Story
Brutus is a stunning boy with lots of strength. He's playful, goofy, and a big sweetie! He is unfortunately living his life confined to a bedroom, hoping someone can give him another chance at life. This sweet boy was surrendered 2 years ago because his owners decided to move without him. He was luckily adopted and has been very loved since then, but now he has run into another situation through no fault of his own. Brutus had a child with special needs move into his house. Although he's shown no aggression and has not had any issues with the child, his owner is concerned about the child not understanding how to interact with Brutus and therefore has to keep him separated. Instead of Brutus coming back to the shelter again to live in a kennel, his owner is keeping him until he can find a new home. It's not his owners fault and he is trying to do what's best for everyone, but unfortunately Brutus is suffering because of it. He isn't getting the exercise or attention he needs living his life in one bedroom, and he desperately deserves another chance at a family. He is a big boy with an even bigger heart, sweet as can be, and dog friendly. He has gained 15 lbs just since the recent change in his lifestyle, weighing almost 100 lbs now. He needs a family committed to helping him lose weight, and providing both the mental stimulation and physical exercise that he needs. He would benefit from some training to help him work on his leash manners as he was in a home that used an invisible fence, so he wasn't leash trained. A dog-savvy owner would be best for Brutus, as well. Please consider coming to Brutus's rescue and showing him what forever really means. He's ready for someone to give him the permanent home he deserves 🤎 Primary Color: Blue Brindle Weight: 93 Age: 3yrs 8mths 3wks

Brock is just a giant puppy, full of love, energy, and dreams of a forever home. He says he really only wants 2 things in life - humans to love him and other dogs to play with! Oh yeah, and definitely some grass for this adorable little grass goblin. His favorite way to relax is to frolick in some fields and then army crawl his way to the perfect spot to lounge and people watch. If you're looking for a buddy for your pup, then Brock is your guy. He has tons of playful energy and can't wait to go on adventures, romp around with some other dogs, and then get all the love and cuddles. This sweet boy is looking for someone who will take time to train and nurture his enthusiasm for life. He's so treat motivated and aims to please, so with a dog savvy owner and some consistency and routines - he says he'll have the best manners in no time.So to recap - do you have access to some fields? A special hook up with the best grass spots? Do you have some other pups Brock can play poker with or learn a synchronized swimming routine with? Maybe some puzzles and enrichment activities to stimulate this smart boy's mind? Then you'd be perfect for him! Please consider giving Brock the forever home he dreams of every night. Story
Burton is a puppies-puppy. Although he is aged at around 2 years old, he seems to be a late bloomer. He is fun loving, care free and loving of all creatures. He is excited by life and every moment is an adventure. His enthusiasm is contagious. He came in at only 48 lbs, and after enjoying his stay with the lovely staff and volunteers, he's up to a perfect 62 lbs.He walks up the kennel row stopping at every kennel to say hello in the most polite way: 🐾🐾🐾🐾 "Hello, they call me Burrrrrton. They say I'm a member of the Skellington club. Watz ur call sign?"Mr Burton is house trained and gets anxious to get outside to potty. He knows "sit". And is very engaging on the walks with his hooman friends. He is neat in his kennel and enjoys his accommodations. He seems to want to be around people and dogs all the time. He might be a good candidate to be your dog's bff sibling. A meet and greet would be necessary to determine if his energy would be compatible with your dog. Because he is still in puppy mode, he will need training to channel his excitement. He wants to please his hooman, so training with treats should be a breeze. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Walks well with volunteers⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Sweet bubbly personality⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Housetrained⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Compatible with other animals⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Trainable Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 66 Age: 2yrs 7mths 2wks

If ever there was a pumpkin spice girl ... here she is on A row... meet our Pumpkin ! She is a beautiful girl and is very friendly. She loves to go for walks with her stuffy. You can't help but smile. She draws a lot of attention with her adorable strut, proudly showing off her favorite stuffed animal of the day. She looks adorable wearing bows and is super excited to pick out her Halloween costume. Here are some comments from her fans:"Pumpkin was my favorite walk of the day. She's fun and happy and loves people." "Pumpkin is such a wild child when she first gets out of her kennel but it's pure excitement. She calms down quickly and is very well behaved on car rides. She will gently take a chicken nugget from your hand and will constantly reach over to give slobbery kisses. This girl is such a sweetheart. I'm guessing the reason she is still here is because of the first impression she may give but if you're interested in getting to know Pumpkin please walk her for about 10 min first and then take her for a car ride. Get her away from the shelter and you'll see a whole different side of her...the calm, sweet, and loving Pumpkin that I see every time I'm with her. She loves people."Pumpkin has a medium high excitable energy and is a lot of fun. She is the life of the party. She will need her new family to help her channel her excitement and be her best self. Her energy might be a lot for other animals to handle, so meet and greets would be necessary to determine if she can do well with siblings. The kennel life is a challenge for dogs and we fully expect Pumpkin to be much more calm in a home setting once she gets into a routine and has structure and boundaries in place for her.She is an active, joyful, and playful girl looking for her new family that will love her forever. She has a beautiful coat color and her stubby little tail adds to her charm. She was overweight when she came in and has been working hard to get back in shape. We want to keep her healthy and give her the best life possible. Please come check her out. She will surely sweeten your day and we know you will fall in love with her spunky spirit. 🎵Well, I was raised up beneath the shade of a Maryland pine, and that's home, you knowSweet kibble, punkin pie, and homemade snacks, where the milk bones grow....🎵And my house, wasn't much to talk aboutBut it's gone now.And a little bit of chicken friedPup cups on a Friday nightA harness lead that fits just rightAnd the radio upI like to see the sunrise...🎵See the love in my volunteer's eyesFeel the crunch of a good chew bone And know a good friend's love🎵Hey there! They call me Big Mike. Some folks know me as Shooter. That's what I am-a straight shooter. No fuss no muss. What you see is what you get. I thought I'd start you out with a song to get you singing. My tale is a sad one but I'm not singing a sad song. This here is the life I want. You and me and some good snacks. I'm not singing about being left here twice. They said stay. And I did. And I waited. But that's in the past. That's not me anymore. I'm Looking for a new home. TLC.Talks, love and coffee. Wait they said don't give me coffee bad idea. Training, Love and Commitment that's my song. Can you dig it? Come sing with me! 🎤I'll do the drums.🥁I'm an amazing low key dog. Once I get past those yappers. Don't give up on me, we can do great things together. This isn't my first rodeo. I've been here before. Nice folks. Good eats. Nice yard and pools. A real fancy B&B. I'm back because the other cowboy at my ranch wanted to start stuff and I'm not going to put up with that mess. We parted ways. It hurt my heart my people didn't pick me. I'm not one to dwell on the past. Onward and upward I always say. I'm a nice guy. I walk by all the yappers on my row ok. I'm neat and do not mess in my bunk. I'd like to find some new folks to mosey down the trail with. I'm pretty easy. I could use a little exercise I guess. I've let myself go a little. (84 pounds oh boy... a few too many burgers!) Time to tone things up if I'm going to get me a new family. Maybe you could come and check me out? We could exercise together and get to know each other. Maybe I can be your one and only. Those other critters stress me out. I sure would like to be someone's #1. I won't let you down. I'm a stand up guy. Ask for Big Mike or Shooter. 🤠 Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: White Weight: 84 Age: 4yrs 9mths 0wks

Who doesn't just love a good Reese's cup? Well, HSWC has their very own sweet treat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Sweet and petite⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Easy walker⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Calm personality.👍😻Reese is timid and unsure of what cats are. She will need her leader to introduce new animals slowly so that she has positive encouragement when meeting new friends. Sitting politely when near new friends deserves a sweet treat. (sadly, Reese can't have the chocolate but yummy chicken should offer a nice reward for meeting new friends)🐾🐾🐾🐾Sharing a few of her own thoughts:"They call me Reese, sweetie pie and honey here. Everyone is very nice. I have had a stressful life so far. I'm not very happy in my kennel here. I like to be somewhere quiet with a people or two. I don't ask much. I'd like some more food. And those nice blankets are great. I let the people here cut my nails with no drama. They said they were long. I can't remember if they were ever cut before. I can't say that has been my favorite part so far. I like all the attention and treats I get much better. I am not a huge fan of other dogs. I can put up with them near me, but for my next gig I think I would rather have only my people around me. And maybe those fuzzy cats. I don't really care about them. I have not opened up yet. I'm still a bit nervous here. I like going for easy walks. I like ear scratches and when they talk nice to me. If you come and visit me we can go slow to meet each other. I don't think I've been around this many people or animals before. It's alot of new stuff for me to handle. I am content to do what you do. I'm not high energy. A walk is just fine, then some nice sofa time and we will be best friends! Come and get me outta here so we can keep each other coming and have sweet treats ...like me!"
