Story
My name is Walt! I’m very outgoing and love people. I need some help with my manners as I’m very bouncy but I can learn quickly! I’ve been through a lot in my life so I need the right introductions to other dogs. Also I like dogs that are more relaxed, too much energy scares me! I also snort a lot!

Story
I'm Ellie! I love car rides, snuggling, chewing bones, playing ball and walks in the woods. I am very food motivated and eager to learn new things! I'm athletic and can jump short fences so I need a tall enclosure! I love to explore, but when its cold and rainy, I prefer to be inside and cuddle on the couch. I have successfully lived with three indoor/outdoor cats. For two years I lived with another dog, but we recently had to be separated for our happiness. A family member took me in, however, their health is declining and I need a new home. I am good on a leash and as long as other dogs keep their distance, I won't have a problem. I'm training to not bark at strangers on walks and need slow introductions with new people. I'm very sweet to people, but I need a household where I can be the only dog, with no kids and an owner who will be patient with my reactivity and anxiety. I'd be the best buddy for someone who lives out in rural Maine who loves to hike and enjoys solitude!

Story
Chief is a charming and handsome 5 year old with a sweet bully face, a heart full of love, and a personality that wins everyone over, especially the ladies! This loyal guy is all about his people and thrives when included in daily life, whether you're hanging out at home, heading out for a walk, or running errands together. Chief isn’t overly active, but he lives for his daily walks. They’re his favorite part of the day! He makes the perfect walking companion and enjoys strolling around campus with his foster mom, exploring the neighborhood, and visiting local parks. He currently accompanies his foster mom to work, loves morning puppuccino runs, and looks forward to every stroll.  He’s also a great car buddy. He jumps right in with no hesitation, settles quickly in the back seat, and usually lounges out, taking up all the room like a king on his throne. Whether it’s a short trip or a longer ride, Chief’s calm and relaxed nature makes traveling with him a breeze. Chief is crate and potty trained, sleeps soundly through the night in his big dog bed, and listens like a pro when called. Chief knows basic commands like “sit” and “crate” and is actively learning more every day! He’s food and praise motivated, making training a fun bonding experience. He also enjoys enrichment activities and treat puzzles. A stuffed Kong, he considers the ultimate treat. Chief does well living with medium to low energy dogs, including small breeds and seniors. While he’s not one to roughhouse or initiate play with other pups, he’s a respectful housemate and would do well with other easy-going housemates.  Affectionate and friendly, Chief would do best in a home with adults or older kids (teens+), simply because of his size (50lbs) and goofy energy. He’s a great match for someone who wants a devoted companion by their side through thick and thin  and doesn’t mind some snuggles along the way. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality,  Chief  could be your perfect match! Chief  is currently being fostered in North Carolina and can be transported along the East Coast as far north as Maine to his adoptive home.  Ready to make  Chief  a part of your life? Story
Elle is an 8 year old mix breed with boba eyes and a heart full of syrupy sweet love! Like your favorite cup of bubble tea, she’s comforting, a little squishy, and full of joy in every snuggle. Her big, round eyes? Think soft tapioca pearls—soulful, sweet, and totally irresistible. This gentle girl lives for life’s simple pleasures: sunny naps, slow strolls, and quality time with her people. She’s calm, easygoing, and full of quiet affection. Elle is currently being fostered in North Carolina, but she can be transported straight into your arms and heart!  Elle is great with other dogs but would also thrive as your one and only cuddle buddy. She absolutely lives for attention: pets, gentle hugs, kisses—you name it. And she’ll return all that love with loyal companionship and sweet, loving gazes that melt your heart.  Elle’s got the sweetness, the squish, and the sparkle, you just bring the home. Story
Calling all big dog lovers; Meet Capone!Although his size might be intimidating (He`s roughly 65lbs), he`s a big baby who loves throwing himself against your legs for butt scratches and is happy to meet new people! He loves treats and food- the soft type is some of his favorite. He makes an amazing copilot in the car and will gladly sprawl out in the back seat with the window cracked! He`s used to traveling and has behaved well in different settings. He knows sit, down, and has been working on wait. Although he could use a brush up on his leash manners, we`ve been working on loose leash walking! He loves to go, go, go.Capone would thrive as the only animal in the home; he much prefers having attention solely on himself. As for children, due to his size/ strength (He forgets how big he is) he`s looking for a home with teenagers (15yrs+)!Interested in meeting the handsomest guy around? Swing on down to KVHS with the whole family to meet him!

Story
Meet Draco! 🐾 Draco is an almost 4-year-old Pittie mix weighing about 60 pounds, and he is truly the total package. This handsome boy is full of love and has a wonderful, gentle personality that makes him a joy to be around. Draco does amazing with kids, cats, and other dogs, making him a great fit for many different types of families. He was surrendered through no fault of his own after his family fell on hard times and could no longer keep him, and now he’s just waiting for the loving home he deserves. He’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly—happy to run around and have fun, but just as happy to curl up with his people for snuggles. Draco is also housebroken and crate trained, which makes the transition into his new home even easier. Draco is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready to go—all he needs now is his forever family.
