This handsome pup is Walter. He is a mixed breed who is approximately 9months old. Walter is a bit shy but does warm up quickly and his playful, energetic personality shines through. Walter did not get a lot of socialization as a young puppy, so many things are new to him. We are looking for a home that may have another well behaved dog for Walter to pal around with. Walter would also enjoy some older kids to play with. He loves playing in the LHS yard with the other dogs so a fenced yard would be a plus. He does need work on leash walking and learning basic commands. Please make sure you have the time, energy and patience to dedicate to him. If you would like to meet Walter, stop in during open hours Wednesdays 6-8pm and Saturdays 12-3pm. My name is Bogey and I am about 4 years old. I am not only unique with how my eyes look....but I am also unique in that I am missing part of my left hind leg. But no worries....I get around just fine....and boy can I run!!! I have learned to adjust, even though I am missing part of my back leg....I still can use it when needed. I am a pretty happy go lucky guy and I do great with the staff, I like scratches, belly rubs and being petted.

My name is Medusa and I arrived at the shelter due to my family not caring for me or even caring about me...I was left outside 24/7 and without a good dog house to help me get out of the elements and to stay warm. To be honest, my life was aweful...no body cared about me at all and they did the bare minimum while I was constantly chained outside. Not sure what I did to deserve that life...but I am happy to say the staff have shown me what love and compassion is all about and I am ready to move onto the next chapter in my life. When you walk by my kennel you will see me sitting calmly and patiently waiting for someone to pick my to be their new family member.

My name is Tommy....my friends call me Tommy Boy - even though I am a little over a year old...I have had a very tough life growing up, I was not cared for...and rarely fed any food. When I arrived at the shelter I was emaciated to the point of having a body condition score of 1 out of 9 and I was just a bag of bones. BUT happy to say I have been gaining weight and getting the proper care and I feel like a million bucks....and I look so much better!!! I enjoy every moment in life and I am not looking back...I am only looking forward to the future...where I will be loved and cared for.
