Story
** Foster-to-adopt eligible**Meet Maggie May, Maggie May is an energetic and affectionate girl who asks to be the only four legged animal for her people to fawn over. She loves the car, going for walks and meeting new friends. She is looking for a home with people 15 and up because she can show her excitement with her mouth at times and this girl has a passion for life. In her previous home, she had an accident that has left her with some mobility issues. When we say issues, we don`t mean that she can`t move; she is just as busy as when she was a young dog, but the way she moves just looks different now. We are treating her for discomfort surrounding her previous injury with joint supplements and a medication called carprofen which our vet recommends that she continue after adoption. If you are interested in meeting Maggie May, please stop by for some snuggles and butt wiggles.

My name is Walt! I’m very outgoing and love people. I need some help with my manners as I’m very bouncy but I can learn quickly! I’ve been through a lot in my life so I need the right introductions to other dogs. Also I like dogs that are more relaxed, too much energy scares me! I also snort a lot!

Story
I'm Ellie! I love car rides, cuddles on the couch, chewing toys, playing ball and quiet walks in the woods. I am very food motivated which is great for teaching me new things! I'm very athletic and can jump fences under 5 feet. I need regular walks, puzzle toys and to play fetch to live my best life! I am a well behaved, reserved dog at home, but I have never wanted to socialize with other dogs since I was a pup. For two years I loved my older sister Charlie, but now we stress each other out and have to be separated. I am training to not bark at strangers or other dogs on walks. I am good on a leash and as long as dogs can't interact with me, I am happy! For now I live with my owner's dad in a rural area, but it's not ideal for me in the long run. I'm very sweet to people, but I need an owner who will keep me as the only pet, avoid dogs and has experience with reactivity. I need to live in a quiet place to avoid seeing too many people or dogs which makes me anxious.

Story
Meet Gisselle! Gisselle is a very happy, wiggly girl who truly embodies the joyful spirit of her Boxer breed. She’s incredibly social and greets the world with enthusiasm, tail wags, and a big smile. Gisselle is easy to leash and a breeze to take out, making outings with her fun and stress-free.She has lived with other dogs and has shown lovely canine social skills. When introduced to a shy female dog, Gisselle offered polite appeasement licks, showing that her friendliness is paired with good manners and awareness of other dogs’ comfort levels. From what we know, Gisselle has not lived with children or cats, so any introductions would need to be thoughtful and managed. If you’re looking for a cheerful, outgoing companion who will bring classic Boxer joy, affection, and plenty of wiggles into your life, Gisselle could be the perfect fit!

Story
Elle is an 8 year old mix breed with boba eyes and a heart full of syrupy sweet love! Like your favorite cup of bubble tea, she’s comforting, a little squishy, and full of joy in every snuggle. Her big, round eyes? Think soft tapioca pearls—soulful, sweet, and totally irresistible. This gentle girl lives for life’s simple pleasures: sunny naps, slow strolls, and quality time with her people. She’s calm, easygoing, and full of quiet affection. Elle is currently being fostered in North Carolina, but she can be transported straight into your arms and heart!  Elle is great with other dogs but would also thrive as your one and only cuddle buddy. She absolutely lives for attention: pets, gentle hugs, kisses—you name it. And she’ll return all that love with loyal companionship and sweet, loving gazes that melt your heart.  Elle’s got the sweetness, the squish, and the sparkle, you just bring the home. Story
At just 2 years old, Crumble is the perfect mix of loyal affection and playful energy. This gentle sweetheart has a heart as big as his smile and he is ready to share it with anyone willing to rub his belly. Whether it’s curling up for snuggles on the couch or trotting happily beside you on a walk Crumble is wanting to please. He does well on the leash but is still learning not too pull to much. He loves being outside just sniffing and taking it all in. He is still learning how to play with toys. He’s a quick learner, eager to please, and has already mastered the basics, sit, stay and fully potty trained. He loves attention from his person and would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family’s daily adventures—whether that’s a walk or cozy movie nights. If you’re looking for a faithful companion who will love you unconditionally and remind you every day how special you are, Crumble is your guy. If you’re interested in meeting Crumble, please complete an adoption application. Approved applicants can contact our Adoption Coordinator, Emily, at emily@mainedogrescue.org

Story
Meet Bruno AlexanderBruno is sweet, food-motivated boy looking for an adult-only home without much going on. Bruno has had a lot of training through Maximillion Dog Training and is able walk nicely on leash. Regular training will help build and maintain his confidence, even if just for a few minutes a day. Bruno has lived with dogs and cats in the past, however we feel he will be happiest in a home with fewer animals or very calm and mellow animals. If you are interested in this handsome man, please bring any canine and human members of your household to meet him!
