She's a Pit Bull Terrier, 2. She is predominantly black, and 3. She's been bred repeated and has the tell-tale signs of overbreeding. Add in the mix that she is likely heartworm positive, and her chances of a responsible loving home are slim. But we will not give up! Perhaps YOU will be her hero and her "Happily Ever After?!We are committed to improving her health, including fast-kill heartworm treatment (if she tests positive), good nutrition, and medicated baths to soothe her dermatitis. Athena is worth the effort, and we hope that someone special will see what we see...a beautiful goddess of a dog who embodies unconditional love! You may meet "Athena the Goddess" during our visiting hours Mon, Wed-Fri 10am-3:30pm and Tues 1:30pm-3pm, or please call our front desk at 228-466-4516 to schedule an appointment. BUCK is a 2 yr. old American Bulldog mix with a super personality and great love of people, other doggies, and all things water! If a kiddie pool or the beach are not on the agenda for the day, he will gladly "take a swim" in his water bowl! Slish-splash...he also loves taking a bath! Buck would be a wonderful addition for any family or an active single person/couple who love to include their canine companion in their activities and adventures. What a cool sidekick this boy will be! He could easily join a home with another playful dog, as he loves romping-n-playing in our exercise yard with his buddies. Unfortunately, Buck is not fond of cats! He appears to be house trained as he keeps his kennel clean and potties as soon as he goes outdoors. Come meet this fun-loving fella during our visiting hours (Mon, Wed-Fri 10am-3:30pml, or you may call our front desk at 228-466-4516 to schedule an appointment. Cletus is a sweet boy that I adopted a 3 years ago from the humane society in Hattiesburg. His exact age is unknown, but he's probably around 6 years old. Cletus loves walks, is very affectionate, a great snuggler, and has a fun personality. He can be skittish around guns and loud noises, and while he gets along with smaller dots and cats, has proven to be aggressive or frightened around larger dogs, especially there is food around. Cletus has had maybe 2 accidents inside over the three years I've had him, and is well potty trained. Cletus can suffer from some separation anxiety at times, this dog loves being near people, even if just to lay on the ground near someone. I'm currently in the middle of a move, new job, and getting married, and right now it's mot feasible for me to keep cletus. He'd be a great dog for a small family or anyone looking for company.
