Bo was going to be put in a shelter so we decided to foster her until she finds her forever home! We already have two dogs and she gets along with them great. She has also lived with cats. She is super sweet! Scared at first but within the first couple hours she was licking our faces and wagging her tail. Very well trained. Knows a lot of cool tricks!

Story
This is Winnie, she is a 1yr old Red Nose Pitt (no papers)She would be best as the only pet in a household since she has a hard time sharing the love and wants all of her owners attention. That could also be due to the fact that I have only left her for 3 days since I've had her and she's been with me since she was 8 weeks old. She was not crate trained and has never been left alone. She is a beautiful sweetheart and I am devastated that I need to rehome her so I will be taking extra precautions to make sure she is going to a good forever home. Please private message me if you are interested, I would like to go into detail and about reason for rehoming her and what she likes and what she doesn't like ect. and to be sure you would be the right fit for her new forever home.

Story
Spider has had a rough go of it. He can't seem to find a "good" home. He's found homes but none of them have been good. Which is why he keeps ending up back here at the shelter. So here's my original post for Spider but remember his superpowers aren't what they used to be. I'd like to introduce everyone to Spiderman. He is an awesome dog with super powers. Spider can climb walls just like his namesake. I'm not kidding. It's unfortunate that when Spider was standing on top of the kennel, grinning down at everyone....no one had a camera! So Spider is looking for an adopter that has super powers too! Or at least, an adopter who is committed to keeping him safe. He may need a cable type tie-out or a 6' fence or maybe an underground fence or to be kept on a leash. At least while he gets comfortable in his new home. Spider is about 2 years old and weighs 37 lbs. He is a comical, delightful dog who is going to be someone's Best Dog Ever! The adoption fee for dogs is $90. This fee includes spay/neuter, deworming, heartworm test, rabies & DHLPP shots, flea & tick treatment and license (for Newaygo County residents). Newaygo County Animal Shelter 78 N. Webster White Cloud, MI 49349 231-689-1867 Monday - Friday 11-1 Appointments welcome and available upon request.

Story
This cutie is called Lil Girl aka Mini. She’s under 60 lbs and was very underweight when she came in. She also had a badly injured tail that we had to remove. Mini is very food motivated and will be a joy to train. This dog can climb almost any fence so she would do best with someone who can leash walk her. If you already have a dog in your home the shelter suggests that you bring him/her with you for a meet and greet. Mini takes a sec to warm up so proper introductions are a must. The staff suspect that Mini has been on her own a long time or was abused. The shelter requires that children in the home be over 12 years old. She is the biggest sweetheart but will need someone with a big heart and a lot of patience. Mini will need support and help to feel safe and confident in the world. The adoption fee for dogs is $90. This fee includes spay/neuter, deworming, heartworm test, rabies & DHLPP shots, flea & tick treatment and license (for Newaygo County residents). Newaygo County Animal Shelter 78 N. Story
Meet George Theo Lincoln (he's had many names in his lifetime-we think it makes him sound distinguished ). Sadly, George was returned to us. His family that adopted him a few years ago said that they couldn't take his destructive behavior in the home anymore. They said he struggled with separation anxiety and would be sometimes destructive to furniture in the home, but then he started angry peeing in the home. And heartbreakingly, this is the second time George was returned to us. The first time he was returned because they said he didn't like the farm animals at the first home. George is a happy boy here and loves people and to snuggle. In the past, Kenzie use to take George to her GVSU pre-vet meetings and he LOVED the car travel and visiting with all the students on campus. He ran around the room greeting everyone! His previous owners said they didn't have any issues with him with people or kids. When George was with us, he was very friendly with other dogs. But his previous family said he is not friendly with dogs anymore. We are working on this with him, but at the time, we think he would do best in a home without other pets. A little bit more about George as we know him: He is so kind and sweet, and seems to be great for everyone. We believe he is about 8.5 years old. At his vet check, he was so friendly with Dr. Andrea and was giving kisses and wanted belly rubs! We updated his overdue vaccines and drew some blood to do a senior bloodwork check, which he was a great patient for. His bloodwork was all normal! His previous owners said he has a history of seizures, but only had one in the past year and was not on any medication for seizures. For now, since his bloodwork returned normal, we are going to continue to monitor. But since we've had George, we have not seen any seizures. He does seem to have a sensitive stomach, but we have now found a food he does well on, called Wellness Complete Health Adult Whitefish and Sweet Potato dry dog food . If we find him a foster home, we will continue to provide that specific food for him. We feel for George as he is probably so confused jumping from home to home and we hope we can find him a foster home or a fur-ever home. He's been in a home for so long and would love to get back in one and out of the kennel. If you would be interested in helping George, you can find the foster form and adoption form in the links below. If you cannot help by fostering or adopting, but you still would like to help George, the link to our Chewy list is below. https://www.headinhomerescue.org/adoptionapplication.html https://www.headinhomerescue.org/fosterapplication.html https://www.chewy.com/g/headin-home-pet-rescue_b71197585 An approved adoption application is required. The $200 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; fecal testing, and heartworm and tick disease testing. Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.December 8, 2023, 12:59 pm
