Welcome to the world of Zeenie. I recently came into rescue and as with most new dogs to rescue I shut down. I didnâ€™t eat, I just laid in my bed. But I am young and adjusted quickly. In a couple of days I started playing with my foster mom's husky, a couple more days I finally decided I would eat my food, not just take a couple bites. Now that I am comfortable I play with her dogs and we run and run in our yard. My original owner let me sleep in her bed so that is where I am comfortable. My foster mom is trying to get me to sleep in a dog bed at night but I am not doing it. When she is gone I do go in a kennel and donâ€™t mind it. Oh and I learned how to use the doggy door pretty quickly. Now I run in and out like it is a revolving door! There is so much to see outside but yet I want to be in the house near my humans. I know some commands like sit and off. We are working on others. Well for only a week in rescue I feel I am doing pretty good. I sure hope to find myself my own family real soon. ***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This sweet older gentleman is Steeler. He found himself in a kill shelter with 2 other dogs that he had lived with after their owner had been incarcerated. The shelter was asking for assistance in moving dogs out and everyone had been chosen except for Steeler. Seeing this older guy in a shelter for so many months and then facing euthanasia because there's just not enough homes and too many dogs just hurt our hearts. So Steeler had the journey into our foster care and now he is hoping for the journey to end with an adoption into a home of his very own. He is a sweet gentle boy that would love to go on a walk, take a nap or watch a movie with you. He can hang out with other dogs but he's also good just chillin on his own. Steeler is a little too excited around the felines so a home with out cats is ideal. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. Meet Rusty!! This 1 year old petite pitty mix came to us when she wandered into some kind folks barn. Nobody claimed her so now she is looking for her forever home through adoption! Rusty is a high energy gal and will require an active owner that will be willing to bring her on adventures and give her an outlet to run some energy off. Rusty has been kid tested and seems to really enjoy them! She is okay with confident cats. Rusty enjoys other dogs, but tends to be a bit pushy and tries to be “in charge” so a non reactive resident dog might be a good fit for Rusty.
