Story
We are looking for a new home for Lexi. Her mom was a beagle and father unknown, but DNA testing shows she’s more pit bull. She is a sweet but shy dog. She loves being petted and being played with and would be a good family pet with continued training. She l loves to run outside with her brothers and play fetch. She’s very skid-dish and is wary of new people, but has been a good pet. She knows basic commands like sit and down, but needs more training. She could use more training for some bad habits, but her behavior is SO much improved from when we got her at 1-1/2 years. She gets along with other dogs, however, she has a tendency of pestering them until she’s used to them. Lexi gets along well with people and will be ok with other dogs. Not sure how she would be with cats. She’s been great with our three children and other pets.

Story
We are looking for a new home for Bruno. His mom was a beagle and father unknown, but DNA testing shows she’s more pit bull. Bruno is a loving dog and a good buddy. He is well trained and minds really well. He would likely do well on his own without any other animals. He’s done very well with our children and all others he has met. We got him when he was 1-1/2 and has been a good pet. We just can no longer take care of him. He gets along well with his littermate and eventually our other pets, but his behavior can be unpredictable at times.

Story
Hi! I’m Elvis, a Pitbull/Shar Pei blend who's playful, cuddly, and smart. I love playing fetch and learning new tricks. When I'm not playing, I enjoy snuggling up for some good cuddle time. I'm also quite the quick learner, so we can have lots of fun mastering new commands together. Adopting me means bringing home a bundle of joy who will always be excited to see you and make your days brighter. Let's make endless memories together!I'm 9 weeks old, neutered, currently weigh around 10lbs, current on vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, on heartworm prevention and microchipped, my adoption donation is $200. If you would be interested in adopting please visit us at 4 Commercial Ave Washington Court House Ohio. Our hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 2pm.These are abandoned street animals or unplanned litters, some of older age, and many with a shy temperament. Their prior history is sometimes unknown. We make every effort to check the basic health and personality of each animal.CAT:Every adoptable cat is currently vaccinated (FVRCPP), vaccinated for rabies (if 16 weeks or older), spayed/neutered, treated for worms, treated for fleas, micro-chipped and started on ear mite treatment (if required).DOG:Each adoptable dog/puppy is currently vaccinated (DHPP), vaccinated for rabies (if older than 16 weeks), treated for worms, treated for fleas, spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm (if over 6 months of age), micro-chipped and started on ear mite treatment (if required).Upon adoption you will be given a health record to take to your veterinarian. Adoption fees are typically $90.00 for kittens, $50 for cats and $300 for dogs/puppies unless otherwise stated. We accept cash or debit/ credit card only! These fees are subject to fluctuation, if deemed necessary, depending on season, amount of adoptable animals in our program, and/or breed of animal. The adoption fees help us recover a small portion of the money that we spend on these animals. Thank you so much for your interest in a shelter pet!!!

She’s:✨ Very sweet and affectionate✨ Crate trained✨ Calm and respectful of other animals at the shelterShe has been around both dogs and cats and has done well with those she has met.Nami knows it isn’t always easy for bully-breed-looking dogs to find homes, but she’s holding out hope for a Christmas miracle—that someone will see past the stereotypes and recognize just how special she really is. She doesn’t want to be one of the dogs who waits months for a chance.🎁 Nami is ready to start taking applications for the right family right away.Could you be the miracle she’s wishing for this Christmas? 🐶🎄Nami's adoption fee is $225. Story
**Gargoyle has been with us 101 days too long, he's a great dog and deserves to be in a home!**🗿🐾 Meet Gargoyle – the sweetest “statue” you’ll ever meet!At almost 2 years old and 46 lbs, Gargoyle is the perfect medium-sized pittie with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s the ultimate mix of wild child and couch potato—one minute zooming around showing off his back flips, the next curled up soaking in affection. 🛋️💕Gargoyle lives for belly rubs and makes the funniest faces when he gets them 😄. He loves treats of any kind, enjoys playing fetch, and is highly motivated by food and praise, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. When meeting new people, Gargoyle starts off shy and polite, but once he’s comfortable, his goofy, energetic side shines through. He can be very jumpy at first, especially on walks, but it’s all excitement—he’s just trying to get your attention and share his joy. With guidance and consistency, he’ll continue to improve.🐶 Dog-friendly: Yes!🐱 Cats: Not a match (high prey drive)🏡 Best home: Someone who can keep him safely contained and provide structure for his energy👧Great with kids! He used to live with an autistic child and was great with her. Like any pittie, Gargoyle is incredibly affectionate and thrives on love and attention. He truly is the sweetest boy, and once he chooses you as his person, you’re his whole world. 💖Gargoyle is neutered, microchipped, flea & tick treated, heartworm tested negative, and on prevention—all ready to trade his roaming days for a forever home.Adopt Gargoyle and let this charming “guardian” protect your couch instead of your roof. 🛋️🐶💕Gargoyle's adoption fee is $225. Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
