Story
Hi there, I'm Blaze!I found myself at KVHS through no fault of my own and after receiving some needed TLC am ready to find my forever home. Some things to know about me;1. I am a sucker for being outside and rough housing, what can I say I'm in my teenage years in my eyes! 2. I LOVE to learn, I know all my basic commands and am a master at the sit/stay. Of course if food is involved I'm happy to learn more, heck I may even be a good candidate for advanced obedience.3. I am willing to meet any potential dog siblings but am very dominant. Unfortunately due to my dominance I haven't made any friends here. My play style, like most bully's, is rough/tumble.4. I would prefer everyone in my home to be 16+, I'm very head shy and can be nervous around new people, I also do NOT like hugs and am not a big snuggler I'd rather just play and run. Plus I like my food and toys a lot!5. The final thing, Kitties are not my favorite critters. I have a decent prey drive and may enjoy chasing them a bit too much so a home without felines would be best. Interested in meeting me? Stop by KVHS with all household members, and bring lots of cookies so I can show you all my tricks/commands.

Story
Sweet, Sweet Eugene is ready to meet his forever family Eugene is about 8 years old, and is a man of few words, he lets you know how much he adores you with his actions. Eugene is adventurous, reserved but also insanely smart. He's also very food motivated and very eager to please. Being a man of mostly action, this guy loves to go on walks and sniff-aris and is looking for a home to treat him like the king he deserves to be.Eugene came into as a stray when he was found running around he was caught red-handed chasing after a spikey friend in the wild, where he unfortunately learned that was a battle they quickly lost. Getting the know Eugene has been really fun, he's a tall, lengthy, derpy guy who ADORES his people, we believe Eugene would be best in a home where the spotlight can be on him, meaning no other pets in home. Eugene looks like he's really seen some things in life, and is ready to put all that behind him and learn how to be a dog, like all dogs deserve. Treats, snuggles, games of fetch - you name it.We believe kiddos 6+ would be best for this guy and would like Eugene to meet the whole family prior to going home. If you're looking for a mature pal, one to take on all of your impossible projects, he'd be more than happy to tag along for them - then this is your guy!!

Story
I'm Randall! When I came to the shelter I was in bad shape, I was bald and skinny but the girls took great care of me and now I'm healthy as can be! I am a bit afraid of new situations and need some encouragement but in my past when I went to new places people weren't very nice and shoed me away, so I'm trying to learn not everyone is going to do that. I am great with other dogs and cats because after all in my experience they were never mean to me! The girls here at the shelter are doing a great job at showing me I can trust people and I am learning everyday!

Story
This boy is a lover! Meet Bruno! He adores his humans and has never met a stranger. Bruno is exuberant and excited about life. At 65lbs, he's not really a lap dog but he would be if he could fit! Bruno gets along with other dogs, and loves to play with other dogs who are willing to play with him. Bruno has one of the most irresistible faces with is big smile and one ear that mostly stands straight up while the other ear flops. Bruno loves treats and toys. He loves staying cool in the South Carolina heat with frozen treats. Bruno loves to run after a thrown object, but hasn't quite grasped the concept of "fetching" just yet. Bruno walks fairly well on a leash and is currently practicing not pulling. More practice will be needed, as Bruno mostly potties and plays in the fenced yard in his foster home with little opportunity to practice walking on the leash. Bruno is already house trained and crate trained. Generally, his foster family has been able to leave Bruno loose in the house without him getting into any trouble. Due to Bruno's exuberant nature and lack of insight regarding his size, we do recommend children 10 years and older. Bruno's favorite place to hang out is the couch. He sprawls across his foster's sectional, but no worries, he happily makes space for his people! Bruno shows his love for his people with lots of sweet kisses and cuddles. Bruno is so excited to meet his future family! Is that you? Send in your adoption application today at www.underhoundrailroad.org. Bruno is currently being fostered in South Carolina and may transport along the East Coast as far North as Maine to his adoptive home. Story
Ready to be your sidekick and your furever friend, meet Tinkerbell! Before coming to Underhound Railroad Tinkerbell was roaming as stray and was uncatchable for 8 months until giving birth to 10 puppies under a shed in a rural area. At this time, she finally trusted humans enough to let herself be rescued. Once in a safe home, Tinkerbell immediately showed how friendly and loving her personality is. She instantly allowed love and pets even with her puppies the very first night. Now that her puppies have found their furever home, it is Tinkerbell's turn! Tink is playful and of course loving! She thinks she is a lapdog, and adores cuddling on the couch and giving her full attention to her humans. Tink would do best in a home with only one other dog, or wouldn't mind being your one and only. She gets along with most mild-mannered dogs of most sizes, who are not dominant and who respect her cues to give her space instead of reacting. Tink's current playmates include an overly rambunctious 5 month old female puppy, and a ragtag crew of male and female formerly-feral-but-still-shy dogs. Tink adores people and she even loves visiting the vet as t hey give yummy treats and attention. She also loves visitors coming to meet other fosters in the home . Surely they're really here for her, right? Tinkbell is crate trained, and somewhat leash trained though could use some work on manners and pulling. Tinkerbell has also undergone a professional dog training program, so this girl is on the top of her game. Tink would do best in a family who has plenty of love and attention to give, although she does not mind being home alone and hanging out in her crate. Tinkerbell was named because she is petite and feisty, like Tinkerbell! However, she is not attached to this name emotionally and would gladly accept a new name from her new family. Who ever adopts this girl will have a loyal and best friend for life! Send in your adoption application today at www.underhoundrailroad.org. Tinkerbell is currently being fostered in South Carolina. She may transport along the East Coast as far North as Maine to her furever home.November 22, 2023, 4:34 pm

King Breed: Staffordshire. Hound / Lab Mix Age: 11 Month Old (dob. 03.19.22) Weight: 52 lbs Medical: Up-To-Date on Vaccinations, worming, fecals, micro-chipped and neutered Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Ages 10+ House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Location: New York King is the smallest of a litter that contained six other males. He might have been small, but he was always the mightiest! He always got his brothers and sisters to play with him. Around other animals he can be shy and timid to start – BUT – he will warm up! When by himself this smarty loves training and learns very quickly. At his young age he already knows sit and has begun leash training. He is a very playful, full of energy puppy who loves hair! He does well with cats and also likes to play with them even though the cats don’t really want to play with him. He does enjoy a nice session of fetch. He loves walking on the leash and he loves to run. He likes all his toys to chew but needs the heavy duty toys. He is crate trained and does well with pottying outside. He is a handful at times and likes to pull things off the counter and chew them.. like dish towels or wash clothes. These things need to be put up out of his reach. King loves the broom and the mop and it can make cleaning a little difficult. King also has an obsession with toilet paper. He loves to chew and eat rolls of it. King has never been the only animal in a household and would benefit from having a playmate. If you are interested in adopting King click at the link below. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. King’s adoption donation is $450 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
