Story
Ms. Kai is one of the most beautiful, and cuddliest dogs. She will cuddle with you on the couch all day but will be ready to go on a walk or play. She does have Hypothyroidism but it’s controlled with medications and gets seen by the vet every 6 months for a recheck. Our family is currently way too busy and work way too much for this sweet girl. Unfortunately, our 1 year old has been quite the handful and we haven’t been giving kai the attention that she deserves. We love our sweet girl but we know she deserves an owner who will have time for her.

Story
Doug is a sweet, calm boy who is great with other dogs and with cats. He is a young adult so about 2-3 years old. He is playful but not hyper, does great on walks on and off leash. He is shy at first and backs away a bit but always sweet and never aggressive. He has been around dogs of all sizes and temperaments here at the rescue and does well with everyone. He found himself at a high kill high intake shelter and ended up on the euthanasia list. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $450 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Zion is a young female pocket pittie mix who found herself at a high volume kill shelter where dogs get euthanized daily. When it was her turn, we rescued her and what a good save she was. She is a pocket pittie, i.e. small in size for the breed, and great with other dogs and also with cats. She is playful and loving and will be your best friend. She does well in a crate too. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. Story
Watch her video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Z71ZM9HDOZw Salvation was seized as a cruelty case. She was being kept in a small cage 24/7 and almost starved to death. The person who reported the owner wanted to adopt her after she got better but the previous owner knew them and threatened them. I took her into my rescue and she is the absolute sweetest thing ever despite what she has been through. All she wants is to be loved on. She is great with other dogs even when they are annoying and she is great with cats too. She walks well on the leash and despite her bad experience with crates she does well in them. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rYXuf16PsWo Yada Yada is a young adult male pit bull mix who was picked up by animal control after someone reported that he was attacked by other stray dogs. Despite this experience, he is the sweetest boy. He has been around dogs of all sizes here at the rescue as well as cats (including kittens!) and has been great with everyone. He is a little shy and cautious still but 100% loving and sweet. He needs a home that will show him what love and safety feels like. He deserves to feel happy and safe for the rest of his life.
