Story
Meet Emma:Emma is a beautiful blue-and-white girl with a heart as lovely as her coat. Found as a stray puppy suffering from severe demodex mange, Emma clearly didn’t have an easy start to life. After months of care and patience, her mange is fully under control, her coat has grown in beautifully, and she is now thriving. She continues on monthly Credelio as a preventativeEmma does well with dogs her own size and has lived with several different dogs in foster homes without issue. She can be a little unsure around large, overly active dogs, so calmer canine companions are best. She has not yet been around small dogs.Emma enjoys car rides and outings, has no anxiety or car sickness, and does not need to be crated in the car (though she is crate-trained and rides well in one if needed). During the workweek, Emma is kenneled while her foster mom is at work, and on weekends she happily tags along for adventures. She is: House-trained, leashed trained and Kennel trained.Emma isn’t timid, but she can be a little wary in new places—she settles quickly once she understands what’s expected. She’s very adaptable and just needs a family willing to help her learn their routine. She adjusts well with consistency.Emma would love a home where she can be the center of attention, soak up all the belly rubs, and continue enjoying outings with her people. She’s a resilient, affectionate girl who’s more than ready for the forever home she’s always deserved.Name: EmmaBreed: Pit Bull TerrierSex: FemaleAge: 2 year  (estimated)Weight: 50lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: Selective: Good with dogs her size, is frightened by over active dogs.Good with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Texas  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Pierogi, an irresistible little heart-stealer with short legs, big confidence, and a personality as delightful as the comfort food he’s named after. Like a perfect pierogi, he’s small, hearty, and guaranteed to make you smile. He may be a funny low-rider, but don’t let those short legs fool you—this pup is packed with joyful energy and an adventurous spirit.Pierogi came from a litter at a shelter in Alabama, and he’s been charming everyone he meets ever since. He absolutely adores kids and is gentle, playful, and affectionate with his people. He’s a smart boy who’s eager to learn and truly wants to please. When introduced to a cat, he did wonderfully—respectful, curious, and polite. Confident without being bossy, Pierogi strikes that perfect balance of fun and easygoing.Crate trained and making great progress with housetraining, this silly, loving boy will keep you laughing, happily follow you from room to room, and grow into a loyal companion who believes every day should feel warm, comforting, and a little extra special. If you’re looking for a family-friendly pup with a lot of heart and just the right amount of flavor, Pierogi is ready to serve up a lifetime of love in his forever home. .Videos:https://youtube.com/shorts/0A56gLLJD00?feature=sharehttps://youtube.com/shorts/TrY1pWZ1CZc?feature=shareName: PierogiBreed: Pittie/Basset Hound (possible since he has such cute stubby legs!)Sex: MaleAge: 11 weeksWeight: 12.0Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicableATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
Meet Honey Bun! A sweet adult dog that loves to play and get all of the loving she can. She has been affiliative and affectionate when meeting new people. Honey Bun wants nothing more than someone to join her on her adventures and crash with her on the couch. She does well with other dogs, but she would likely prefer a less playful dog. She enjoys playing by herself with toys rather than playing with another dog. Honey is a smart dog and has the potential to be an amazing dog for any family! If you are interested in Honey Bun, please call us here at (401)846-8276. You are welcome to stop by our Animal Care and Adoption Center here in Middletown, RI to meet with her at any time. Feel free to visit our website, www.potterleague.org, for more information on adopting from us.
