Story
Duke’s owner recently passed away and Duke was scheduled to be euthanized. We stepped in to help. An organization called Pilots N Paws offers free flights to pets in need and two pilots stepped up to donate their time, fuel, and flight miles to transport Duke from central Texas to west Tennessee! Duke arrived on August 5th and is settling into our sanctuary. He was evaluated by a trainer who noted Duke is a gentle senior who is socialized to people and does very well in many situations including going to Tractor Supply, walking on a leash, sitting calmly when his person is carrying on a conversation then getting up when called, and with children. Duke does have a prey drive and may chase an animal that runs. He appears to react if another dog or cat shows dominant behavior but appears to do well with easy going dogs and potentially cats. Duke is a 10 year old senior pit bull who is kind, loving, and easy going. He is housetrained and current on his rabies vaccination. He does have a bad eye that has recessed into his head. We have a vet appointment set up for him in a few days for it to be evaluated. Otherwise he is healthy and an active senior. Because Duke is socialized to people and used to being around them, he is lonely in rescue. He has his own cabin with access to an outdoor area, but he really needs his own home and person to thrive and live out his senior years. Message us to set up a time to meet Duke or stop by Tues-Fri, 12-3pm. We are located at 2464 Flatwoods Rd., Camden TN.

This handsome pit mix is about 64 lbs of strength, smarts, and personality—and he’s just one year old, so he’s got all that fun, young-dog energy. Parker is very strong and very smart, the kind of dog who thrives with structure, playtime, and someone who loves an active companion. He’s rambunctious in the best way, absolutely loves his toys, and is always ready to turn playtime into his favorite part of the day. He does great with other dogs, is rarely messy in his kennel during the day (a big win!), and will happily eat just about anything you put in his bowl. He’s still working on his leash manners, but with consistency and a little patience, this guy is going to shine. Parker is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready for a home that can match his energy and help him grow into the amazing dog we know he can be.
