Story
Meet Barry, ***Foster-to-adopt eligible***Do you enjoy your dogs to be safely described as `meatheads?` Do you appreciate a dog that knows his own mind? Barry sniffs and walks where he wants to walk. While helping him to learn leash manners, you may feel as though your leash is attached to a brick wall. You will just have to be the brick wall right back! It will be very empowering. Cats? Not allowed in Barry`s house! Other dogs eating? Definitely not allowed in the same room as Barry. Children under 12 will turn into pancakes with his heft; therefore we ask that Barry goes home with older children; Barry knows the feats of strength he has to offer. Strangers or visitors coming into the home will be exposed to a strict vetting process that will definitely be paired with barking until you have convinced him that these are new people to show off his toys to. Barry insists his joints be treated with love and respect through a continued weight loss regimen and the medication Carprofen for life. If you are interested in making Barry a permanent member of your family, please stop by with all human and canine family members.

Story
Meet Umba! This sapphire is extremely loving, playful, and will make sure to make you laugh with all her weird noises! Why are her noises so weird, you ask? Umba is deaf! That doesn`t stop her from enjoying the finer things in life. Tennis balls are one of her favorite toys, along with throwing her whole body against your legs and making sure you wear her fur coat! Butt scratches are the holy grail to her (Other than tennis balls, of course!) Umba would love to have a home that can continue to help her learn basic commands through sign language, play endless ball, and have a comfy couch to sleep on! One last request would be a home with older children who understand dog boundaries! Umba loves attention so much and is also willing to meet new dog friends but she can be very selective of her dog friends so all will have to come and meet her.If you would like to meet Umba, or you have any questions about her, please reach out to KVHS or come in during available adoption hours!

Story
Meet Rex, ***Foster-to-adopt eligible***Rex is looking for a home where someone can challenge him in a good game of tug of war ( We wish you good luck, because you`re going to need it!) He`s always up for a good game of fetch, walks around the neighborhood or flopping on the couch for a good nap. We think he`ll be quite the snuggle-bun! Rex can be a tiny bit shy/ nervous meeting new people at first, but with treats this boy will soon be trying to lick your face and demanding butt scratches. He is also looking for a home where he can be the full center of attention, meaning Rex will do best with no other animals. No kids under the age of 18 years for this rough and tumble boy. If you are interested in meeting Rex please come to KVHS during open hours with all family members.

Story
Meet Mojo, ***Foster-to-adopt eligible*** This boy is very people-oriented--loves to play tag, get butt scratches, and generally being the object of your attention! If you are in the market for a guard dog, Mojo is not it! He will be best friends with anyone trying to break into your home. Mojo is working on his leash manners while he is with us and hopes to continue that work in his new home. He is both strong on the leash and can have a lot to say if he sees other animals, especially dogs. This gorgeous gentleman is looking for a cat-free home. Mojo has never lived with dogs before and we don`t know how he would do with them in the home. Encountering dogs at shelter continues to be stressful for him, so we are recommending no other animals for Mojo. As for children, Mojo is looking for a home with adults who are 18 years of age and older. If you are looking to add this bundle of affection to your home, please stop by with all human family members.

Story
Introducing Lulu;A big girl with an even bigger personality. She loves new people but does have a tendency to bark! She`s looking for a home to continue working on a few things with her! One of them is her leash manners, she likes to pull and throw her weight around. Another thing she does? She likes to bark when she sees other dogs, but she hasn`t had an official introduction to other dogs yet. While we do have her `Willing to meet` Dogs here, we are unsure if she`d do well. As for kitties and children? No cats for this girl, but rough and tumble kids are ok!Interested in meeting Lulu? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Story
Meet Teddy, ***Foster-to-adopt eligible***Have you ever met a dog that likes to make snow angels? We haven`t either, but Teddy sure does love kicking his legs up in the white stuff! Teddy is a huggable lug who enjoys some good neck scratchies; just get under that collar please! Teddy is looking for a strong handler because he is a freight train--perhaps not in speed, but in strength. He is deeply affectionate towards anyone living in the home, but he can be a bit of a curmudgeon, being suspicious of those who set foot on his lawn. His ideal home will be free of cats, and children under the age of 12. If it contains other dogs, these dogs must be fed separately from Teddy. If you are interested in meeting Teddy, please stop by with all human and canine family members.
