Story
Penny's mom recently passed away and unfortunately no one in our family can keep her. Penny is a 4 1/2 year old pitbull mix that was found about 4 years ago on the side of the road as a stray. She has always been a sweet dog that jumps a little too much when she is excited (we're working on it and in her defense visitors are fun), but ultimately just wants all the attention and love from anyone who will give it to her. She has grown up around my now 12-year-old daughter for the past 4 years and there have never been any issues. My daughter is on the autism spectrum and Penny has been more than patient, loving, and a constant companion for our daughter when she visited her grandmother. In her spare time Penny enjoys chewing on bones, dressing up in holiday themed outfits, and cuddling on the couch with her people. She would be a great addition to a home with no or older children (8 and up) and would ideally be the only dog in the home, but gets along great with large dogs.

Story
Louie is looking for a family of his own! Located in Greenville, South Carolina, but will transport to his perfect family. He will do best as the only dog for now. He likes to go on walks and hikes with other dogs, but needs to spend some time understanding his role in the family and feeling loved. We estimate Louie is 3-4 years old. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, and has completed training with The Dog Wizard. Because of this training, Louie can attend weekly support/maintenance classes at any Dog Wizard location in the country. Two things Louie dislikes are crates and cats. Louie is very smart and picks up on new commands quickly. He is much more encouraged and motivated by love and affection than food. He likes completing tasks and jobs, so I believe he may be particularly good as a working, sporting, or performance dog. Louie is still overly excitable when he sees new dogs, so he will need someone to continue working on that together. He is incredibly athletic and light on his feet. He is excellent at knowing that when he is indoors, he needs to remain calmer than if he were outdoors playing. Any dog will enjoy a yard of their own, but Louie really enjoys being by his human’s hip, so he particularly enjoys walks, runs, hikes, and long drives. When at home, Louie does not want to be crated. He has extreme crate anxiety due to the way he was abandoned. He will go right inside a crate easily if you tell him “crate” but becomes extremely upset once locked in. However, Louie is very good when left home alone and tends to just stare out the window and play with a few toys. Louie is also very gentle when playing with toys and taking treats. Story
MEET HONEY - April Pet of the Month Honey is available for adoption and is currently in Greenville, SC. Please message us if you are interested in adopting Honey 🍯 On the coldest day of 2022, Honey was found outside a gas station in Pensacola, Florida by our Newsletter Editor, Anna Moy Anna got right to work.. She got Honey food, shelter, and veterinary care, and began posting flyers and searching for Honey's family. Honey had a microchip, but all efforts made to contact her previous owners were ignored. Honey has been very friendly towards cats and dogs ❤ She is not great at taking corrections from other dogs yet, so if adopter has another dog, it should not be one to run up and be pushy and in her face. She often rolls onto her back for belly rubs! We are also AMAZED by Camp Bow Wow, Greenville SC who has taken in Honey for a month of boarding and daycare, all covered by them! We have no doubt Honey will get TONS of attention and love there. Keep an eye out for more photos of her during her stay!

Story
We adopted him as a 5 month old puppy. We were told he was great with kids and other animals. That was a requirement. Seeing as we had a dog and two cats prior. Not to mention at least one child at our house constantly. Well come to find out he has not been good with anyone other than adults. He resource guards and tries to fight my dog. Without other animals around he’s such a sweet boy. He loves belly rubs and his frisbee toy. He knows how to sit and will wait for food or for you to let him outside. His only issue outside of other animals is that he has to go outside so much. Personally we think he just loves going outside that he will hit the door constantly. It will not stop until he is outside just so he can run around with the biggest stick he can find. An ideal home for him is a place without other animals, and a place to run until his little legs can’t anymore. We love our little Terry but my husband and I know he won’t be the happiest he should be here.

Story
Echo is 5 years old and deaf. She is very friendly with people and other dogs! She chases cats and has a high prey drive for small animals. Echo walks well on the leash with some instruction- she's a little unobservant but she doesn't really pull. Echo is house trained and crate trained, and after a little adjustment time, she can adjust to most lifestyles. Echo has been in the same home since she was a puppy and will need some understanding as she adjusts to a new space and people, but she has so much love to give! She does have a history of higher anxiety, and does well on a daily medication that she takes VERY easily, and is not expensive.
