Story
🎄🐾 Nami’s Christmas Wish 🐾🎄Nami is a sweet girl who came to us from a local dog pound, and this Christmas her one and only wish is a family to share her love with for the rest of her years. ❤️Nami is a 2-year-old pit bull mix (best guess) with a truly wonderful personality. She’s:✨ Very sweet and affectionate✨ Crate trained✨ Calm and respectful of other animals at the shelterShe has been around both dogs and cats and has done well with those she has met.Nami knows it isn’t always easy for bully-breed-looking dogs to find homes, but she’s holding out hope for a Christmas miracle—that someone will see past the stereotypes and recognize just how special she really is. She doesn’t want to be one of the dogs who waits months for a chance.🎁 Nami is ready to start taking applications for the right family right away.Could you be the miracle she’s wishing for this Christmas? 🐶🎄Nami's adoption fee is $225. She is vaccinated, flea & tick treated, spayed, and microchipped. You can apply on our website www.highlandhumanesociety.org OR stop into the shelter 12- 5 pm Tuesday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before we close to ensure we have time to do the adoption.Take advantage of our foster-to-adopt program, where you can take any dog 4 mos and older home for a week to make sure it is a good fit before committing to adoption.

Story
This sweet boy was dumped on our property about a month ago with a bag of dog food. We've taken him to the vet. They believe him to be between one and three years old. We did get him a rabies shot. He is neutered. The vet scanned him for a chip and he has one but it is not registered. He sits, he shakes hands, he's crate trained, and he's house trained. We would love to keep him, but we have smaller pets that are not good with other dogs. We are keeping them separate.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Neo! Neo is a great little guy that was at euthanasia risk because his family could not afford treatment for a Parvo diagnosis, so DASH stepped in to save him. He has made it through the worst of it & absolutely loves his life!! He is doing well in his foster home, recuperating but still needs to regain a little weight. He may weigh-in heavy but is very thin. He is learning his puppy manners & basic commands like sit, no, what's in your mouth, nibbles aren't kisses & don't bark at the kitty! He does well on a leash, allows nail trimmings freely, does well for "down time" in his crate after a few minutes of protest. He wants to be out with his people & play with the other dogs. He sleeps in the bedroom crate all night & barks or whines to potty EARLY in the morning. Neo was called "Carter" in his past life, but to give him a new beginning, he is now Neo. He is quickly picking up on his new name. He will answer to his name, come from the yard when called (most times), he doesn't potty in his crate, is catching on to house training by heading for the door when let out of his crate, & starting to scratch at the door to alert us when loose in the house. He always needs an escort off the porch because doesn't want to let us out of his sight. He loves his toys & other dogs, bows & barks to get the the kitties to play too. He is a very intelligent little boy who is catching on quickly to training, he'll be a pretty big guy before we know it. He is a huge love bug, loyal to a fault. So if you "like big mutts and you cannot lie" He's the perfect housemate for you!!! He is waiting for his own family to grow up with & fill his heart forever. Story
This sweet soul had a rough start. She is now on the mend and looking for her forever home. She would do best in a quiet home. She gets along with other dogs, and does not mind cats. She loves everyone. She will mostly likely have reoccurring skin issues according to our vet. With a good diet, medicine and love it can be managed. If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!

Story
Terrier Mix that has the soul of a puppy but can be the perfect guard dog for a home. Atticus came from a home with his brother Saivyer and multiple dogs but can be selective towards others. This boy has a sweet heart and can be misunderstood sometimes. He hates to be alone; he would rather have a hooman around. Atticus needs a home where he will have an active owner and can have separation anxiety if not worked with. Meet and greats are necessary and encouraged when adopting into a home with house mates. Atticus loves toys, bones, and going on walks but will need a handler that can handle his strength. Atticus is fully vetted and ready for adoption! If you would like to meet Atticus, please visit our website to submit a adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!
