Story
Megg is with us for quite some time since July of 2019 to be exact. We realize that not every dog that comes into the shelter is going to be instantly ready to go directly into a home . Poor Megg was absolutely petrified when she came in . We needed time for her to adjust and so we could could learn what was causing her such distress .She is a great walker but she tends to be shy with new people. She would need a few meet and greets, to establish trust with strangers . Once she is your friend, it is for life. She is adaptable and loving when spending time with people she knows. She can run around and play but really likes petting and relaxing with her people. Would do best as only animal in the home and no children due to her fearfulness. Our staff that have had the most interaction with her say that she has a very sweet nature and loving spirit.Megg is 6 years old and look at how beautiful she is . This girl deserves a forever home and family .She is housebroken, walks perfectly on a leash , takes commands and can be a true best friend. She has been an exceptional dog in her time with us. She would be great with a retired man or woman , or a couple who has time to love on her . If you are interested in meeting Megg , please apply here :Www.griffinpondanimalshelter.com/adopt

Story
Meet Jay Jay- aka Rocco! Jay Jay is a loyal boy and he devotes himself to you; he does so with all his heart. He is quite the handsome boy but he is unsure of new people. He would need a patient adopter who wouldn`t mind spending some time to get to know him. Once he trusts you, he is a real cuddle bug who loves to be pet and give kisses. Jay Jay loves to play with his toys (especially tennis balls) and usually has a hilarious goofy look on his face. Jay Jay loves his family but would do best in an adult only household with few visitors. Jay Jay is more than enough love for one family so he prefers not to share your attention with other canines or cats. Jay Jay also loves going for runs and playing in the water. He is very smart and loves to eat from puzzle toys. Come meet this handsome doggie today!

Story
Peteys adoption fee has been lovingly sponsored ??Thanks Jenn“Please give me a second chance at life, Griffin pond saved my life before I was killed for medical reasons at another shelter but now I still sit and wait for a real home day after day.I’m stressed in my kennel, can’t seem to settle in here, I would like a much more docile atmosphere that isn’t so loud.”Petey recently passed the 4 year markIn the kennels this month. He’s come so far but not close enough to real happiness in a home of his own. He’s a 8 year old boy who was in need of help with medical issues that have been fully cared for and he possesses a few bumps and bruises to show that he’s been knocked around a bit in his life.No other dogs , no cats and no kids .Petey is a ham for the camera, a great sidekick in the car, a fabulous hiking or trail companion , the best bench sitter. He needs to learn to trust people so he would have to meet a potential adopter a few times to feel comfortable with them . A meet and greet would be required. If interested in adopting or fostering please apply if not, PLEASE share !!!Www.griffinpondanimalshelter.com/adopt

Guaranteed to make you laugh (his zoomies are Olympic-level).Ideal Home: Someone who appreciates a 60-pound lapdog, doesn’t mind sharing snacks, and understands that “fetch” is a 3-hour commitment.Serious inquiries only—Snoop doesn’t have time for games (unless it’s fetch). ????

Story
3 year old Rex has been a charmer since he walked in our doors. He loves the ladies but enjoys the boys too ! Hes learning his leash manners but would benefit from a harness .He tries to contain his puppy like energy and the kennels are really the worst place for a dog who loves the outdoors .He would like a yard to fetch in , he also has tested well with other dogs .No cats.Rex was passed from home to home when he wasn’t getting along with the cats in the family. He came into the shelter as a stray and then was returned to his owners , they then let him loose the same day and he was brought back and never reclaimed. If you can give this loving , forgiving boy a forever family who won’t give up on him, please apply here : https://www.cognitoforms.com/griffinpondanimalshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogs

Story
???Tito’s Adoption Fee has just been Fully and Lovingly Sponsored by Amy DeLuca ?????Tito has had a rough life. He was found abandoned in a crate inside a home, covered in his own filth and underweight. He was not alone in this, some of you may remember Angel who had to be rushed to the emergency clinic because she had a deceased pup stuck. Angel has since found her forever home, but Tito has not been as fortunate.Tito is still waiting for someone to give him a home. Tito was extremely on edge and defensive when he was found, which is understandable considering what he went through.Looking at him today, you`d never know what he had to endure. And while we have cleaned him up and gotten him to a perfect weight, some things take longer to heal. Tito has what we call “stranger danger.”This simply means he didn’t easily trust people he didn’t know. Considering what people have done to him in the past, who can blame him for having his guard up? Once he is won over, he is truly a big baby. He is so sweet and full of life.Tito is estimated to be around 6 years old. He knows basic commands. He can be selective with other dogs but the dogs he does like, he loves. He plays well with them, walks well with them, and respects their boundaries. Tito loves to play off leash in our play yard. Tito is also a big fan of hugs and cuddles.Would you be willing to take some time to get to know him ? He’s worth every moment and to him, it would mean everything !https://www.cognitoforms.com/griffinpondanimalshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogs
