Story
Hey there, I’m Zero! My foster family gave me that name because they say I remind them of the dog from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was found wandering the streets of Louisiana and found myself scared and alone at a high-kill shelter. Luckily, Project Hope rescued me. I’ve made my way north and now I’m ready to find my forever family!I’m about 2 years old, weigh 45 pounds, and have short, fluffy black fur with some bronze mixed in. People say my deep brown eyes are pretty hard to resist. I’m probably a mix of a bully breed, Shar-Pei and Lab, but all I know is I’m 100% lovable and loyal. I live with my foster family in Saginaw, Michigan, and boy, is it a full house! There’s my foster mom, five human kids, two dog siblings (one’s a Great Dane, so she’s huge!), a cat and even a rabbit. I get along great with the other dogs, and I’m trying really hard to get used to the cat and the rabbit too. I also love every human I meet—big, small, young, old—I’m friends with everyone! When I’m not running zoomies in the backyard with the other dogs, I’m working on my training. I’ve already mastered “sit,” “here,” and “down,” and I’m learning more commands like “leave it” and “off.” My foster mom says I’m a quick learner, and with a little time and patience, I can do just about anything. Also, I’ll need a fully FENCED-IN YARD so I can run and play until my heart’s content! I love chewing on toys, especially horns, antlers, and stuffies, and I take treats gently. I sleep all night in my bed in my foster mom’s room without any accidents. I’m not a fan of getting on the furniture—no couches or human beds for me, thanks! I just like to be near you, whether it’s at your feet or next to your chair. I’m working on crate training, too. It’s not my favorite, but I’m getting better since I know my foster mom always comes back for me. Car rides make me a little nervous, but I’m improving there as well—I prefer hanging out in the back seat.   I’m a sweet, goofy and devoted pup who just wants to follow my people from room to room and be with them always. Could you be the one I’ve been waiting for? My adoption fee is $300, and I’m fully-vetted and microchipped. Questions about me? Email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. If you think we're a perfect match, fill out an adoption application at www.projecthoperescue.org.  I can’t wait to meet you!December 14, 2024, 9:09 pm

Story
This is my boy blue. He originally was rescued by me a little over 5 years ago when his previous owner lost her home to unfortunate circumstances. Blue came from a household full of kids and other animals. I learned alot while fostering him, and while he may be okay with other dogs/cats, he has a very playful side to him that some animals might not like so much (including cats), so preferably he is probably best to be placed in a home where he is the center of all the attention. He is a very thick dog, very powerful, but will also give you all the lovings and attention you could ever ask for. He is fixed, and roughly around 7 years old. He loves a good snowball fight, or even a summer time swim or playing in the sprinkler. (it's honestly so cute). He has always been a good boy and he is very protective of his family, but likes to show you how big of a bark he has when other animals or people pass by. Blue has been looking for a forever home and we're hoping to find the perfect fit!

Name: Desoto Breed Guess: Pit/Lab Mix Age: 3 months old on 1/26/25 Gender: Female Weight: 50-70 pounds as adults Children: Puppy - will need proper socialization Cats: Puppy - will need proper socialization Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $350 Hi! We came all the way from Mississippi to find our forever homes! We love lots of snuggles and toys. We cannot get enough of toys, they are so amazing! When we're tired we collapse into a big puppy pile, now cute! We've been at the ARP since 1/19/25 and are currently located at the shelter The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Playful, Energetic, Curious yet cautious. Slightly stubborn and very smart. Gentle. Goofy. These are a few words I would use to describe Luna. Luna is a pit bull mix, we believe she’s mixed with boxer but we don’t know for sure. Her birthday is December 9, she just turned 4. We adopted her from SPCA in February 2021. We crate her when we leave the house as she seems to get a little bored or maybe anxious while we’re gone. She sleeps through the night on the couch-she has no issues being out of her crate if we’re home. Luna is very playful with friends. I think she would do best in a home with a furry buddy. Shes never met a cat face-to-face. It’s a very hard decision to rehome Luna but we just don’t have the time to commit to her needs. She is in her crate for 10 hours a day during the week and weekends we’re busy with our young kids and it’s not fair to her. She has a lot of energy and would do best with a more active family. She would play fetch for hours if you were up for it!

Story
HAULT! If you are looking for a hug-a-bull, kiss-a-bull, irrisist-a-bull, and totally adopt-a-bull guy, I am the guy for you! You might be wondering where I get a name such as Clovis (meaning renowned fighter); well when I was found I had some pretty bad injuries and was severely emaciated (for real I was basically a skeleton with skin and fur). Thank goodness MAS was able to take me in and nurse me back to health. It was pretty touch-and-go for a while, and I almost didn't make it...but with the help of MAS, we fought for my life and overcame the odds. Though I am "out of the woods" as they say, some TLC is still needed (and wanted,...I want all your cuddles!). Despite having such a traumatic past, I am such a baby dog. I LOVE people of all ages, I am such a happy boy, which just goes to show how resilient and positive I really am (except with cats...I am positive I am not a fan of those things). I have done well meeting some of the other dogs at MAS as well. I am just so ready to find a place that I am welcomed as part of a family, and feel safe that I will never have to go through anything like my past again. I have all the love in the world to give, if only I am given a chance. If you would like to give Clovis a chance, submit your adoption application to start the process! DOB: 6/13/2018 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/
