Story
Hi, my name is Ivy. I’m a 4 year old pit bull. I’m very sweet and cuddly and I love attention. I walk well on and off- leash. I know basic commands. I live with my foster sister now and I used to live with a male dog. I do have separation anxiety, so my foster mom puts me in a crate when she not home; sometimes I just go in it to relax. My foster mom said I come with my crate because it me feel safe.

Story
Koda was adopted from Griffen Pond. She is approximately 3 years old. She was my husband's dog, but he unfortunately passed away. I tried to take care of her, but she needs a yard she can run and play in. She is playful and strong, so she needs someone who can walk her and socialize her. I unfortunately can't. She is very lovable and loves to give kisses. She is also very protective. I hate to re-home her, but have no other options.

Story
Megg is with us for quite some time since July of 2019 to be exact. We realize that not every dog that comes into the shelter is going to be instantly ready to go directly into a home . Poor Megg was absolutely petrified when she came in . We needed time for her to adjust and so we could could learn what was causing her such distress .She is a great walker but she tends to be shy with new people. She would need a few meet and greets, to establish trust with strangers . Once she is your friend, it is for life. She is adaptable and loving when spending time with people she knows. She can run around and play but really likes petting and relaxing with her people. Would do best as only animal in the home and no children due to her fearfulness. Our staff that have had the most interaction with her say that she has a very sweet nature and loving spirit.Megg is 6 years old and look at how beautiful she is . This girl deserves a forever home and family .She is housebroken, walks perfectly on a leash , takes commands and can be a true best friend. She has been an exceptional dog in her time with us. She would be great with a retired man or woman , or a couple who has time to love on her . If you are interested in meeting Megg , please apply here :Www.griffinpondanimalshelter.com/adopt

Story
Meet Jay Jay- aka Rocco! Jay Jay is a loyal boy and he devotes himself to you; he does so with all his heart. He is quite the handsome boy but he is unsure of new people. He would need a patient adopter who wouldn`t mind spending some time to get to know him. Once he trusts you, he is a real cuddle bug who loves to be pet and give kisses. Jay Jay loves to play with his toys (especially tennis balls) and usually has a hilarious goofy look on his face. Jay Jay loves his family but would do best in an adult only household with few visitors. Jay Jay is more than enough love for one family so he prefers not to share your attention with other canines or cats. Jay Jay also loves going for runs and playing in the water. He is very smart and loves to eat from puzzle toys. Come meet this handsome doggie today!

Story
Riggs is a 4 year old mixed breed. He was found as a stray with many wounds and was brought to an emergency clinic. Once he was treated, he came to the shelter. We don`t know what exactly happened to this poor boy, but he hasn`t let it crush his spirit.Riggs may need a couple meet and greets in order to build trust. Riggs is housebroken, knows basic commands, and is dog friendly. No cats. He could use some help remembering his leash manners, as he has a slight pull at times. We will happily do a meet and greet with any dogs! We’re hopeful his good looks will get you in the door to meet him and then you can make him fall in love with you too !Riggs adoption fee is lovingly sponsored in memory of Ann Lowe ??Apply here : https://www.cognitoforms.com/griffinpondanimalshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogs

Story
Peteys adoption fee has been lovingly sponsored ??Thanks Jenn“Please give me a second chance at life, Griffin pond saved my life before I was killed for medical reasons at another shelter but now I still sit and wait for a real home day after day.I’m stressed in my kennel, can’t seem to settle in here, I would like a much more docile atmosphere that isn’t so loud.”Petey recently passed the 4 year markIn the kennels this month. He’s come so far but not close enough to real happiness in a home of his own. He’s a 8 year old boy who was in need of help with medical issues that have been fully cared for and he possesses a few bumps and bruises to show that he’s been knocked around a bit in his life.No other dogs , no cats and no kids .Petey is a ham for the camera, a great sidekick in the car, a fabulous hiking or trail companion , the best bench sitter. He needs to learn to trust people so he would have to meet a potential adopter a few times to feel comfortable with them . A meet and greet would be required. If interested in adopting or fostering please apply if not, PLEASE share !!!Www.griffinpondanimalshelter.com/adopt
