Story
Meet Tank! Tank is a very sweet, goofy, playful and energetic lovebug! He does not have the best manners and would benefit from a home where he is able to work on them as he can be a bit mouth and jumpy at times. As for cats he has lived with them and would do well in a home with them. He has a lot of love to give but is not always aware of his size so no kids under 8 please. Is willing to meet female dogs siblings. Interested in meeting Tank come down to KVHS with the whole family to meet him!

Promise loves to stay active and would thrive in a home that can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and adventures. She currently shares a kennel with other puppies, and they get along wonderfully. She is expected to grow into a medium to large-sized dog and will benefit from continued training and socialization as she grows. Story
Meet Chief — your new best friend and walking buddy!  Chief is a 6 year old boxer/pittie mix with a striking white coat and adorable brown spots, a squishy bully face, and a loving personality that makes him impossible not to adore. ✨ What makes Chief special? He has a strong leash training foundation and is a genuinely enjoyable walking companion. He doesn’t drag you down the street. Walks with Chief are steady and something to look forward to. If you want a dog you can actually enjoy walking, Chief delivers. Chief is the perfect mix of chill and engaged. He’s not high-energy, but he lives for his daily walks, neighborhood outings, and tagging along with his person. He currently goes to work with his foster mom, enjoys morning coffee runs (puppuccino included!), and settles in easily wherever he goes. Car rides? Loves them - he hops right in and lounges like a king. At home? Crate trained, potty trained, and sleeps soundly through the night. Training? Knows commands like “sit,” “crate,” and "let's go" and is eager to keep learning. He’s very food and praise motivated. Fun? Treat puzzles, fetch and a stuffed Kong are his absolute favorites. Chief has a solid leash foundation and truly enjoys getting out and exploring. Like many dogs, he’s still building confidence around some busier or fast moving surroundings, but he’s made great progress and continues to improve with consistency and guidance. He gets along well with calm, low - to medium energy dogs and is a respectful, easygoing housemate. He’s not much of a rough player, but he coexists nicely with other mellow pups, including smaller or senior dogs. Because of his size (around 50 lbs) and occasional goofy moments, Chief would do best in a home with adults or older kids (teens+). Why Chief? He’s one of those “hidden gem” dogs - easy to live with, devoted to his people, and happiest just being by your side. Whether you’re running errands, heading out for a walk, or relaxing at home, Chief is all in. Chief is currently being fostered in North Carolina and can be transported along the East Coast to his forever home. Story
Frannie is a 65# tan boxer pit mix and approximately 7 years old. We adopted Fannie 6 years ago from a local group in Maine. She was a stray from Puerto Rico at the time.Frannie is a people lover, and all she really wants to do is snuggle up on the couch with you while you read a book or watch a movie. She is by nature a very anxious dog and lives on high alert for most of the day in our current home. She would do best in low key home with less coming and going. Because of her energy level, she would likely do best with a larger, calm dog if placed in a multi-dog home, with slow introductions. She would benefit from a fenced in yard.We have done multiple rounds of training with her, both with Sit Means Sit in Windham and High Frequency Canine Training in West Tisbury, MA due to leash reactivity.

These pups are in Augusta, Maine too!

Story
Meet Cali,One of the happiest girls you`ve ever met; even if her greeting is a loud bark. She`s working on manners greeting new people; she`s gets so over excited! She loves to learn, and with her being a foodie, is easy to train! We`ve been working on `engage disengage` to help with her barking. She walks pretty well on leash, enjoys all the loving, and LOVES to play! She doesn`t fully understand how to bring the ball back yet, but she tries.Cali has shown un-confident behaviors with other dogs, and can be nervous with them. We think she`d do best with a submissive male- no females! As for cats, Cali needs a home free of felines. Due to her jumpiness, she`d do best with kids over the age of 10 years old.Interested in meeting Cali? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours to meet her!
