Though his owners were found, they were unable to keep him and surrendered him to rescue. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet, SC Special Needs? Reuger is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Reuger is available for transport to New York! Weight: 44 lbs Height: 20 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Reuger needs an experienced owner that is committed to giving this high-energy boy plenty of positive opportunities to get his energy out. Reuger has been in a foster home with several large dogs, small dogs, and cats. He has done exceptionally well. He rarely meets a dog that is not his friend. He would be suited for a home with any range of animal companions.  Reuger is a lover and is looking for a family who is seeking a loving dog. Reuger's favorite place to be is right next to his person. Reuger loves to be on the go, we cannot express that he needs to exercise. Reuger is looking for a regular hiker and someone who enjoys life on the move. We feel Reuger would be content in just about any home with the time to give him play time and mental stimulation. Reuger would do well with children 10 and older, he is goofy and tends to forget he is a big boy from time to time. Reuger is looking for a family environment where he is included in life. Reuger is a stunning young man and has been looking for his forever home for quite some time, we are hoping you can give Reuger the forever home he deserves.  What is my personality like? Reuger was found chasing a butterfly on the side of a busy highway. Oblivious to the dangers of cars, and happy to go for a ride, he just wanted to have fun. Though Reuger is microchipped, and his owners were contacted, they never came to get their boy and he was surrendered to rescue. The best way to describe Reguer is high energy. Friendly. Playful. Did we mention high energy! Reuger is super sweet and ready to GO! This bright boy will need his intelligent brain exercised regularly, along with his growing body. Even with all of this energy, Reuger is eager for belly rubs and cuddles, too. Reuger has done well with crate training, especially when given frequent potty breaks before bedtime. Reuger is crate-trained, leash-trained, house-trained, and knows several basic commands. Reuger completed an 8-week clicker training course hosted by our friends at Barkers Anonymous in Hendersonville, NC.  The gift of this training is sponsored by the Holly Fund and is uniquely designed for dogs in foster care to learn new skills and new confidence to allow them to transition to new homes. He was the star of the show and displayed extraordinary skills. He is attentive and eager to learn. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly, Reuger never meets a stranger! Other tips and tidbits: Reuger was found as a stray so we have no history on him. We celebrate his birthday as 08/07/2021. Reuger is available for transport to New York! House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Yes, Smokey requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Smokey is a wonderful boy looking for a home filled with adventure. He is great with other large dogs. He's curious about small dogs and cats; we don't recommend a home with these. Smokey is looking for an active home that wants an adventure buddy. He'd love someone home during the day or someone that can come home and offer him lots of physical and mental stimulation. Smokey would be good with children over 10. What is my personality like? Smokey was found tied to our gate one morning when our caregivers arrived for work. Wearing a collar with his name embroidered on it, it was clear he'd been loved and his family was desperate. Sadly, his best friend and canine sister had eaten her way out of her collar and was hit by a car and killed in front of our rescue. It's a tragic new start for Smokey, but we know his future is bright! Smokey enjoys meeting new people and going on adventures. He is very people friendly and loves snuggles and attention. This big boy is a true lovebug at heart and likes being the center of attention. Smokey loves fluffy beds, toys, sunbathing outdoors, and playing with his favorite female canines. Smokey is searching for a home where he can receive lots of outdoor activity (a fenced in yard would be best), lots of stimulation, and lots of attention from his humans. He loves going on walks and seeing new places/things. He walks decently on leash, but does pull quite a bit. His ideal home would consist of a younger couple/family with no tiny humans and a large yard to run and play in. How do I act when I first meet new people? Yes, Athena requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Athena is a young, active girl looking for an active home. Another active dog in the home for playtime is a requirement. Athena has lived with small dogs and younger children. She is truly great with everyone. Her dream is an active home where her humans are home more than they are away (work from home, home school, stay at home, active retirees) and want a hiking and adventure friend. What is my personality like? Athena is a young female Pit Bull Terrier who is seeking an active and playful forever home. She has been well loved and cared for as a young puppy. Sadly, life for Athena's humans changed and, despite their best efforts, they simply could not care for their beloved pup. She was lovingly surrendered to rescue to help her find the happily ever after Athena wants. Athena loves meeting new people and canines. She is extremely playful and active and must have a home that will give her the daily stimulation and exercise she needs. Athena would prefer another active canine in the home, one who can keep her company and help exert her energy. She is leash trained and knows a few basic cues, but is still working on perfecting her crate training. Athena loves toys and warm fluffy beds, along with sunbathing and cuddling with her humans. Looking for a new fur-iend? Look no further than Kayak! This fun-loving, affectionate, and loyal fella is the perfect addition to your family. Not only is he friendly and loyal, he's also a bit of a comedian - always making his human friends laugh. He's a clever boy who loves to show off his tricks (and he has a lot of them!). He's also a total couch potato and loves nothing more than a good snuggle sesh. Kayak is great with other dogs. So if you're looking for a sweet, funny, and adorable dog, Kayak is the one for you! Come meet him today and see for yourself just how wonderful he is. Meet Kayak! Breed: lab/pit bull mix. Age: 2 years (est birthdate 1/30/22) Weight: approx 50lbs right now. Training: crate, leash, and house trained. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes to dogs, unsure about cats-can test on request. Good with adults/kids? Yes, although he can be a little reserved at first. Personality: reserved at first, but that doesn't last long, he warms up to be very silly, submissive, friendly, playful. Loves toys and belly rubs. He is very loyal. Reason for rescue: originallly - dumped in a neighborhood. Kayak was adopted as a pup. Recently, we received a call from animal control through his microchip that he had been picked up. Apparently, the adopter rehomed him without reaching out to us at all. They didn't even have the name of the 'current owner' they rehomed him to. We commit to our animals for life, they ALWAYS have a safe place to come back to. Kayak needs and deserves a FOREVER home! Kayak is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Heartworm test pending. Meet Charlotte aka Lotte! Age: approx 9 years. Breed: pit bull mix. Size: approx 45lbs. Training: leash and crate trained, she is doing well with house training. Good with dogs/cats? No interest in dogs/she ignores them, cat test pending. Good with men/women/kids? Yes, though she does appear to be timid of men at first. She does warm up though. Personality: friendly, affectionate. Loves to cuddle. Reason for rescue: Charlotte was turned into a kill shelter after her owners claimed she bit them while breaking up a dog fight. This sweet girl isn't aggressive AT ALL. But because they claimed that, the shelter marked her rescue only and she was scheduled to be killed if no rescue stepped up. A foster volunteered to save her just in time. We don't know the situation surrounding Lotte's surrender. We do know from experience, sometimes people lie to make themselves look better when getting rid of their dog. Lotte is NINE YEARS OLD and suddenly she isn't doing well with other dogs? It just doesn't make sense. Come meet Lotte and decide for yourself. She is the sweetest girl! Lotte is microchipped and current on vaccinations and preventatives.
