Oh, Miss Bailey!Bailey is the cute tan and white lady that's been hanging around our facility for the last 9 months. Although she's definitely a favorite for us, we still can't figure out why she's been here so long. Bailey originally came to FDHS back at the end of June 2023 as a stray and was never reclaimed by her family. She was very nervous when she first got here but quickly stole the heart's of employees and volunteers. If her perfect little triangle ears don't have you swooning, than her giant heart and sloppy kisses definitely will. She's a younger, active dog that would love to be in a home where she can keep her brain and body busy! She's prone to some separation anxiety and can be destructive if she doesn't have something to keep her occupied. Bailey would also need a home willing to go on lots of leash-walks or allowing her to have space to burn some energy. She seems to be a bit of an escape artist so a secure back yard would be ideal! Bailey also demands you have a high toy budget because she loves to chew tuff toys to keep her brain active and her teeth healthy!Preferring the life as a solo animal, Bailey is perfect for someone looking for a dog to keep them company. Hey guys! It's me! Duke!I was recently found as a stray right down the road from FDHS wearing a harness and leash. The humans were certain someone would come looking for me, but my previous folks never came. I'm not quite sure why, because I'm a really good boy! I'm still getting used to life at the shelter and my caretakers are still getting to know my perks and quirks- but so far they're all pretty smitten with me. The other dogs with more "intense" personalities tend to get me worked up, but I think I'm pretty open to meeting calmer canine friends! Meet Minnie, Minnie was born in November 2022. She’s a lovely girl who just wants to do the right thing, but she needs someone who can truly dedicate their time to her. Unfortunately, my work schedule got entirely unmanageable soon after she came into my life and I don’t feel like she was given a real chance to thrive. Here’s the honest truth: She does listen, she knows come and she doesn’t give much attitude. She responds to treats and praise, she barely barks. However, she still jumps and mouths and I’ve been having trouble breaking her of that. She is crate trained but we do have another dog that we are keeping and we’re concerned about their attachment. ***On the rare occasion she still has accidents in the crate!***

'McCoy the Good Boy', that's what the folks around here call me. I’ve become pretty familiar with the kennels of FDHS in my lifespan. You see, I was born here six years ago and found my first home when I was just a pup. I spent about four years there but kept getting into trouble with the neighborhood cats and small animals so that family decided that it was best for my to find someone could keep me away from smaller critters. After a few months of being here back in 2021 I found the most awesome home with a really great man. Despite my quirks he loved me like no other and gave me a great home and became my Dad. Unfortunately, my Dad got really sick and as much as we loved each other, he knew I needed to find another family that could give me the care I need. I’m really sad to be back and miss my Dad. The nice girls at the shelter assure me that I won’t be here long and they’re going to find me a family to help heal my heart and love me just as much as Dad did. Hello world! My name is Keanu Reeves (the dog version), but you can just call me Keanu! Although I'm not stealing the spotlight on the big screen, I am aiming to steal a spot on your couch!I was surrendered to the nice people at FDHS about 2 months ago after my previous owner could no longer keep me. I wasn't in the best of condition when I arrived, I was pretty skinny and missing some hair. In the time that I've been here I look like a completely different dog! I'm a sturdy boy with a large head and a tail that NEVER stops wagging. I really am the happiest of boys. I've done pretty well in the shelter environment. I'm always eager to meet new human friends and I love to run around in the fenced yard out back. I can get a little sassy with some of the more "intense" dogs but I think with slow and proper introductions, I wouldn't mind having a canine sibling. I did very well when I was cat-tested and would likely be totally fine going to a home with them. The staff praises me for keeping a clean kennel (other than the occasional mud from my paws...I like to play!) and I do excellent with routine.
