CindyCindy, she’s a toughie. Cindy has been with us a year now. She came in as a feral pup, completely missing her window for socialization. She makes progress, but it’s slow and steady. Her siblings were all adopted, they found that special someone who will give them the time and space they need to bloom. But not Cindy, not yet at least. CindyCindy has her ways. She won’t eat from a bowl, just the floor. She likes things done how they’ve always been done. She likes butt and head scratches. She’s accepted that people like her. Maybe she won’t be the prancing pony, happy-go-lucky pup that bounds into your arms when you come home. But she will greet you with a nod of acceptance. Cindy loves other dogs. She will play, she will snuggle. She enjoys exploring the backyard. But change, that’s still hard. There’s someone out there though who has the perfect setup for her. A quiet house, a patient heart, and welcoming smile. Till then, Cindy is fine where she’s at. But a home all for her, that would be a Christmas miracle.

Andouille is shy girl initially. She would do best in a home with other dogs who can help her to adjust to her new home. She will bond strongly with her people and will needs continued socialization to adjust to new people. She needs someone who is able to help her learn that new people aren’t meant to be feared, but embraced because they can bring treats and belly rubs. Maybe she’ll never be outgoing. We would recommend no young children at this time. Once she trusts you though, it’s hard to get her to stop loving you. You get tail wags, kisses, hugs, and cuddles. It’s just the understanding that first, Andouille won’t want anything to do with you. Is there anyone out there that can give this girl a chance? Just some time and patience and trust?

Monty is crushed. For a month, his dream came true. He was in a home with two adults and a child who were fostering him. He thought he got the jackpot. We all thought he had found his forever home. They realized that a small child and a big boy were a lot to handle at one time. Sadly he is back in boarding as we have no open fosters. He is over a year old and 80 pounds. Don’t let his size fool you. He is a gentle giant. He is fully trained and passed with flying colors. (He is very proud of himself in the photo). He is kennel trained. He can pull on the leash but knows better. This boy is a gem. He is one I would keep if I could but hoarder is apparently a bad thing. Who knew? He followed the child around like she hung the stars and moons. He tried to eat the rocks she fed him. (She thought they were treats and we did not let him). Bless him for trying to make her happy.

Bosco is an 85-pound friendly, energetic Pitbull / French Bulldog mix. He gets along with other dogs, but he is an alpha who likes to assert dominance, and it’s not recommended he go to a home with any cats. Despite being alpha around animals, he is submissive to humans. He’s clearly been abused as he winces any time you try to pet him, and his eye is hemorrhaging from blunt force trauma that the vet believes happened recently. Bosco is heartworm negative, and in fact, is very healthy besides the injury to his eye. He loves to walk, and is one of the best walkers I know as he doesn’t pull and he knows how to keep pace with you. He is not a flight risk, as he’s had several opportunities to run away, but prefers being close to those he trusts. He quickly settles in to his kennel when he knows you’re leaving, but if he’s caged while you’re still home, he’ll let you know with an ear-piercing bark that he wants out of the kennel. Bosco would be best suited for a home with at least one canine playmate who is as hearty as he is, but not in a home with cats. He hasn’t been around children yet, but I believe he would be excited to have dog-sized people around him. That being said, he needs some training so as not to jump on his humans, because whenever he gets excited, he loves to let you know by springing up and leaving paw prints on your chest… and your heart.* * (not literally your heart, that would kill you) ##1627350##
