Story
🐾 Meet Presley! 🐾 Hi, my name is Presley, and I’m looking for my forever family! I was surrendered through no fault of my own, but I’m making the best of it and settling beautifully into foster care. I’m a 5-year-old Boxer/Husky mix with the perfect balance of adventure buddy and couch potato. I absolutely love going for walks, exploring the outdoors, and tagging along on new adventures. When it’s time to relax, you’ll find me stretched out on the couch enjoying a good nap. My foster family says I’m doing amazing! I’m house-trained, settle into the home easily, and have great manners. When my foster parents are away at work, I don’t destroy a thing and patiently wait for them to come home. I’m great with kids and get along well with other dogs. Cats are currently unknown. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys both outdoor adventures and cozy nights at home, I might just be your perfect match. I can’t wait to find the family I’ve been dreaming of! ❤️ Presley

Story
My name is Walt! I’m very outgoing and love people. I need some help with my manners as I’m very bouncy but I can learn quickly! I’ve been through a lot in my life so I need the right introductions to other dogs. Also I like dogs that are more relaxed, too much energy scares me! I also snort a lot!

Story
Riddle is an energetic girl who is highly affectionate and needs a steady routine. She is almost four years old and loves snuggling. My husband and I bought her, as a puppy, from close friends that breed boxers. She has been living harmoniously with another dog and two cats until recently. She has been displaying aggression with the other dog in the house when food or treats are around. She is very loving, goofy, and sweet otherwise. We would love to find her a forever home with a family that is patient, active, and attentive to her needs.

Story
Meet Chief — your new best friend and walking buddy!  Chief is a 6 year old boxer/pittie mix with a striking white coat and adorable brown spots, a squishy bully face, and a loving personality that makes him impossible not to adore. ✨ What makes Chief special? He has a strong leash training foundation and is a genuinely enjoyable walking companion. He doesn’t drag you down the street. Walks with Chief are steady and something to look forward to. If you want a dog you can actually enjoy walking, Chief delivers. Chief is the perfect mix of chill and engaged. He’s not high-energy, but he lives for his daily walks, neighborhood outings, and tagging along with his person. He currently goes to work with his foster mom, enjoys morning coffee runs (puppuccino included!), and settles in easily wherever he goes. Car rides? Loves them - he hops right in and lounges like a king. At home? Crate trained, potty trained, and sleeps soundly through the night. Training? Knows commands like “sit,” “crate,” and "let's go" and is eager to keep learning. He’s very food and praise motivated. Fun? Treat puzzles, fetch and a stuffed Kong are his absolute favorites. Chief has a solid leash foundation and truly enjoys getting out and exploring. Like many dogs, he’s still building confidence around some busier or fast moving surroundings, but he’s made great progress and continues to improve with consistency and guidance. He gets along well with calm, low - to medium energy dogs and is a respectful, easygoing housemate. He’s not much of a rough player, but he coexists nicely with other mellow pups, including smaller or senior dogs. Because of his size (around 50 lbs) and occasional goofy moments, Chief would do best in a home with adults or older kids (teens+). Why Chief? He’s one of those “hidden gem” dogs - easy to live with, devoted to his people, and happiest just being by your side. Whether you’re running errands, heading out for a walk, or relaxing at home, Chief is all in. Chief is currently being fostered in North Carolina and can be transported along the East Coast to his forever home. Story
Frannie is a 65# tan pit mix and approximately 7 years old. We adopted Fannie 6 years ago from a local group in Maine. She was a stray from Puerto Rico at the time.Frannie is a people lover, and all she really wants to do is snuggle up on the couch with you while you read a book or watch a movie. She is by nature a very anxious dog and lives on high alert for most of the day in our current home. She would do best in low key home with less coming and going. Because of her energy level, she would likely do best with a larger, calm dog if placed in a multi-dog home, with slow introductions. She would benefit from a fenced in yard. We have done multiple rounds of training with her, both with Sit Means Sit in Windham and High Frequency Canine Training in West Tisbury, MA due to leash reactivity.

These pups are in Augusta, Maine too!

Story
Introducing Diablo,A little (At around 48lbs) ball of energy and love. Some of his favorite things include running after a tennis ball and throwing his backend against your legs for butt scratches! He enjoys being active and going for walks/ runs, and sometimes he can pull. He knows sit and is very polite when it comes to getting his leash on! He hasn`t been picky with treats, he likes every type we offer!Although Diablo is looking for a home without cats (He has a very high prey drive) he`s looking for a home with rough/ tumble kids who are used to active dogs! He`s overall a polite guy, and doesn`t seem to be too big of a jumper! It`s unknown how Diablo does with other canines, but he seems to not like them from a distance. KVHS has not done an official introduction with him and another dog.Interested in Diablo? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours to ask to meet him!

Story
**Foster-to-adopt eligible**Calling all big dog lovers; Meet Capone!Although his size might be intimidating (He`s roughly 65lbs), he`s a big baby who loves throwing himself against your legs for butt scratches and is happy to meet new people! He loves treats and food- the soft type is some of his favorite. He makes an amazing copilot in the car and will gladly sprawl out in the back seat with the window cracked! He`s used to traveling and has behaved well in different settings. He knows sit, down, and has been working on wait. Although he could use a brush up on his leash manners, we`ve been working on loose leash walking! He loves to go, go, go.Capone would thrive as the only animal in the home; he much prefers having attention solely on himself. As for children, due to his size/ strength (He forgets how big he is) he`s looking for a home with teenagers (15yrs+)!Interested in meeting the handsomest guy around? Swing on down to KVHS with the whole family to meet him!
