Story
Veggie Spring Roll is a happy and excited guy! He wants to be involved in everything you do. His favorite things are to play fetch, play fetch and then play fetch. He also likes to give slobbery kisses. He may not always recognize his own size so he may be too much for tiny humans at first. He is very excited to meet new people and thinks everyone new deserves a hug. Once he gets over the initial excitement of meeting a new friend, he calms down. He does great with cats, is house trained, and has done well with dogs most of the time. If a canine friend tells him no, he takes that as a challenge to try even harder to be best friends. He does well being home alone or in the crate. His short term foster says " He's a happy dog with a lot of personality. He loves cuddling and playing. He can be energetic, but also knows when to calm down and just chill. He loves being involved in everything I do. He also definitely loves attention, and he is such a good boy. He loved every person he met and just wanted pets from everyone. He's a very sweet and smart boy who listens pretty well. Oh and also he really believes he's a small lap dog but everyone that met him loved him because he's got such a personality. Volunteers say "Today a guest and I took Veggie for a long drive, first we went to grab a pup cup at the grind then we went to my house. We ran around and played fetch and found out that he's a VERY smart boy who knows how to sit, shake and lie down. He's amazing. After being so good at the house, we had to go to Lizzie and Rocco's for a bacon treat and Veggie made quick besties with the three employees. He was very good on his leash and he was nice and quiet in the car." "Veggie spring roll is a very sweet and happy dog! We went on a walk together and spent some time driving around. He was pretty good on the leash, but he does need a little work with pulling and jumping. I think he'd be a great dog for someone willing to work with him and give him enough exercise every day to get some energy out."

Spike is a happy guy ready to find a great home! His 2 previous owners unfortunately never came for him so he's hoping the 3rd time is the charm when it comes to finding a new family. He likes toys, especially ones he can chew, and has a good amount of playful energy!

Story
King is an active, playful, and intelligent boy! He is the biggest cuddle bug and loves car rides with the window cracked. Tug of war is his game- he will play all day! He has lived with young children in the past and loved playing with them. His previous owner said that he does well with other dogs and cats, but is very playful and and doesn't always realize how big and strong he is! He's also very smart and know how to sit and shake, for a treat of course! Volunteers say "King wanted to play for the entire time. He would have played fetch forever if you let him. He was very much into tug of war as well. He seems like a fast learner. King just needs something to do as an outlet for all that energy." "It was great spending time with him and seeing King's personality. He loves playing tug and showing his energetic side but can also be calm and sweet and just want belly rubs." "King and I took a car ride over to Grindstone Nature Area and went on a hike. On the car ride at first he was very excited and tried to sit up front but after a little driving he laid down in the back and relaxed. He loved going on the walk and is super strong so a very active person would be best for him. He is friendly to everyone and is an excellent hiking partner." "King and I decided to go on a hike at Capen park and relaxed at my apartment the rest of the day where he took a nap. King was very polite, never barked, and was very curious at every person or dog that walked past! He just wanted to sniff them and say hello! He's a very good boy and knows how to sit. And he's so gentle taking treats. King also loves belly scratches! I think he would be perfect with any type of dog owner." "We went to Stephens Lake Park and walked around, then ended our time with a pup cup. King was excited to get in the car, and enjoyed the fresh air on his face as we drove. He was curious in the car but sat well. We went on a fairly long walk around Stephens, and King was overall a good leash walker - he has a lot of energy but the only time he pulled on the leash was when we weren't walking fast enough to get to the next thing to smell. He did not lunge or jump at anything, and never barked. We then stopped for a pup cup on our way back and he seemed to really enjoy the treat. King is so gentle with people, especially for a dog with as much energy as he has." "We went to Stephens Lake Park and walked around, then ended our time with a pup cup. We also went on a walk on the Grindstone trail and went on a long drive together. King is very social with people and is very sweet and loving! He's somewhat energetic and needs to go outside but also loves his relaxation time as well. He can be outgoing for a little bit but after 10 minutes or so he needs to rest. I believe King would do very well with a family that will play with him and give him lots of attention, but also likes to relax and have down time."

Story
Frack is a shy guy that's looking for a little extra TLC in his life. He was abandoned at the shelter by someone he thought he could trust along with his brother, Frick. He's eager to find a home where he won't have to worry about that again. He seems happy once he warms up to you! Volunteers say "Frack and I went to the Grind and got a pup cup, which he enjoyed so much. We then went to my house and met some friends, he was shy at first but quickly came around once he realized they were safe and he had a lot of fun! We also went for a drive and he sat patiently on the floors of the car and was quiet throughout the drive." "We were going to go to the Garth Nature Area, but it started pouring as soon as we got there. We then walked up and down every aisle at Lowes, and went back to my apartment to hang out on the couch and watch TV. Frack was very shy in the Lowes, but did a very good job."

He's eager to find a home where he won't have to worry about that again. He seems happy once he warms up to you! Volunteers say "He did so good! He definitely likes to pull and is more than willing to choke himself to smell something he finds interesting. He didn't lunge for cars, other dogs didn't bother him too much he was just super interested in them but has really great potential to learn tricks if someone would work with him he listens very well just doesn't understand what I was wanting. Overall such a good boy you just have to be willing to play tug of war with the leash until he's comfortable." "He did so good! He pulls on the leash pretty good but I did click my tongue and he turned around to look at me and released tension on the leash, but he did not respond to commands "sit or "leave it." Towards the end of the walk he hardly pulled at all until we got back to the shelter - assumably because he was tired. We passed a few people and he was very interested in them and pulled on the leash but did not bark at them, just seemed interested and excited. He got pretty anxious when we passed a man under the bridge who was being pretty loud. This caused him to pull on the leash as if he was trying to run away from the man. We saw a few small animals and he didn't react to them at all. He is super sweet and smiley and such a good boy! He LOVES rolling in the grass it was cracking me up!" "I walked Frick the past two times I have volunteered and he is the BEST boy. He does pull on the leash sometimes, but other than that he is awesome. He loves scratches and pets and maintained very positive body language towards me! He is VERY loving and isn't overly energetic/hyper (or hasn't been since I've known him!). He does not bark at other dogs when we pass them, and overall is a very good boy!"

If you're looking for a high energy pup, look no further! Janice is ready to run, run, run! She likes toys and treats. She's a friendly gal ready for lots of adventures! Here's what volunteers had to say after spending time with Janice: If you're looking for a dog that will make you laugh, Janice is your gal. Just give her a squeaky toy and let the fun begin. She absolutely loves toys! She's happy to play by herself but is more than willing to include you in the fun. She would love to have a yard where she can play and explore. She also really likes treats, which will make teaching her new tricks much easier.
