Zeus is a pit bull mix. One of my old coworkers found him in a dumpster, so I brought him home with me. I have had him since spring of 2020 and he has been such a loving and playful dog. He has not been getting along with my other dog, which is why I want him to go somewhere with no other dogs. He usually is okay with children, but he does growl sometimes, so I also would like him to go to a home with no children. He is slightly crippled, but he has all of his legs. He just walks a little funny, but he is still the biggest goofball and that does not stop him from running around and playing. He loves to snuggle and usually sleeps with me in bed. I am only adding an adoption fee because I want to make sure he goes to a good home that will love him as much as I do.

Hey everyone! I'm Toby. I was recently surrendered to FDHS after my previous owner could no longer care for me. I'm basically a GIANT puppy and have no clue exactly how large I am. I'm just over a year old with a lot of learning to do. Leash manners are definitely not my area of expertise and I'm going to need some work on that. I do well in a fenced in yard but I really just want to be where the people are. I do have a history of being a runner, so future adopters keep that in mind! I seem really curious about making friends with some of the other shelter dogs and I might enjoy having a canine sibling in my adopted home. As always, a Meet & Greet with any potential dog siblings is ideal. I'm not sure what I think of cats or small animals. I would probably be best in a home with older children, since I'm so big and clumsy.

This big-headed boy is a huge fan favorite here at FDHS! Let us tell you why.Ry came to us as part of a humane case where he wasn’t being treated very kindly. Despite his rough past, this dude's an optimist and still has a HUGE love for humans! When he isn't running out his zoomies in the back yard, Ry's favorite thing to do is cuddle up with someone and take a nice long nap. Ry loves cuddling SO MUCH that as soon as you start rubbing his chin or his chest, his little yellow eyes start to close and he acts like he's in a trance and then he's a whole puddle of pup in your lap. Sometimes he gets so into it that he'll flop onto his back and start snoring.Ry has a very gentle nature and an easy-going personality. He prefers a calm, stable environment where he will feel safe and loved. He was adopted out once briefly and was returned after realizing it wasn't an ideal fit for their home and lifestyle.Ry can be tolerant with new people, but he needs his space respected and doesn't love people being up in his face. He does okay with other dogs in doses but would likely do best in a home as an only dog or with another calm senior pup. Ry has lived with cats in the past and did okay. He would benefit most from a low-traffic home where he gets lots of one-on-one attention.Don't let his age fool you, this boy is a tank! He doesn't have the best leash manners, but does okay in a harness. He's excellent in a fenced in area or on a secure tie-out. Ry is very, very strong and can be a little bull-headed when out on an adventure.If you're wanting to give this charming guy a chance, you won't be disappointed!**Neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and UTD on vaccines & monthly prevention**

Goodness gracious! Get a look at those ears! We aren’t sure if Lilac is a dog or an overgrown bunny in disguise, but she sure is cute! Lilac is a recent owner surrender, due to no fault of her own. She’s estimated to be a little over a year old and still growing into her big ol’ ears. This girl is happiest when she’s hanging out with some humans and getting her belly rubbed. This hunk of handsome is Vince! Vince originally came to us as a stray and then was surrendered after his previous owner was no longer able to care for him. Mr. Vince is a big ol' boy with wisdom in his eyes and a little bit of gray on his muzzle. He likes the calmer things in life and is looking for a home he can retire in. When Vince was found running the streets, he wasn't a huge fan of other animals. He is a known escape artist and has a wanderer's soul. With that, he will need a secure yard. Vince would prefer to go to a home WITHOUT children! He takes his peace and quiet very seriously. He's done excellent about keeping a clean kennel and for the most part he just politely lays in his bed and minds his business.Are you looking for a laid back companion to lounge around the house with? This sweet face is Mr. Vaughn. Vaughn came to us as a stray a few weeks ago and was never reclaimed by his family. Vaughn is a GIANT baby and wants to be right with his humans, if not, well....you'll hear some crying. But this boy is more than his big head and big tears, Vaugh has a huge heart and is a Grade A Snuggler. He's also a fantastic leash walker and has excellent manners overall. Vaughn doesn't seem to mind other animals and would likely do okay in a home with other animals. We can't get enough of him! To top it all off, Vaughn has the most adorable crooked-tooth smile and that makes all the ladies and gentlemen swoon.
