700 Mardi Gras Blvd).

Story
Meet Buster, a beautiful fawn-colored pitbull mix with bunny ears. He is about 2 years old and a perfect size, and will be a wonderful companion dog for the right adopter.Buster loves people so much he learned to give gentle hugs to humans. He really likes attention and is treat motivated, so he has learned several commands very quickly. Ask Buster to "sit," "shake," "go potty," or "lay down," and Buster will hop to it. He's happy to learn more commands and tricks if it will make you happy!Buster has a silly side - he'll help you with gardening by drinking from the water hose, running outside, and being a little rowdy when he plays. He's a goofy and loving boy. He has fur like velvet that sometimes needs a sensitive skin shampoo if he gets too dirty playing outside (relatable).Buster is housetrained and crate trained, so he's ready to move in to his new home. He walks great on a leash and will be your buddy inside and outside the home! He enjoys a car ride and behaves well on them. Buster is good with humans of all ages and sizes, other dogs, and even cats. Buster is just fantastic.Buster is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and ready for adoption TODAY. Email foster@laspca.org to meet him!
